Donald Trump is an evil @sshat who thinks being president is his own little video game. I really am not sure if he realizes that these thousands of people who is he is practically murdering on a daily basis don't respawn back onto their little base.

He seems completely off his rocker to me, but is still very popular in the US with the way he has no qualms about American interests first (although this doesn't necessarily mean the interests of ordinary Americans) and does seem to be getting things done internationally.

I have a suspicion history will remember him as an eccentric but very successful president.

SayWhatty · 06/12/2025 14:17

YANBU

He makes me sentimental for when we thought GW Bush was a bad president.

TooBigForMyBoots · 06/12/2025 14:18

You have my sympathies @flutterbat.Thanks

Your serial sex offender president is a disaster for all Western democracies, but he is really destroying the USA.Sad

My prediction is that he will be outed as Putin's Puppet and future voters will learn about the power and money behind internet voter manipulation.

The US is no longer our friend, we need to move on

Actually, no, that's not true. They are still our friend, but like a friend that's having a complete mental breakdown, or one of those ones that went all weird and conspiracy theory over lockdown..

We still love them, but we are looking on in horror, and hoping they go back to like they were in the old days, and dreading that they won't...

It's incredibly sad.

Sometimes when your friend turns toxic you have to walk away for your own sanity and protection.

RoamingToaster · 06/12/2025 14:21

What’s most disturbing is everyone going along with it and treating him like some boy king who needs to be spoiled so those around him can keep favour.

Even things like FIFA create a fictional peace prize for him. It’s so transparent. Also businesses just want the easiest way to operate so they placate him with gifts.

Switzerland gave him a gold bar 😂 it’s just madness. Can you imagine being told that when Obama was president. It would seem ridiculous.

On the issue of immigration. The poor control of the border was something that lost the democrats votes. Last I checked a decent amount of Americans approved of his handling of that. Unfortunately the wider immigration policy was always going to result in this kind of cruel targeting as there weren’t the criminal numbers to deport that Trump claimed. Also the sheer size ICE has grown by would result in not the best people joining. It’s a horrible situation. I don’t get the people who voted for Trump this time and are surprised.

"Donald J Trump is one of histories worst presidents (I hate this country)"

  • History's worst*
  • Nothing that Trump does in America affects you here in Britain (assuming you're living in Britain and aren't accessing this site from the USA)

er... withdrawing from the Paris agreement and reversing all movement toward addressing climate change, from the leader of the country with the highest per capita emissions in the world, affects literally everyone on the planet.

ExitViaGiftShop · 06/12/2025 14:43

If you are living in the UK OP, plus any other posters who are currently typing on this thread whist living in the UK, seriously get your own house in order first before you start criticising other nations.

When I observe this denigration of other nations and their leaders, I recoil at the smug ‘I know best attitude’. It makes me realise the empire is still well and truly alive. I bet you subscribe to British Values ( I love how the Brits think they invented being a decent human being) and I expect you believe that you have a ‘world class health service’ and feel ‘privileged’ to have the BBC as your state broadcaster. The UK is a decaying, dysfunctional cess pit. Rape gangs, a town left without a water supply for 6 days, Jimmy Saville, post office scandal, infected blood scandal, and the UK really does excel in paedo cover ups. You seem to thrive at installing nonces into your state establishments, particularly your boarding schools. ‘Lessons will be learnt’ on repeat.

You carry on listening to Radio 4 and drinking your tea, telling yourself that you live in a well functioning democracy. Until you need urgent medical care or take a look at your tax bill……

It’s not one thing or the other. It’s possible to despise Trump and campaign for change/get involved in politics in the UK.
Just as it’s possible to understand a post with spelling errors without the need to correct them - it’s just dickish behaviour.

Edited

Spelling errors are common when the author is angry or in a blind rush. I'm not a grammar cop. I'm a noticer of things and people don't tend to like it. Sorry.

Your trumpism is hanging out of your trousers. Best zip it up.

I'm a woman and I'm almost 26 weeks along with my first baby. Your language is worthy of the gutter, if you don't mind me saying.

He can threaten economic sanctions and stop supplying us with weapons. The US is supposed to be our ally but he is saying the US won't support the UK or Europe unless they toe the line. He has a lot of influence here, you are correct that what he does in the US does not affect most of us directly, unless you are affected by tariffs, or want to visit, live, work or study in the US. But we can see what is going on and it is emboldening the right wing extremists, misogynists and racists here.

America has a lot of influence over the entire world, not just Britain. There is a colonial link between America and Britain, which is why things going on over there have additional significance here in Britain. But to have such a visceral hatred for one man to the point of letting his every action and communication affect daily life is not normal.

Ever heard of a euphemism? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I guess critical thinking isn’t your strong suit.

Yes, I'm aware. You were being rude and you're now being downright condescending.

Have a nice evening.

What terrifies me is the number of ignorant people in the UK that have started supporting conman Farage who follows Trump like a puppet!

I am genuinely concerned about the UK’s future if Reform are part of the government.

I guess you don't live here! What a load of stereotypical garbage.

Of course there are no paedophiles, rapists, murderers, school shootings, poor people in the US and you obviously fully respect all other countries (apart from the UK obviously) and don't think the US is the best place in the world.

And Trump is obviously right that your democratic elections are all rigged, apart from if he wins.

It used to be an aspiration to move to the US, not for many people any more.

BreakingBroken · 06/12/2025 16:06

Trumps press releases are expressed in such a toxic way. I just don’t understand why more politicians are not grey rocking him. Re-militarize fine, but it should be a cold day in hell that it should be with US stuff. Buy and build local!

The banking system over in the USA will affect us most definitely. The 2008 GFC caused chaos worldwide. I remember it well because I lost two jobs in the space of a couple of months.

Otherwise, anything more politically adjacent won't do anything to us. It's just hate for the sake of hate. All this hatred for one man, all that energy that could be channelled into changing things here in the UK, and it all goes to waste.

Empathy. He has been a horrible president for Americans but he has yet to catch up with Bush on the international front
