We need an election logo - any ideas?

We're putting together a new politics section for Mumsnet in honour of the upcoming election and it looks as though we're going to need a MN election logo of some sort. In the spirit of crowdsourcing, we thought we'd throw this out to the Mumsnetters to see if there's someone out there with any inspirational ideas on what it should look like. If we see something we like the look of, we'd be happy to commission it.

Oh, no biscuits, PLEASE! That was soooo stupid, and went on for sooo long.

I must admit, I was thinking along the lines of a Mumsnet Matrix (all plugged in, running about in our virtual reality... for example, I have just realised my baby monitor is behind my laptop screen - what a shaming metaphor for a mother!), but that's probably not an idea anyone wants to get out!

biscuits wouldn't work anyway. they don't really lend themselves to a sharp logo-type image

WingedVictory · 25/03/2010 14:26

Thank goodness, hatwoman!

Hello - we don't really need a logo as such but we are doing some election content - round up of key policies, place to find our webchats, links to politics talk etc - and we thought we might have a go at one... and we always think it's worth picking your brains, as you know.

We did indeed ask all three leaders to our party and would have been delighted if they'd all spoken - the other two leaders told us they really considered it.

No bias here at MNHQ - we have resolved very firmly to keep any personal politics reet out of it and aim to be completely neutral - please do tell us if you think we're being otherwise. Mumsnetters, of course are free to be as biased as they wish...

I will certainly tell you, Justine. I think that the picture of you lot with Gordy was perhaps a bad one to have as the central image for the party, and it does give the - perhaps wrong - impression that MN and Nu/OldLab are hand in glove. Beyond that, though, the whole site has a rather unpleasantly North London Leftie feel to it. It shouldn't have, given that the majority of MNers live beyond the M25 - but perhaps the N London Lefties are just the most vociferous of all the posters. The recent invitation from MNHQ to a pub in Kilburn didn't help.

Moan, moan.

PS If you let me win the random draw for Boden vouchers, all will be forgiven.

AntoinetteOuradi · 27/03/2010 21:19

And finally... Why, why, why am I seeing Sarah Pesky Brown on the right-hand side of my MN screen?????????????

Kaloki · 27/03/2010 22:19

Sorry everyone, had no internet for a week!! (I nearly died)

Justine, I may do that tomorrow! Tecnically I'm meant to be doing web design work for a friend, but that sounds more fun!

A bird flying over a tree, carrying a torch, with a rose shoved up it's arse?

PMSL

AntoinetteOuradi - he's the Prime Minister - so I thought was OK to have him along . Shame Dave couldn't make it too - would have been quite West Side Story. I think the politics of MNetters is a different thing from MNHQ - we try to be neutral - Mnetters can and will be whatever they are, it's rather out of our control (like most things).

And the Observer chose the Kilburn pub - it was a film for their website. And I've got David Willetts to the side of my page...
