Has he really done a nazi salute in the trump inauguration celebration? 🤦🏻‍♀️

That will not happen. Yes he has pulled off many things but that will never happen.

I don't know, it does seem we are living in the twilight zone. A lot of things we think "would never happen" have happened or are happening. And trump can probably just sign an executive order to make it so.

TiredCatLady · 20/01/2025 23:51

In a week that marks 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz.

I have no words.

amber763 · 20/01/2025 23:36

I watched it live. You people are ridiculous.

I've just watched it, twice (so four salutes). It isn't a Nazi salute. Much as I dislike the narcissistic nerd, that was some ridiculous gesture meant to look heartfelt. It wasn't a salute of any kind.

The Nazi salute extended the arm in front of the body, ideally at 45°, never to the side. It was not preceded by a clutch of the chest.

Labelling any old arm extension a 'Nazi salute' just makes you look absurd. That said, I imagine President Wotsit's fans will adopt it, because they are absurd and will think it's some right-wing symbol.

I’ve got a great deal of time for your posts Ken, but here, imho you are being naive.

He’s on the biggest stage in the world right now. The nazi salute is a very specific thing, arm straight and fingers straight too, pointing up. He did it twice and he knows exactly what he’s doing, and who he’s doing it to.

I agree. We need to wake up, this is happening. Unbelievable, yes, but also, as a previous poster said, predictable. It is absolutely chilling.

Thats ypur opinion.

I disagree.

I think it is a nazi salute.

Oh come on, they're probably just excited. Or have Asperger's. Or something.

Clearly just waving their arms in excitement and the photographer caught them at an awkward moment.

You know, I know quite a few people with ASD diagnoses, but I can't remember any of them ever doing accidental fascist salutes while otherwise appearing entirely in control of their actions...

Applecharm25 · 20/01/2025 23:53

I knew trump was very right wing.

They're getting bolder.

And in the United States, bigot racist is ushered into office on Martin Luther King day.

Surreal.

crumblingschools · 20/01/2025 23:55

Well let’s just see what the fans start doing and then we will see whether it looks like a Nazi salute

Hillary17 · 20/01/2025 23:56

I wasn’t surprised, this has been on the cards since the election. It’s disgusting but predictable honestly. America is no longer the country it used to be. The American dream is officially dead. It all feels so scary.

Choppedtoms · 20/01/2025 23:56

It’s not a Nazi salute. He raises his arm in the air, briefly, twice, while saying “my heart goes out to you”. Watch the actual clip with sound.

Except practically everyone else is in disagreement with you and everyone knows what they saw.

I did. I posted it. The guy is a nazi fuckhead.

I live in the US. I am absolutely horrified. The next 4 years will be chaos.

Honestly, I'm hoping for chaos. The first four years of Trump were chaos and, whilst the whole thing was deeply embarrassing, the damage was relatively limited.

What terrifies me much more is the thought that this time they have an organised and disciplined plan, and the team to bring it off.

Bring back covfefe. Chaos is good.

merrymelodies · 20/01/2025 23:58

Asshole

I've watched it.

It's a nazi salute. In my opinion

What's different between the pictures?

They look very similiar to me

Hedgerow2 · 20/01/2025 23:59

Actually I've just watched the video again and he's thanking the crowd for electing Trump and the 'salute' is accompanied by the words 'my heart goes out to you'. So he thumps his chest and flings his arm out as if he's miming his heart going out to the crowd. He turns around and does the same to the people behind him.

It does very much look like a nazi salute but I'm not sure that was his intention. However he ought to have had enough sense to realise what it would look like.

Those photos look the same!

WonderingWanda · 21/01/2025 00:00

SassK · 20/01/2025 23:01

He's physically very awkward in his gestures. He said he was directing love as he threw his arm out. Nothing to see here.

You are delusional!

crumblingschools · 21/01/2025 00:02

But wouldn’t you sweep your arm round if you were spreading the love from your heart not stick your arm out at that sort of angle that he has done

locomotive98 · 21/01/2025 00:03

It doesn't look like a nazi salute in the video. He puts his hand on his heart then kind of flings his arm out to the side. The photograph is misleading. I think he's thanking people and gesturing to them, because they made it happen (the election victory).

We all know better than to stick our arm straight in the air.

Especially when giving a speech in front of loads of people!

Hoover2025 · 21/01/2025 00:04

Insane. I don’t quite know what’s happening right now. It’s a bit of a surreal nightmare.
