It's almost like we are allowed different views and not to be offended. Is that okay or not?

Unlike you I never mocked your posts.
I never mentioned offence either, you did.

Hey, @sparrowse

Why do you keep posting laughing emojis on my posts? Is that your version of 'having different views'?

I suppose it could be considered the intellectual debate of the not very bright.

theDudesmummy · 21/01/2025 15:54

They keep putting laughing emojis on my post too. I don't see what is funny personally.

You're right I'm not very bright. But I am proud of my Jewish heritage and I'm not offended by trolls.

I gave him benefit of the doubt when he called that heroic diver a paedo

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he worked his arse off to get Donald Trump elected

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he paid someone to level up his computer game character so that he could lie and claim that he was one of the best players in the world. And then I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he did it again with a different game

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he said the UK was headed for civil war in the summer when there were riots

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he said that only Reform could save the UK

I have him the benefit of the doubt when he said that only the neo-Nazi connected AfD party could save Germany

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he tweeted 'Free Tommy Robinson'

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he tweeted Tommy Robinson's disinformation film and told people to watch it

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he said that Keir Starmer was complicit in the mass rape of children

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he said that Jess Phillips was a rape genocide apologist

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he threw Nigel Farage under the bus saying Reform needed a new leader because Farage disagreed with him about Tommy Robinson

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he decided to fund Tommy Robinson's legal case

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he threw 2, what looked very much like Nazi salutes at Trump's inauguration and then laughed it off on twitter.

Is that where we are up to? Still thinking that he's actually just misunderstood?

Exactly this. It's not just the Nazi salutes, it's an ever-growing list of disturbing interventions in global politics.

I have no idea whether Musk is antisemitic or not. My fear isn't that he's literally the new Hitler and he plans to persecute Jews. My fear is that he and Trump have been courting the far right for years, they're high on power (and a lot of drugs in Musk's case), they're deeply authoritarian and egotistical, and they're leaning into all of their supporter base's worst fantasies like the rounding up and deportation of migrants.

These are dangerous men and these are dangerous times.

I have been mocked. I've been told I'm wrong for not being offended by a bloody idiot.

StandFirm · 21/01/2025 16:02

I don't know either if he is going to persecute Jews but I will bet my bottom dollar that he is a fan of Nietzsche and the idea of the 'too many'. He does have an übermensch complex for sure. Him and Trump's ego are a terrible combo from that perspective.

And I take it you mean Musk is the bloody idiot, right?

Of course people can have different views. What someone can't do is say that they have Jewish heritage and aren't offended, so that is proof that Elon Musk doesn't have Nazi/fascist leanings.

I think the far right use scapegoats to distract ordinary citizens from the fact they are being screwed over. and to recruit useful idiots to carry out their wishes. They have different scapegoats now, people like women, immigrants and Muslims etc. They might change their targets of hate but the method remains the same.

Oh come on I did not say that. I said I was not offended, I didn't say it was proof. How do I know? I'm not in his head. I've watched it 10 times, I don't know if he's being awkward or if he is. I'm sorry I just don't and I'm not saying that to be offensive. Yes it looks very odd I agree. Yes he's a stupid bloody troll. I agree.

Well, @sparrowse,

There's this, from the post where I said that the salute is a symbol of division and hate.

And then there's a second from the post where I put up a photo of the J6 rioter in the Camp Auschwitz sweatshirt, which, I guess you find hilariously funny, what with your Jewish heritage and all.

If you have no recollection of posting these, maybe you have a larger problem?

Nigellasrockyroad · 21/01/2025 16:14

@noblegiraffe excellent post!
whether it was a fascist salute or a heart felt ‘thank-you’ gesture, there is plenty of previous behaviour that demonstrates that musk is up to no good.
Trump will tire of him and his stunts - there can only be one leader- so musk is positioning himself with other groups. The hard right supporters are not particularly bright and can be easily manipulated, especially by social media. He’s just lining up his next gig.

“History is written by the victors.”

Attributed to Churchill.

Famously someone with an untarnished historical legacy.

It blows my mind that this man made his way to richest person in the world from relatively humble beginnings. He seems a total fool. How did he get there? A mixture of cunning, drive, narcissism and pure luck I suppose.

Did he? I thought his dodgy White Supremacist eugenecist father was a millionnaire?

It’s really odd for a Jewish person to laugh at the guy in the Camp Auschwitz sweatshirt. I mean, I know we’re not a monolith, but, well…

theDudesmummy · 21/01/2025 16:23

His family were wealthy but not the kind of wealthy he is now.

Tontostitis · 21/01/2025 16:23

AfraidToRun · 20/01/2025 23:19

Hes a massive idiot but I don't think he knew what he did. I think he meant to throw his heart into the crowd but totally misjudged it. Don't get me wrong, he's a terrible human being but doing in on purpose would have no point, so I find is less plausible.

I went to Church on Sunday (school admission thing)and at least 1/3 of the congregation were doing the Heartsalutethrow thing I was a bit shocked at how much it looked like a Nazi salute. Pretty sure none of them are Nazi supporters.
