Did Elon Musk's son mouth to Trump to "STFU", & is Musk using his son as a shield?

Yesterday's press conference was very strange, Musk looked exhausted, threatened and stressed, unprofessional and out of his depth. I found it strange that his young son was with him, and found it odd that Musk placed the little boy on his shoulders mid press conference.

Why subject the little boy to an adult press conference? It's clearly a stressful, adult environment. Is the child an emotional support or shield for Musk?

I think Elon is starting to crack, and the son is being used as an emotional support person for the fragile parent.

Did the little boy, mouth to Trump, "Shut the fuck up"? If he did, surely Trump will start putting guardrails in place with Musk.

Who is the other parent of that child, why is he being paraded about, and placed in stressful situations, which are inappropriate for a child?

My son is a 14 year old schoolboy. Donald Trump is the leader of an extremely powerful country. Are you seriously equating a kid exaggerating a bit during a conversation with his mum to Trump proclaiming to the world that Ukraine started the war with Russia? Okay then….

I’m not an American, I just live here. The impression I get from those around me is that they don’t want Musk to be in command because he wasn’t elected, doesn’t seem mentally stable and doesn’t have the interests of ordinary citizens at heart. If anyone should be reigning Trump in, it’s representatives from his own party, who were elected and are supposed to be working on behalf of their constituents.

Yes @MrsFrumble. Please do your civic duty by making sure your son knows that Donald Trump is only lying 98% of the time

This is true, he says he is called Donald Trump, beyond that it's pretty much all lies.

Can't think what it is about the ketamin addled, megalomaniac, nazi saluting, eugenics supporting, father of 13 ( maybe more) with 6 women, Musk that people are worried about.. 🤔

This place is becoming more like X-Twitter by the day 🙄

I wouldn’t mind if they had some proper arguments. Maybe a reasonable explanation as to why Trump would make such obviously false claims about the Ukraine war if he isn’t a Russian stooge. Or on the subject of DOGE, a coherent explanation of how firing 600 people in one go from the largest employer in the already-impoverished state I live in isn’t going to damage the local economy. Or a sincere justification as to why the job done by my neighbour - who works for the VA helping combat veterans with PTSD - is apparently a waste of taxpayer’s money. I’d genuinely appreciate reading those. But instead it’s just glib quips about “derangement syndrome”, or some variation of “at least Trump knows what a woman is” (here) or “cry harder libtard” (X).

You're right that a big (perhaps puzzling) objection to Musk is that he's not elected. But I think your other points are more valid for me - he's wacko and self-centered. Also totally ignorant about government.
Of course, you're also absolutely right that Trump's own Republicans should be reining him in. Luckily, that saved America in the 1970s, when they told President Nixon he had to resign. One of Trump's few great skills, though, is that he's a consummate bully. He has his own people cowed.

if only he would go bankrupt!

Perhaps Trump can bankrupt Musk. After all, Trump himself went through several bankruptcies.

MrsFrumble · 28/02/2025 01:28

I agree @MsAmerica . I was trying to be objective about Musk, as there seem to be a few posters around who think he’s a genius and the saviour of mankind, so wouldn’t accept “he’s a drug-addled fruit loop” as an argument against his involvement. That he’s unelected is indisputable though! The poster who suggested that he was ideal person to reign in Trump seems to have vanished though so probably wasn’t interested in a reasoned debate 😂

MrsFrumble · 28/02/2025 02:06

I’d like to know what the currently-cowed republican representatives think is going to happen next time they’re up for election if they don’t start fighting for their constituents. Even here in deep red Oklahoma there’s discontent about the 900 federal jobs lost over the weekend at USAF base and FAA academy in OKC, two of the biggest employers in the state. This is a poor state, and when the proposed cuts to Medicaid and SNAP come it’s really going to hurt.

qazxc · 28/02/2025 02:08

X was saying for people to shush but it seem to have been towards some press in the room that were whispering when Musk was talking, not Trump.
Grimes is not happy that her child was publicly exposed in this way. Her view seems to be that he is too young to consent to be (for the lack of a better word) famous and that there are safety implications with being recognisable as there have been kidnapping and death threats.

MrsFrumble · 28/02/2025 02:31

… And I see in the news just now that DOGE are currently ravaging the NOAA. That’s going to go well with tornado season coming up here in the Great Plains 🙄

The republicans are undoubtedly working hard in the background to manipulate voting in their own favour fir the next time. There has been some concerns over Kamala Harris votes and how they became 'invalid'. Think it was a significant number ( millions) but i wont quote how many or where, as I don't have the facts to hand. There is also a suggestion that trumps MO of creating chaos ( the shock and awe) ie deflecting attention away from his manipulations in the background, is to push through legislation that would allow him to be there for a 3rd term and push through voting limitations. While I'm sure he won't be on the best of fettle by his third term, all it takes is for him to stick around until the third term begins and then he can hand over to Vance or some other crackpot republican to carry on his despotic legacy.

During his first term he demonised the voting system and other than the actual voting electronic voting systems ( which eventually successfully sued them ) he also attacked mail in voting, because he knew it favoured Democrats in blue states. So he got the head of the mail service to limit mail in points in democratic areas. ( So people had to travel for miles to post a vote). Think he also limited voting booths so that there were thousands queuing to vote, ie worse than normal. I can't recall all his tactics but there were a number of ways they tried to manipulate the system.

