No. If you had read what he had said from the start, Im using that as an example of exactly what he is doing to Farage.

People are saying things about NF which NF denies.

Same in this case. I am saying something about the PP which the PP denies.

But the PP expects us to believe him but won't believe NF.

Its just an example of the hypocrisy of the left. One rule for them. Another rule for the right.

Theres a parable about that somewhere!

There is significant testimonial evidence from a range of pupils and teachers for the allegations against Farage.

You just made up a story based on nothing.

Do you have a parable about the hypocrisy of the Conservative party during the Covid lockdown?

One of the "victims" on Radio 4 described his experiences. And then immediately ruined his performance by criticising NF current politics. So Im afraid most reasonable people will suspect bias.

Anyway when did we go for witch hunts? Hes not been found guilty of anything. Theres been no due process. People either believe him or believe the accusers. Nothing else can be done.

Conservatives in covid were useless.

Springonway1 · 03/01/2026 17:24

There's a thing called due process though. Hit jobs done by fair means or foul are demeaning to an already despised political system. And also very obvious!

He's a politician. All of them are up for grabs. Look at how Corbyn was treated to keep him out of power. A relatively spotless man. Farage is nowhere near as clean so it's to be expected.

He's got an extensive track history of being dodgy. Maybe he should be the power behind the throne, because there is too much factual evidence of his nefarious beliefs and actions. He is not suitable to be a leader with the kind of criminals and ne'er do wells he has a lifetime of consorting with.

DuffCooper · 03/01/2026 17:46

Apparently scrutiny of others is fair yet scrutiny of Farage is a witch hunt or a hit job.

Hes been in politics for 30 years. And has been continuously under investigation. People know what they are getting with him and he is still leading the polls. At least he supports the UK.

Corbyn was a relative unknown. When his background in calling Hamas friends, his anti semitism and the fact MI5 etc were concerned about him became public knowledge people felt he was unsuitable to be PM.

As mentioned upthread, Dominic Cummings predict Labour will look at NFs medical records, bank accounts etc to try and get dirt on him. So if there is dirt it will come out. But it must be factual and provable for Reform voters to be able to judge. Unlike this school stuff which doesnt seem to have affected the polls.

Ive got no problem with scrutinty of any politician. Scrutiny with proper consequences is what is needed.

And scrutiny that leads to facts not smears. Facts that are actually provable.

Thats just your own personal view. Blair's major regret is that he banned hunting. Plenty of people disagree with the ban. They haven't seen a fox rip the heads of their hens just for fun for a start. Good on Farage for supporting the countryside. Labour don't understand the rural way of life.

Oh please!
My grandfather was a landowner in Hertfordshire and used to support the hunt - until he actually witnessed (and he stressed "also what I heard from the fox") and he banned the hunt from crossing his land after that - until then he was staunchly pro-hunting and I'm the first generation of my family to be against hunting - he hated foxes but couldn't bear what he witnessed.

Neither of my parents like foxes either but they always taught me to learn about them instead of "just forming an opinion".
Even more tellingly, my father and uncles had farms and both lost hens due to foxes - but like my father said "It's my fault because I didn't secure their runs and sheds properly. A fox can't go to a shop and buy pre-killed and pre-cleaned meat like we do, they have to kill their food themselves which includes blood and gore"
Also a fox hides their food in multiple places to increase their chances of eating but they're often disturbed by humans in the process.

Stop with the mythical rhetoric!!

Also, as a country girl I can assure you that hunting is nowhere near as accepted or wanted as pro-hunters try to make people believe. Most of us aren't into abhorrent animal cruelty.

I'm half expecting you to write a sarcastic reply, but that's up to you as I won't be reading it.
I'm sick of pro-hunters thinking everyone who's against the hunt knows nothing about foxes and knows nothing of the countryside.

Random poster....we were discussing fox hunting because a PP used a photo of NF with the hunt as if it was a bad thing amd meant that Nf was unfit to be PM. I think we've moved on now.

We will have to take your word for what you have revealed about your background of course.

DuffCooper · 03/01/2026 18:16

We have to take everyone on here at their word @Springonway1

For instance, we are being asked to believe that you're a Tory and not a Farage shill.

I'm not a shill. What does that mean? Does it mean I get paid??

I'm not a "Tory" per se. I just believe that as women died for us to vote we should vote. And if I have to vote I have to chose between Reform and the Conservatives and so will probably chose Conservatives at the moment as I agree with what they are saying on the economy and I don't really know what Reform really think on this.

I'm really just a simple middle aged lawyer who gets annoyed these days when people are pilloried at the word of someone else for political reasons and we are all supposed to accept it as fact. It happens all the time! Haven't you noticed? And the dodgy things that happen that are actually proven are just swept under the carpet.

I just feel we, as the British people, surely deserve better. A bit more truth and honesty and politicians that take responsibility for things they have actually done or lied about. And proven to have done or lied about. Rather than witch hunts and slurs.

Rather condescending of you. Leftish snobbery is not nice. Particularly as a lot of Reform voters were the old working class former Labour voters. Like the Red Wall voters.

But Labour don't represent the working class any more I suppose.

ZaZathecat · 04/01/2026 00:25

There are going to a lot of names in those files from all of the political spectrum so I wouldn't get excited over this. However, I despise Farage more many other reasons

It's exactly this left wing arrogance and snobbery, sneering at people who don't share their views which helped cause Brexit and will help increase Reform votes.

Branding someone as thick because you disagree with them doesn't exactly convince them to your views and simply reinforces their beliefs. Plus it's not a good look.

Still I'm sure that you are smart enough to see that.

Better an armchair sneer than violence towards minority groups. You're aware that among Reform protesters and flag flyers, between 1/3 and 1/2 have domestic violence convictions.

Now, of course they're entitled to hold political opinions. And if you're happy to be part of a group of supporters such as those, not to mention the Reform councillors who have publicly espoused racist beliefs and comments, then you do you.

But you're not siding with the great thinkers of the world. So call it snobbery if you want. But siding with thugs and racists isn't an intelligent choice.

I'm no fan of Kier Starmer, but I can tell the difference between him as a politician and Farage.

This is a bit rich coming from a poster who has on this thread called people who don't agree with her mental, called another poster deranged and accused more than one poster of being liars.

In any event I was commenting on you lumping all Reform supporters (Reform currently leading in the polls) in one homogeneous lump of people that are unable to distinguish from a political hit job. Which is of course ridiculous.

That I agree with. Unfortunately for the UK. We are in a terrible mess with little clear road out of it. Everyone is pinning their hopes on getting Labour out in 2029 but with no clue as to the alternative. I don't blame anyone for jumping ship.
