Did Elon Musk's son mouth to Trump to "STFU", & is Musk using his son as a shield?

Yesterday's press conference was very strange, Musk looked exhausted, threatened and stressed, unprofessional and out of his depth. I found it strange that his young son was with him, and found it odd that Musk placed the little boy on his shoulders mid press conference.

Why subject the little boy to an adult press conference? It's clearly a stressful, adult environment. Is the child an emotional support or shield for Musk?

I think Elon is starting to crack, and the son is being used as an emotional support person for the fragile parent.

Did the little boy, mouth to Trump, "Shut the fuck up"? If he did, surely Trump will start putting guardrails in place with Musk.

Who is the other parent of that child, why is he being paraded about, and placed in stressful situations, which are inappropriate for a child?

I know Grimes is the mother and she was not happy at all apparently.

The last bit is a strong rumour going around. It is weird but the world is becoming very weird.

MissyB1 · 13/02/2025 10:19

Even Trump looked pissed of at the kid being there. I think Musk thinks his kid is a cool accessory 🙄

CreationNat1on · 13/02/2025 10:22

I think Musk needs him, to keep him calm. It's unfair on the child. Musk is looking increasingly unhinged.

I think Musk just wheeled his child out to portray himself as a normal family man rather than the ketamine-fuelled, tinfoil-hatted conspiracy freak he really is. But because he's a ketamine-fuelled etc he's incapable of recognising when such a display would be appropriate.

Tillow4ever · 13/02/2025 11:07

I thought he brought the kid along so the press might go easier on him with questions...

TheignT · 13/02/2025 11:13

He's taken that child to other events I think. I'm sure I've seen him before but must confess it's just been me half watching a news programme so I might be wrong.

Stressybetty · 13/02/2025 11:17

Agree it seemed odd. Seemed to be posed as his son being given the opportunity to meet Trump in the oval office. Mum Chelsea Grimes is/was apparently suing for custody/access as he has 3 kids with her and she hasn't seen them for 6 months or something. She seems a bit odd as well though! I thought initially that he's trying to expose his son to his world to bring him up with an awareness of his work and life, the media etc. I think Musk is brilliant, a genius but clearly on the spectrum and exhausted. Agree kids is there for emotional support.

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 13/02/2025 11:41

Isn't Elon off his face on Ketamine these days? Not sure he should be in charge of a child at all....

MsAmerica · 14/02/2025 00:24

I've not heard that, @CreationNat1on, and I'm surprised you didn't include a link.

I find it very unlikely. I also don't think the child has the least understanding about the stress, so it doesn't bother me.

Trump, unlike, say, Obama, has no rapport with children. Not even his own, when they were little.

Even so I don't think my boss would be impressed if I turned up to a really important meeting with a 4 year old in tow!

dubsie · 14/02/2025 08:23

Musk is making a big mistake parading his son in the public eye.

I accept that he has a personality disorder but children need shielding from the spot light. How many off is children have disowned him...I know at least 2.

I think Musk is in financial bother, falling sales of Tesla, Twitter losing subscribers and it would appear he's being largely subsidised by the US state....I can see storm.cloubds ahead for Musk....worlds richest to worlds first richest to bankrupt.

if only he would go bankrupt!

He looks like a man cosplaying at something. I assume tagging the kid along is just his latest obsession and sooner or later he'll get bored and do something else instead.

In the meantime, Uncie Donny has to play babysitter, or upset the sponsor.

Musk is a genius? Not convinced. Made a lot of money yes, supposedly from someone else’s idea, but I don’t think he’s anywhere near hawking/jobs/gates/woz et al.

AquaPeer · 14/02/2025 13:40

I’ve heard thoughts that it is a power play against trump- he is also casually/ poorly dressed- there is a dress code for the Oval Office and everyone else present including Trump had followed it.

basically a fuck you I’ll turn up how I want and bring my kid if I want don’t forget you need me and I’m not inferior or subservient to you.

pretty bloody bold in front of the president- trump looked very unhappy

Very much doubt that Musk considers Trump his boss!

HotTake · 14/02/2025 13:43

Musky man is using his child as some shield- emotional, mental and physical. He's a despicable man who's as bad or even worse than First Lady, Trumpina.

His child said something that sounds like "You're not the President, you need to go away" and "I want you to shush your mouth". I can't quite make it out fully but yeah both times, what he said was interesting for a 4 year old. He's not 2. He must be hearing all sorts from his idiotic father or some people around him.

Why a 'foreign-born' civilian would be in the Oval office answering questions and holding court standing over the so-called president is beyond me. Why no one (the people that matter, not just takking heads online) is actually protesting this bs is mind boggling.

Chelcee Grimes is a different person to the Grimes (actual name Claire Boucher) who is mother to Musk’s kids.
God knows how I know this stuff

GCAcademic · 14/02/2025 13:50

We all know what Musk would have to say if a woman brought her child to work.

How long do we give it before there is the mother of all fallings out between Trump and Musk? I'm betting by September.

Mila6464 · 14/02/2025 13:53

He started carrying the child on his shoulders after the insurance fellow was shot. The child appears to be his shield against attack

That is sick.

Givemethreerings · 14/02/2025 14:01

I think one of several reasons that Musk totes this child around as an accessory is to reinforce his message that people should have more children.

And that men with lots of children are more masculine and more successful.

He rails against population decline in the US and around the world, including on racial lines. Along with JD Vance and others, he is promoting the concept that it is anti social behaviour to not have children.

Nice to see some new Handmaids Tale episodes are coming out.
