You've not watched the video have you?

I think you can stop the people who have v the people who haven't.

I just watched it - he said thank you to the crowd, put his hand to his heart and then up to the crowd. So the nazi salute now includes a requirement to say "thank you" and put your hand on your heart before you put your hand up to the crowd? When you blow a kiss you put your hand to your mouth and then up to face who you want to blow a kiss to - straighten your arm a bit too much and that becomes a nazi salute?

All his policies are pro people, not nazi. Think about it for a bit.

It is people who are not pro people who will try to discredit now. Attempts on lives, organised groups against the establishment, destabilising, discrediting. The play book plays on. US or abroad.

He is very self aware and knew what he was doing. He is that man who keeps pushing the boundaries and feigns innocence. He is power mad and has created a universe that he can manipulate and control to his advantage.
The “my heart goes out to you” part was just a way to cover it up because that is not a throwing gesture. Everybody knows it’s. Some of us are in shock, disgust and fear. Others in a weird paralysis because we don’t want to believe that just happened in full sight and then there are those for whom it was meant and who feel emboldened by it.

Hitler was a master at manipulating the average person, he made people believe that they were the good guys. He filled their heads with poison and turned neighbours into enemies. If you believe this is an innocent gesture are you also a person who hates a certain group of people who you blame for all the ills in this country?

The hand in the heart is the full Nazi salute.

You know that right?

If anyone sees any posts by Musk apologising, saying it was a clumsy mistake for something else, and denouncing nazi ideology, could you please post it.

Because right now the thing that is deafening in it's silence is the lack of response from him or Trump, which just adds to the weight of it was what we think it was.

The Independent says he responded to the criticism of the gesture in a post on X. 'Frankly they need better dirty tricks. The "everyone is Hitler" attack is so tired'.
So he's unapologetic.

(cough cough) it is currently 4am in the US
I will give Elon and Donald a call now though and tell them that you are demanding that they get up - right now - and make a statement.

What on earth does pro people mean? Even more populist jargon.

Post a video of you doing it then. Post it on here and where all your friends and family can see it. Post it where your boss can see it and tag the people you work for. If it’s so harmless. Go on support your hero and post it.

It’s so scary that many people don’t seem to have any knowledge re how Hitler rose to power and what he did with the support of the German voters.

Trump, Farrage and politicians in many other countries are copying Hitler and the ignorance is astounding.

This so true. I’ve reflected a lot over the last few years about how much learning about that time during History lessons at school actually taught me. It’s really important to understand how he did it and be able to see it.

You know that right?

Actually no I didn't. Funny that, because we don't often get to see that full nazi salute anymore. Which is why, notwithstanding my error (if it was one), it is highly unlikely what Elon Musk did was a nazi salute either.

Did the full nazi salute also require them to say thank you? No blowing kisses, I take it?

Gosh, MN is just such a mine of information. You live and learn.

The last vestiges of civilisation are being stripped away by the super-rich. Dietrich Boenhoeffer’s prediction that the stupid would undermine it has come to pass.

Evil people have weaponised the great mass of stupid and immature people that they themselves have diligently created since 1980.

And here we are. Farage/Brexit, Trump, Modi, Milei, Putin…all empowered by massed ranks of undereducated, ignorant - and synthetically angry people.

Evil people? You mean evil men.

You would take Musk’s word for it? Famously honest man that he is 🙄

RetroTotty · 21/01/2025 09:07

Strange that he managed to throw his heart out there.....in a very pronounced nazi salute.
Surely you would sweep both arms out to the crowd.

I have just imagined myself on stage, wanting to 'throw my heart' to the crowd. I put both hands on my chest, then threw both arms out and wide, palms up. Surely that would be most people's choice of gesture, rather than the Musk one?

anotherside · 21/01/2025 09:07

The anti-immigrant rhetoric. The contempt for democracy. The Nazi salutes. If you’re still using X or driving a Tesla you’re supporting an extremely high profile and powerful neo-Nazi.

FloorWipes · 21/01/2025 09:07

People defending Elon Musk on any basis are an absolute embarrassment to themselves.

Um, no. He's simply saying he's not actually Hitler, which is technically true. Can't get him on that.

brunettemic · 21/01/2025 09:04

@brunettemic - tell me exactly what hitler did to rise to power which is the same as what trump farage etc are doing? You are talking utter nonsense. Tell me Hitler's game plan from the 1920s to the point at which his party was elected. Exactly what he did, how he liased with other parties in power and other elected officials. Exactly what his policies were. And why. And then draw parallels to what is being done today. And then report back. Thank you!

Itsalwaysfools · 21/01/2025 09:10

He appears as if he's on drugs. He can barely pronounce some words and just slurs through them.

anotherside · 21/01/2025 09:10

So arguably the highest profile man in the world, known for his right wing views and evoking controversy throws two Nazi salutes at a high profile political event, aligning himself with one of the most destructive and evil political movements the world has ever seen.

But then afterwards sort of says that it wasn’t a Nazi salute. And that makes it absolutely fine, apparently.

crumblingschools · 21/01/2025 09:10

@RetroTotty exactly, or if you were using one arm wouldn’t you use a sweeping gesture to cover more of the audience whilst spreading your love and with an open palm

Ivanka converted and she and her kids are jewish. He had families of the Israeli hostages up on stage today. I dont think Trump is a literal nazi. I do think Musk is incredibly weird and awkward but he's going to have to explain this one and explicity state that he wasn't intending a nazi salute.

Edited

I don't think Trump is a literal Nazi either.

It does appear Musk is, and even before the salute and the hat there was enough info to be suspicious.

I think Trump doesn't actually care that Musk holds these views, he wants him for his wealth and influence. And Musk wants access to the Oval Office.

No good comes of this regardless of Trump's actual views.

Ketamine.

No one has to agree with his bs or buy his stuff. Or use his social media.