Obviously he lost that time but I have wondered why he seemed so lacksimadaisical during his most recent campaign. Nothing would surprise me about how far he would sink to win.

What grates trump the most, I think, is that he never got to beat 'sleepy Joe'. Sleepy Joe beat him the man he derided so kuch and he saw as beneath him and this is why trump didn't want to accept the outcome.of the election . As much as he wanted the presidency this time, he also wanted to be able to say he beat Joe back...and then Kamala Harris stepped in. Even though he won, he really really really wanted to beat Joe....and be able to say it....but he will never be able to and I'm sure that grates on him.

I think one of several reasons that Musk totes this child around as an accessory is to reinforce his message that people should have more children.

And that men with lots of children are more masculine and more successful.

He rails against population decline in the US and around the world, including on racial lines. Along with JD Vance and others, he is promoting the concept that it is anti social behaviour to not have children.

Nice to see some new Handmaids Tale episodes are coming out.

Edited

Ironic as he's ofc hardly seeming Luke a good dad in doing this. It just reinforces that he's a creep who thinks masculinity means a harem of different women & primitive seed-spreading w no concern for the resulting children

And untrue. He's always carried the kid on his shoulders, from as soon as he could hold his head up. The vast team of elite bodyguards that go everywhere with Musk (even to the toilet!) are his shield against attack. If anything, he's keeping X close to him to protect him, there was an incident a few years ago when a stalker went after the child and started trying to break into the car he was travelling in.

I see, that's so awful. But isn't there any other option to protect the kid apart from carrying him everywhere? Surely other billionaires have a better way? Surely all this public attention for the kids will increase the risk of stalkers.

So you say I should feel silly for not agreeing musk is a genius and give me a lecture on how super intelligent and famous he is, then post this?

ok then.

i admit I don’t know the man but for ffs he called a diver rescuing those Thai boys a paedophile. I don’t care what university he went to (Stanford- what, like it’s hard*- to paraphrase- the 17th ranked uni in the US? Surely if he’s that bright he’d have been top 10 at least) but the man sounds like an idiot. Plus some of the crap he comes out with recently, really, that sounds like an intelligent person?

Geniuses can be dumb in everyday life/social skills etc.

AliasGrace47 · 15/06/2025 11:24

I used to like Musk and you're completely right that his products need to succeed & bring benefit to the world, however the creator behaves

I hope he can behave better soon somehow...he's like an overgrown child at times w regard to public behaviour. I remain convinced there is a better way to protect his kids than carry them everywhere, and I don't like the IVF/multiple mums antics. I agree IVF is common in those circles, but that doesn't make it any more ethical

I didn't know that about the pedo guy context. I still think it was completely wrong to say and I think the excuse is a bit weak as calling someone a pedo guy isn't usually used like that & it's one of the most taboo insults. But v odd the diver was so rude out of nowhere.

The Ashley St Clair kid has since been confirmed ofc.

Also good to know his family were anti apartheid. I think the Nazi salute Lee to misinfo/speculation. It was v wrong but no excuse for misinformation, thanks for filling out the picture on him.

Read it again. Every single thing I have said is either a proven fact, or clearly stated to be a rumour, like her removing the children from Japan. I don't know for sure that happened - what is certain is that they were living in Texas, then she took two of the children to California and soon afterwards he filed for custody in Texas. And she responded by ordering the children would not be able to be removed from California whilst the court case was ongoing. That is very easy to verify as it is all in public court filings.

You think my conclusion that Musk probably didn't take his son (who he's been almost inseparable from since he was born) to California as he didn't want him to be taken from him is "giving him the benefit of the doubt and [my] most generous interpretation"? You think, despite many accounts that he is utterly devoted to the child, that it's much more likely that bad man Musk doesn't actually care about him at all, he only refused to take him to California to annoy his ex - the poor innocent mother who we absolutely do know from court filings did choose to leave that child with him? Who in her own interview stated that she didn't want the kid to call her 'mom' as she didn't feel like his mother, and that she wanted him to call her 'Claire' instead? Again, very easily provable - just need to google (and be open-minded enough to accept something that goes against what you've already decided must be true...)

The woman I called odd is someone I know nothing about - you brought up some random crap about an unnamed 'conservative influencer' that I hadn't heard about (and as you can probably tell, if I've not heard about it it must be a pretty niche rumour!), and you're complaining I'm being unreasonable for not sticking for proven facts and giving people the benefit of the doubt?! 😂😂😂

Ok, I actually thought you wanted to know the truth about some of the stuff that was said about him. But you're clearly prepared to believe absolutely anything at all, however implausible, if it fits with your decision that 'Elon Musk bad'. And discount anything, even publicly available court documents and statements from his exes, if it contradicts that position. I'm genuinely embarrassed for you.

Oh dear.....I love Grimes' music but I didn't realise she was such an unpleasant person. Actually, I had heard rumours she had extreme political opinions, but not sure if truem

I can see why Musk would want the kids w him, I'm sure he loves them. U still think there are better ways to protect them than make them public figures

They seem to have been foremost concentrating on cutting as fast as possible without any thought to the repercussions. They've not only cut NOAA, which will be a huge problem in terms of weather forecasts - Trump also wants to phase out FEMA, so that states will have to fund their own emergencies.
