One of our neighbours is part of The Palestine Action group and constantly posts all over social media. His partner is an activist - seems to hate every British Company and is part of the Stop Oil group. She drives a petrol car and has gas central heating. They are very wealthy and pay for others to do everything for them. He appears on TV now and then as a chef and is very smiley but seems to hate Britain. They have divided our neighbourhood. A the moment I ignore them, by avoiding them, which is what they do too. But I wish people could see how hypocritical these people can be. All their wealth is inherited and if you want a typical champagne socialist there you have them.

@Vivienne1000 literally no one agrees with you. You have the answer you need!

"Petrol isn't that bad" 😂😂😂

Is that why Ed Miliband is forcing us all to buy electric cars?

There are many reasons we are being pushed to electric cars. Genuine climate concerns aren’t really one of them. If they were, the infrastructure would be changed to push hydrogen vehicles.

I can tell you my thoughts on supporting Palestine Action. The group has taken a stand against the UK supplying weapons to kill and maim innocent civilians in Gaza. They have occasionally been involved in demos where someone has been hurt but they are far from being terrorists. At demos I have only met peaceable concerned citizens who want the people living in Palestine to be free and safe, including the Jews living there. It's deeply concerning that people with these beliefs are being arrested in the UK.

You need to do some more research. It's a little more than 'being involved in some demos'.

Below is from Hansard, a debate in HoC in September. This is what Dan Jarvis said:

Some of those holding placards in support of Palestine Action may not know the extent of its activities. It has conducted an escalating campaign involving intimidation and sustained criminal damage, including to Britain’s national security infrastructure. Some of its attacks have involved the use of weapons, resulting in alleged violence and serious injuries to individuals. Palestine Action’s members have been charged with violent disorder, grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, criminal damage and aggravated burglary—charges that include, in the assessment of the independent Crown Prosecution Service, a terrorism connection.

These are not the actions of a legitimate protest group, and for a Government to ignore expert security assessments, advice and recommendations would be highly irresponsible. Were there to be further serious attacks or injuries, questions would rightly be asked about why action had not been taken.

surreygirly · 18/12/2025 09:37

If someone is on your social media is a nutter block them and if they talk about it say you do not discuss politics

Remove yourself from the chat. Mute it. Scroll past it. I’m sorry the thread hasn’t turned out into a Palestine bashing one for you.

OR a Hamas supporting one

All the Pro Pally are going to shame, harass and gaslight you here OP, don’t mind their snide comments.

If they flood your neighbour chat with their bilge, you can remind them the chat should stay politically neutral and inclusive

If they act like twats and you have evidence, put it on social media or try to get it to a journalist if worth it

If they bother you and breach the law, don’t hesitate to call the police, it will always look good on their files and for their PR

Thank you.

Ok, well, if we're at the point where the security services, the police, ministers and everyone else in any position of authority is colluding in some state-sanctioned propaganda, then we really are fucked.

Back in the real world however...

TeenagersAngst · 18/12/2025 09:52

And did you read the bit about 'grevious bodily harm with intent' @UxmalFan

Still think it's just some hippies waving flags at demos?

Vivienne1000 · 18/12/2025 09:55

BigFenianEnergy · 17/12/2025 21:40

Petrol isn’t that bad and swapping her already made car for one made of all new parts that haven’t been ethically sourced isn’t exactly environmentally friendly so possibly this is a choice she has made.

sorry, can’t hate them based on what you’ve said. Just continue to avoid them. It could be worse - they could be flag shaggers.

If petrol isn’t bad, why does she sit on bridges and chain herself to railings? Then jet set around the world, use a petrol car and have gas heating?
Shows what a load of tosh that Just stop Oil is.

Truly, in this respect our country is fucked. This is why so many peaceful people are standing up to the erosion of our freedom to peacefully protest. We are not idiots and we do our research.
I know that I won't convince you but thank you for reading this.

Someone who sits on bridges and chains themselves to railings probably isn’t someone to follow for logic 😂 I heard her house is actually heated by hot air…

You have a vote in part because the suffragettes chained themselves to railings, blew stuff up and defaced golf courses.

Get a life, a hobby and spend some time with your loved ones.

They’re not directly impacting you in anyway and this thread has been started to do some good old bashing.

Would you have the same attitude towards someone displaying racist opinions against black people?
The amount of replies excusing antisemitism on here is disgusting, especially given how recent the last attack on Jews was.

You should look up the Suffragettes, you’d be appalled.

You said that someone publicly supporting a terrorist organisation targeting Jews is "not directly impacting her in any way", and that the thread was started for "bashing", as if you dont see anything wrong with that organisation and its aims and views.
If you aren't aware of PAs actions and views then research it a bit before showing support for them.

OneGreySeal · 18/12/2025 12:09

You should look up the Suffragettes, you’d be appalled.

The violence of the Suffragettes was not justified either and historians are divided on whether it turned more people against their cause than for it.

Anyway, violence per se was not the point of my post. I was responding to a PP who claimed that Palestine Action were taking part in peaceful demonstrations which is not the full picture. (Unless PP's claims of state propaganda are true, in which case I take back everything I said.)

MaryPaul · 18/12/2025 14:11

Sounds like you're obsessed with their lives.

BadgernTheGarden · 18/12/2025 14:16

If he's openly supporting them tell the police, it is an offence. Or is it one of the other pro Palestine groups that isn't banned as a terrorist organisation?

xanthomelana · 18/12/2025 14:17

Interesting replies. When I’ve read posts from people with neighbours who have Union Jack or English flags displayed MN thinks they are racist and disgraceful, displaying posters supporting a banned group is fine though 😂
