April 22nd TV Debate

I'm going along to be in the audience this Thursday for the Sky News TV Debate - it's being filmed in the South West, although it seems we're not supposed to say exactly where for security reasons.

Would people like an official MN behind-the-scenes report afterwards?

Should I break the rules and heckle/cheer loudly at a strategic moment, and if so then when?

If I'm allowed to ask a question should I go "off-script" and ask about biscuits?

Is there anything else I should think about?

NC (and Obama) send shivers when they dig deep and speak with belief (I am a straight bloke btw)

sfxmum · 22/04/2010 21:30

I can't believe, although I am glad, that DC is blowing this but he is really shoring up the traditional Tory vote - good for him

others closing stronger

go Nick!!!!!

MmeLindt · 22/04/2010 21:31

I don't think that NC was that great. Too many wobbly answers.

babyphat · 22/04/2010 21:31

I liked GB closing statement

DC lame-o

he just doesn't resonate for me. i can't get over the posh thing

Big Society my arse

NC good - definitely best TV presence but not quite convinced by closing statement

megonthemoon · 22/04/2010 21:31

GB went quiet for me too! Definitely Murdoch trying to stop us listening...

I think GB won slightly, but all very close. But DC is not proving to be as good when pitched directly against the other two as he perhaps is when given free reign to talk. These debates are not doing the Tories any favours.

VoidofDiscovery · 22/04/2010 21:31

Clegg won, Brown good, speak as life long Labour voter, but Blair ruined the Party. Cameron - he's taking the Torys into the political wilderness.

CUNextTuesday · 22/04/2010 21:31

Bang! and the blah is gone

BosomsByTheSea · 22/04/2010 21:31

"Shape the world around us, not just complain".

"Yes we can"

Who's he been taking lessons from?

Also, I am snurking at the thought of DC keeping us safe from being 'frightened' by the other parties.

I heart NC, and will be voting for him. And I have never voted Lib Dem before.

Bumperliouzzzzzz · 22/04/2010 21:31

NC keeps talking about hte old parties forgetting that the Lib dems are older than Labour (or so I heard on Radio 4 this morning)

MollieO · 22/04/2010 21:31

GB edged it from NC, DC clearly behind in third.

catastrojb · 22/04/2010 21:32

Did NC just nearly fall down the step?!

ScotsFi · 22/04/2010 21:32

GB definitely stronger this week. NC revealed some of his colours on issues like cuts and europe. DC just as bad if not worse than before.

Go Gordon!!

rokersmum · 22/04/2010 21:32

agree NC is good but need to vote for total policies not just an individual and on the day i think people who poll LD will think that is a vote for a hung parliment - which would be a disaster for the economy

Clarissimo · 22/04/2010 21:32

I think GB did better than last week but like NC

Which is a bit embarssing in that I voted against him in ld leadership election then left the party coz i thought he'd be bad [bl;ush], I admit being very, very wrong indeed

DC I thouhggt would whitewash this for many and he isn't cutting it.

Sabs1981 · 22/04/2010 21:32

DC and NC not making the same mistake as last week and staying on stage

DinahRod · 22/04/2010 21:32

GB did better this week
DC not really hammering home anything, just rhetoric
NC not consistent but more does "genuine" better than the other two.

Winner: the set

JustMyTwoPenceWorth · 22/04/2010 21:32

Once again I found myself impressed by clegg.

vesela · 22/04/2010 21:32

MmeLindt, I think he botched a couple of things at the start (he has a lot more to say on Europe that he didn't, also political reform) but he went out on a very high note with the immigration and that summing up.

Ewe · 22/04/2010 21:32

Just did my YouGov live polling, very short, no leading questions or anything just very basic which is good.

I really liked GB tonight, think he did really well.

Need an update from Agent Squiggle. Did she get to shake hands? Who was clammiest?

teaandcakeplease · 22/04/2010 21:32

Do you think Nick does so well as he has nothing to loose? IYSWIN here?

DC and GB seemed like too angry men, shaking their heads so often.

I DC I do but NC performed better.

stirlingstar · 22/04/2010 21:32

Excellent closing statement from GB, but I thought NC came across very well during.

DC a bit whiny (I'm listening on radio) - managed to separate Tory position more I thought, but not in an appealling way for me. He lost.
