We need an election logo - any ideas?

We're putting together a new politics section for Mumsnet in honour of the upcoming election and it looks as though we're going to need a MN election logo of some sort. In the spirit of crowdsourcing, we thought we'd throw this out to the Mumsnetters to see if there's someone out there with any inspirational ideas on what it should look like. If we see something we like the look of, we'd be happy to commission it.

How about a stylised version of that lovely little duck-house? That would set the tone nicely

Kaloki · 22/03/2010 14:40

How about this

CatherineHMumsnet · 22/03/2010 15:19

Hmm - perhaps a little too combative!

Oh, are we still interested in politics - I thought from what I read in the Sunday Times yesterday we'd degenerated back into sex obsession

JustineMumsnet · 22/03/2010 23:28

Kaloki - that's v funny - can you do one of Gordon, Dave and Cleggy having a tussle? [asking for the moon]

RubberDuck · 24/03/2010 18:29

Kaloki that's awesome

catinthehat2 · 24/03/2010 18:56

That's pretty good you know, just needs the third lady the two babies and the bottle lying on the floor defeated.

JackBauer · 24/03/2010 19:44

Kalokie, that's brilliant!
I was thinking of normal logo with ballot papers and pens

AntoinetteOuradi · 24/03/2010 21:05

Why not just have the Labour Party logo? Just to clear up any uncertainty about MN's political stance.

mrsbaldwin · 24/03/2010 21:11

AO - who said everyone was Labour? The media and political parties seem to think everyone on MN is a potential swing voter!!

activate · 24/03/2010 21:12

oh god I really think you should get your heads out of your backsides and realise that the mumsnet election is the most farcical fatuous comment ever made. Why the hell are you taking yourselves so seriously?

mrsbaldwin · 24/03/2010 21:17

Activate - er, hi there. Did you drop by from another forum? Anyway, it's not so much that MN is taking itself so seriously, but everyone else sure is. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em and all that...

AntoinetteOuradi · 24/03/2010 21:27

MrsB, nobody said it. But that puketastic photo of Carrie and Justine with Gordon and Sarah Brown is something of a hint. Plus admitting to voting Conservative on MN appears to elicit worse responses than Froot Shoots and Contented Little Baby routines combined.

activate · 24/03/2010 21:27

No I've been here a while but the whole mumsnet election trite shite pisses me off a lot

mrsbaldwin · 24/03/2010 21:35

AO - isn't there a photo of C and/or J with David Cameron also (eg when he did webchat)? I wonder if they invited all party leaders to MN 10th birthday night but as Gordy was going Dave declined (only speculating)?

Opposed · 24/03/2010 22:47

Erm Activate...Did you click on a google link you shouldn't have?

MNHQ, namechanged cos of this But why do we neeeeed to be such a part of the election that we need a separate logo? Shurely if we are courting the political elament we should just have our generic logo, rather than a 'spin off' political MN one?

It all just seems a bit desperate, that we are riding on the election bandwagon, and we have tuned into the mummy scapegoats....

AntoinetteOuradi · 24/03/2010 23:01

MrsB, yes there could be such a photo. I just made the mistake of clicking on the home page, and was confronted by Gordy and the MN crew. I was too horrified to look any further!

Valpollicella · 24/03/2010 23:05

But then you found us

Choral type ,,usic

latedraw · 25/03/2010 01:16

Not what MN is looking for, its a pregometer for the blobsnet election, enjoy Ta Ra

TanteRose · 25/03/2010 05:31

you should have a plate of biscuits for the logo - all GB's, DC's and NG's favourites heaped on a tray

"Mumsnet election - taking a bite of the biscuit"

TanteRose · 25/03/2010 05:34

oops, NC's (Nick Clegg) - actually, did he have a fave biccy? can't remember....

mrsbaldwin · 25/03/2010 07:16

Latedraw - and you're visiting from RobertCrumbnet are ya?

latedraw · 25/03/2010 08:25

Thats very kind of you to say MrsB.Iv had a bit of troble loging on in my normal nicname in the past 12 hours on MN.Do they send a warning befor your banned?

bluecardi · 25/03/2010 09:06

What about a tea cup or mug - most politicians like to be seen with these!

hatwoman · 25/03/2010 12:54
