Did Elon Musk's son mouth to Trump to "STFU", & is Musk using his son as a shield?

Yesterday's press conference was very strange, Musk looked exhausted, threatened and stressed, unprofessional and out of his depth. I found it strange that his young son was with him, and found it odd that Musk placed the little boy on his shoulders mid press conference.

Why subject the little boy to an adult press conference? It's clearly a stressful, adult environment. Is the child an emotional support or shield for Musk?

I think Elon is starting to crack, and the son is being used as an emotional support person for the fragile parent.

Did the little boy, mouth to Trump, "Shut the fuck up"? If he did, surely Trump will start putting guardrails in place with Musk.

Who is the other parent of that child, why is he being paraded about, and placed in stressful situations, which are inappropriate for a child?

Musk has made his beliefs about the Great Replacement Theory quite clear in the past and that often feeds into a belief that what the world really needs is lots more white children.

JimHalpertsWife · 14/02/2025 14:12

There is a tiktok going round which clearly shows the child saying "you shut up....you are not president" etc.

It's hilarious. Left wing fantasists making it up as they go along.

u3ername · 14/02/2025 14:20

From what I saw on Instagram X said 'you're not the president, go away' to Trump.
And the 'strong reaction' from the mother seems to be a tweet response from her to someone who told her about it, in which she said the child shouldn't be there but she's glad he was polite...

Honestly, it's hard to know what the boy actually said and how much the mum cared. But the fans are fanning. Great example of a father apparently. Children should be involved more in their parents' life and not just left with nannies, apparently. Isn't Elon, the genius, a wonderful parent.

A corrupt person elected as president sitting on a desk, a man dressed smart-casual with a cap on standing next to him and mumbling 'some of the things we say will be incorrect', a child with a gold chain mucking about.
And the oddest thing is - many people love it.

X being the shortened name of the child, not what is left of twitter*

Givemethreerings · 14/02/2025 14:45

Interesting article about how Musk is pushing his pro-natalist agenda using classic social media influencer tactics.

Eg, by simply taking his kid everywhere - it’s hard to find a photo of Musk without his little boy in hand - and as he’s the defacto President there are no limits.

'Little X, a high IQ individual', says Trump.

Well, Little Twitter told him what he needs to do. He better listen to the high iq kid.

bloody hell.

We all know what Musk would have to say if a woman brought her child to work.

How long do we give it before there is the mother of all fallings out between Trump and Musk? I'm betting by September.

There are two massive egos at play here. It's only a matter of time isn't it.

MrsFrumble · 14/02/2025 15:34

The poor kid is a human shield. Hilarious when he wiped his bogeys on the Resolute Desk though. There was absolute hoo haa from the Republicans years ago when Obama was photographed without his suit jacket in the Oval Office, and now Elon’s there in a T-shirt with his kid smearing snot everywhere 🤦🏻‍♀️

It’s also a bit disturbing to see a 4 year old tell an adult to “shut your mouth” (some reports here in the USA have it as “shut your fucking mouth” - there do seem to be some extra syllables between “your” and “mouth”.) Autistic DS said some pretty blunt and tactless things at that age, but he would never have said that to an adult.

Toddlerhelpplease123 · 14/02/2025 15:48

Im assuming musk has a lot of money in crypto and shares generally. No one builds that wealth that fast without that.

I am pretty sure the US are manipulating the market right now purposefully to depress the crypto cycle; because who wants Russia and other adversaries doubling their money right now.

Musk blatantly knows this. If the post halving cycle fails to materialise for crypto then it could be really for musk.

So I’m not surprised he’s stressed!

HotTake · 14/02/2025 16:07

Some people online are saying Musky man is busy dismantling all the agencies that are investigating him/his company. Trying to get ahead of the game and claiming it's to find wasted resources.

Here's little Twitter again some time ago saying something about "Space X...and quietly just do whatever we want" while his dad was being interviewed.

Hopefully that child will be who exposes Elon completely one day. Most of his other 11 children don't talk to him.

I'm sort of past caring. What can we little people do? This is utter insanity.

If it weren't so serious it would be faintly embarassing.

Musk is making a big mistake parading his son in the public eye.

I accept that he has a personality disorder but children need shielding from the spot light. How many off is children have disowned him...I know at least 2.

I think Musk is in financial bother, falling sales of Tesla, Twitter losing subscribers and it would appear he's being largely subsidised by the US state....I can see storm.cloubds ahead for Musk....worlds richest to worlds first richest to bankrupt.

If Musk were to go bankrupt (many, like me, would never buy a Tesla or have deleted their Twitter accounts), he'll disappear quickly from Trump's circle.

