Or, since it's really all about Trump in the U.S., I'm wondering if maybe it's more local.

I'm not so very insane over it myself, but a lot of other people are.

Trump has always made hay from accusing others of what he's guilty off, as a way to simultaneously defend and attack.

Unfortunately for him, he's now unable to deliver on proof of other's wrongdoing without implicating himself, and his base don't seem willing to let him off the hook.

Because Trump's side previously promised to release the 'client list'. They weaponised it. The implication being that anybody on said list was a nonce.

That's not true, of course. It's not a list of pedophiles; it's a list of people that one of the world's leading elite business men did business with, associated with, invited to his gatherings to impress his friends etc.

Trump's side, for some bizarre reason, thought he was safe, or that he could talk his way out of it, like he did with his other sex scandals. He's now been informed that his name does appear on the 'list'. His supporters, many of whom buy into the conspiracy theories about celebrities, politicians etc being involved in secret abuse rings, are frustrated that he's not released the 'list' and validated all the nonsense they've been spouting.

Now that they're told he's on the list, they're in uproar because they think he has something to hide.

Gosh, that sounds totally bonkers the way his base think. Not that I didn't know they weren't a bit bonkers but this is another level of bonkers.

What can his base do?

I understand that he might not win an election should one be called tomorrow, but in the meantime, what?

Is it just that if the GOP sense the tide turning they’ll no longer put up with his bollocks for the sake of power, and he’ll eventually go, or can something more immediate happen to remove the shitstain?

It's been headline news here yes. I don't really understand why people suddenly care though. Trump has done all sorts of awful, illegal and abusive things that have been widely publicised. Why has his base started caring about this?

It's often been the case that politicians are brought down for relatively trivial things, while they get away with the big stuff that most of us think make them unfit for office

Boris brought down over his support for Chris Pincher

Jonathan Aitken brought down because he let a multi-millionaire pay for his overnight stay in a Paris hotel (when he was also a multi millionaire; the sum involved was trivial to both of them)

Yeah but the allegations against Trump arent exactly trivial, its just that his base now see them as credible.

Some Trump supporters are now going with "well, if he was engaged in sex trafficking and raping girls, its not a problem unless they were 12 or younger".

Where is the Oh My God emoji!? I thought it was just the laughing one and shocked one that disappeared!

That’s very worrying if true, because it will be used to justify others.
