Who would you vote for in a general election tomorrow?

If the next GE was tomorrow, who would you vote for? I've been unimpressed at decisions made by Labour since they came in and just don't have much faith in their long term plans. I've never even considered voting Tory, but also don't really see Labour doing much more to improve things for anyone. Will be interesting to see how things are in a few years time when the next GE comes round. Am I missing some really good stuff Labour are implementing?

Whoever I thought could run a government. I just care about there being grown-ups in charge. All sorts of people promise all sorts of simple solutions to complex problems and populist measures which can’t be implemented. But I quite like our politicians to be boring, just running the country with all the compromises and challenges that come with the job.

I agree with this.

not happy with them but live in Scotland and desperately want an end to the SNP

It sounds like Reform have the best chance to get Labour out. Will you vote them?

The best way to remove Labour is to vote for their nearest challenger in the constituency you live in. That doesn’t necessarily mean the party most likely to win the overall GE.

It’s a bit of a moot point though as Labour has never got anywhere near winning the seat where I live. The Conservative majority is huge and even Reform are unlikely to win here.

Midnightlove · 28/06/2025 23:30

Reform

fanmepls · 28/06/2025 23:34

Those of you who are going to vote Reform - what exactly you expect them to do?

I think it's

Stopping the boats
Reducing taxes
Improving public services

😆😆😆😆

fanmepls · 28/06/2025 23:35

They are quite simply appalling and will destroy the country as they are economically illiterate.

They aren't any worse than the Tory government who fucked up for years.

Exactly. Once we got all benefits of Brexit

Genuinely shocked by so may people saying Reform.

ncforschoolhelp · 28/06/2025 23:52

Those of you voting Reform: why are you so fucking stupid? Genuine question.

fanmepls · 28/06/2025 23:57

why are you so fucking stupid?

It's unbelievable that they haven't learned from Brexit, we've been here already people!

I do think many don't want to acknowledge the realities of our economic situation so they would rather choose bullshit. I'm sure plenty don't believe the bullshit but they will still vote for someone lying to them because they prefer the lie.

Try going back over the thread. So far it just 15.

15 out of 150 posts.

Cattenberg · 29/06/2025 00:25

Labour. I'm disappointed with them so far, but I really want someone to sort out our public services and I think Labour are our only realistic hope.

The Tories appear to have spent the last 14 years plundering our assets and Reform would be a disaster. Their policies are so reactionary and ill-informed. For example, they want to launch an investigation into our local council finances "to find out where the money has gone". But the council publishes its accounts every year (and they are already audited), so we already know exactly where the money has gone! Mainly on social services...

Theblackbirdissinging · 29/06/2025 00:29

How many for Labour boys3?

😀 I should have done a proper tally chart. More than 15. But I doubt much beyond 30 or so. I’m not sure if I saw any firm Tory commitment.

Labour.
Pretty happy with what's been done do far and the fact they've listened when proposals aren't supported by alot of the PLP and made changes. Like decent politicians should do.

There is a link to see what they've done but tbh it's easier for people to just to state and share Labour have done nothing and they are "all the same". People can vote for who they want in a democracy but but there very much are fundamental differences between the beliefs of the different parties and the way in which they will govern. How this i
impacts on you depends very muchh on whether you are wealthy or not or healthy or not.

This is what Keir Starmer has done for you so far

The Tories presided over 14 years of decline, undermined our public services, and wrecked our economy. Keir Starmer's Labour Government is getting on with the job, fixing the foundations of our country and delivering the long-term change Britain needs.

I'm politically homeless and there isn't anyone that I actually want to vote for. I'm underwhelmed by the Labour government so far and disappointed that they haven't done more in their first year. Still have hopes that they'll turn it around, I guess time will tell.

At the next election, I will vote tactically for whichever candidate is most likely to defeat Reform. That might even involve holding my nose and voting for a Tory, which I would never have imagined having to contemplate. But a Reform victory would be a complete disaster for the country, so I will do whatever I have to do to try to prevent that. We already have them running our local council and it's a shit show.