Which of his other children don't talk to him? I've only heard of the trans one, he's pictured reasonably regularly with the other 4 from his first marriage. He's also frequently pictured with two he had with that Shivon women, and I would have thought they'd be too young to go no-contact anyway? Same as the the others he had with Grimes, X is the eldest of them so I can't see how any of that set can have chosen to not talk to him?

That is sick.

And untrue. He's always carried the kid on his shoulders, from as soon as he could hold his head up. The vast team of elite bodyguards that go everywhere with Musk (even to the toilet!) are his shield against attack. If anything, he's keeping X close to him to protect him, there was an incident a few years ago when a stalker went after the child and started trying to break into the car he was travelling in.

Musk is a genius? Not convinced. Made a lot of money yes, supposedly from someone else’s idea, but I don’t think he’s anywhere near hawking/jobs/gates/woz et al.

Why do people say things like this? I genuinely don't understand why people just invent stuff about someone because they don't like them? It's not hard to find out actual facts about Elon Musk, he's super famous! Surely you realise that other people will know you're talking nonsense, and think you sound rather silly?

He got both a physics degree and an economics degree from Penn State (currently 17th best US university). He did an internship in satellites, and another in electric cars where he focussed on the battery technology. He was then accepted to Stanford (currently the world's 3rd best university, 2nd best for engineering) for a doctorate in material science. Hardly the education of an idiot! He then deferred to start a company with his brother, which included the very first navigation software on the internet. Pretty sure it was also the first business directory on the internet.

He sold it for millions and started [the original] X.com, which was a payment company. They then merged with Co-Finity, which was another payment company that had been started by Peter Thiel (and others). They made Musk the CEO, and later changed the name to PayPal. Which famously sold $1.5 billion, and as Musk was the major shareholder he made the most. Some of which he invested in a tiny start-up that wanted to build electric cars. They had no cars, but they had a cool name - Tesla. Musk created the cars.

He also started Space X entirely from scratch. There was no other company even attempting most of what he attempted, and the vast majority of the technology for both Space X and Starlink has been created entirely by him and his team. I'm not sure how much technical input he has now, but when they first started he was certainly heavily involved in the engineering for both companies. Every single person who has actually worked with him, including some of the very best scientists and engineers in the world today, agree he is phenomenally clever. Actually, so does everyone who has even the most basic understanding of what he has accomplished, even people who hate him like Zuckerberg, Bezos, Altman, Bill Gates etc. In fact, Gates recently said the reason he's so scary is that he's so smart.

He obviously has a lot of issues, and he seems to have developed some deeply unpleasant views. And he shouldn't be dragging the poor kid about like a teddy bear. I've been following him, or at least his tech, for years and he has definitely changed. But nonetheless he's very obviously extraordinarily intelligent and has already achieved more than almost any other human in history. His current problematic behaviour doesn't negate that, and if people really understood how much he has done for the world they wouldn't be hoping he goes bankrupt or disappears from view, they'd be hoping he gets whatever help he needs.

Do you think genius’ still exist? I always think nowadays we know that genius is just an old fashioned word for autistic. Musk being being the obvious example.

HowardTJMoon · 14/02/2025 20:09

@callmej I know that's the history that Musk wants people to believe but it's not true. He's not an engineer. He's a businessman and financier. He leveraged the wealth of his family to bankroll his start in business and took it from there.

Now, fair play to the guy, he's an incredibly successful businessman. He can woo investors with the absolute best of them. He's also very good at spotting gaps in the market and exploiting them, and he's very good at building up teams of experts to deliver what he promises. But an engineer he is not. He didn't build the technology for SpaceX; what he did was provide the money for that technology to be built. Same for Starlink - he doesn't have the skills to design a satellite, build a satellite, build the comms systems for that satellite... What he can do, and what he does very well, is provide the money for that satellite to be built. Same, to a very large extent, for Tesla Inc. He got the money that allowed a lot of engineers to build the products they sell. He didn't design the drivetrains, the battery systems, or the charging networks. What he did was see that those things were important and got the cash to make them happen.

Since you seem to be quite the Musk fan, with words like 'super famous', I'll point out, in the interests of accuracy, that his degree was from UPenn, not Penn State. Totally different universities. UPenn is much more highly regarded. Musk is still a wanker.

Additionally, I think you might want to mention the $465 million that the Obama administration lent him to bail Tesla out? Good thing no one like Musk was beavering away making sure the government didn't fund any green initiatives or Musk would very likely be just another failed inventor guy.

I'm not sure... there's a reason I didn't use that word when describing him! From what I've read, he is very obviously highly intelligent but I think there are certainly more intelligent people than him, including many in his own companies. I think his 'genius' is more in how he sees the world. He seems to be able to spot what others miss, and has an extraordinarily talent for strategy. That may well be down to his autism, but I definitely don't think all autistic people are geniuses! Whether all geniuses are autistic is a different matter... But I'm not sure I personally like the term anyway as it is entirely subjective.
