April 22nd TV Debate

I'm going along to be in the audience this Thursday for the Sky News TV Debate - it's being filmed in the South West, although it seems we're not supposed to say exactly where for security reasons.

Would people like an official MN behind-the-scenes report afterwards?

Should I break the rules and heckle/cheer loudly at a strategic moment, and if so then when?

If I'm allowed to ask a question should I go "off-script" and ask about biscuits?

Is there anything else I should think about?

NC doing very well on this one. Seems to have woken up.

am i allowed to say that gordon brown is actually coming across really well, and playing the "you two are pretenders, i'm doing the job and am the only one who knows what's what" card surprisingly well

vesela · 22/04/2010 21:20

NC's tie is from M&S - apparently they went in there and bought 20. maybe not all for him...

BosomsByTheSea · 22/04/2010 21:20

GB is def playing the older statesman.

spub · 22/04/2010 21:20

Maybe I'm being unfair. He's not my favourite politician. I just feel like every time he's interviewed or takes part in debates I'm waiting for the mention of Ivan. Maybe I'm being totally partisan but not sure that GB has done the same to the same extent when there might be a chance for him to talk about his bereavement. Anyway, if I'm being unfair and upsetting anyone then that's not my intention. I just find that I'm waiting for him to mention this every time I see or hear him.

And I do still think he's an arse. But not on the basis of this.

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 22/04/2010 21:20

I am less sure of who to vote for now.

JackBauer · 22/04/2010 21:20

Doe anyone else thingk that a lot of money would be freed by binning ID cards and wonder why no-one is thinking this.

megonthemoon · 22/04/2010 21:21

sorry - double posted. even more

MollieO · 22/04/2010 21:21

GB doing so much better than last week, NC doing well too but DC doing as badly if not worse than last week.

nappyzoneloveslindor · 22/04/2010 21:21

meg no i agree with you i think hes coming accross well too - all worldly wise.

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 22/04/2010 21:21

Jack Bauer, that is LD policy, tory too i believe

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/04/2010 21:21

jB - thats a Lib Dem policy.

mrsbean78 · 22/04/2010 21:21

" am i allowed to say that gordon brown is actually coming across really well, and playing the "you two are pretenders, i'm doing the job and am the only one who knows what's what" card surprisingly well "

I think so too.. and I started watching this being very pro-NC, anti-'the old parties'

catastrojb · 22/04/2010 21:22

I see, CagedBird - I'm kind of 2/3 listening in between bf dd and dozing off....

I love how NC has cut GB off a couple of times.

MmeLindt · 22/04/2010 21:22

I am for ID cards. Works for the Germans/French/Swiss ...

alicatte · 22/04/2010 21:22

David Cameron is doing a lot better isn't he?

Nick Clegg is still being 'edgy' I can see he's not been reading my posts - I would like a bit more gravitas next time (I'm sure Sheila, John and Charlotte would agree with me there).

I think there is something sort of innocent about Gordon Brown - that's the wrong word but I can't think of another.

Brollyflower · 22/04/2010 21:22

"Border controls on the M5" . Good line.

sfxmum · 22/04/2010 21:22

why is DC mixing asylum and immigration?

GB is pandering now

Clarissimo · 22/04/2010 21:22

apub IU agree he's an arse and no, I don't think GB does it the smae way

jackbauer Gree have included budgets in their manifesto that spend the money saved by axeing ID cards IIRC

JB - only labour want id cards, the others would all bin them

Brollyflower · 22/04/2010 21:22

GB now wants to "do the right thing"

Sabs1981 · 22/04/2010 21:23
