Anything we can do to support Ukraine is good. I'm glad Andy Burnham seems to understand this clearly.

Burnham added that he intended to visit Ukraine "soon" following the "very warm meeting" between the pair.

The PM also announced the sharing of the intellectual property behind the UK's new "Stone Cloak" electronic warfare system, enabling Ukraine to produce the technology at scale.

Burnham said: "It will help them to hit their targets and help save Ukrainian lives."

The Stone Cloak jammers are the size of a tablet computer and are designed to block the detection of any drones they are fitted to.

Sort out our own country first. While I'm at it, the foreign aid budget needs a major revisit.

Absolutely. The leadership he’s showing is awe inspiring. Our support of Ukraine is currently one of the very few reasons to be proud of being British.

I can't remember the exact details, but I recall the UK is below the UN requested % of GDP spend. I remember there was talk of trying to meet that target, and that seems to me to be a good aim.

So I agree with you re giving it a re-visit. Because if we are below the target we need to look at how to increase it.

I don't necessarily agree with that but the government is aiming to reduce the amount that is spent on aid. I do agree with the need to spend more on defence so in that sense, acknowledge that they need to find the money somewhere.

Agree. And whether anyone likes it or not, arming Ukraine against Russian expansion is part of our defence too.

Didn’t take him long to come here to ensure his money keeps flowing. This country is a shambles yet we keep helping everyone else. How much is going to be enough because we seem to have an open chequebook when it comes to Ukraine.

Because it’s in the interests of the whole of Europe for Ukraine to win this war. Ukraine is the barrier to stop Russia attempting to take over the whole of eastern Europe and beyond. It stretches credibility that it’s even necessary to point this out.

We can help Ukraine fight Russia, or we can let Ukraine fall and end up fighting the Russia directly when they invade a NATO state.

Fancy your sons being conscripted and packed off to Poland or the Baltics? Thought not.

What is fascinating is that a number of Russian men avoided conscription by moving abroad, places like Turkey. I was talking to a friend and she said their neighbour, in Russia, said they were coming for everyone and so my friend's son was currently in Egypt. I haven't heard an update on these eligible for military service Russian men? What we know is they have recruited ethnic minorities, prisoners and deceived men from India, etc.

My company an office in Moscow before the war - when it started and we closed it down we gave everyone working there the option of transferring to another EMEA office - most took it. Most educated Russians are opposed to both the war and the Putin regime.

They’ve had over $135 billion just from America and the UK and yet this war is still ongoing. How much is it going to take to end it and I don’t think it’s wrong to question where the money is going because we are talking billions upon billions.

That's fine, but do so in the knowledge that it's helping us and for our security.

It takes what it takes. Like most wars, it eventually comes down to economics. Once Russia can no longer sustain offensive operations then we’ve won.

The alternative is to capitulate, and if we do that it starts all over again in a couple of years once Russia has rebuilt weapons stocks, only closer to the UK and likely involving NATO treaty obligations.

You do realise that the foreign aid budget helps people stay in , or near to, their home countries, and reducing it is likely to increase immigration?

It’s almost as if we can’t control our own borders and say no to anyone entering the country.
