Boris Johnson for Prime Minister

AllChangeNow · 21/10/2022 09:31

Eighteen Million (18M) people voted Conservative in 2019 because the Leader was Boris Johnson … THREE YEARS LATER … MP’s acted against British 🇬🇧 popular opinion and the economy went into meltdown … Seventy Two Percent (72%) of electors want Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak back at the helm -

BUT
struggling homeowners want to see mortgage payments fall and calm and stability return

AND
as Boris already has a mandate to govern from the British 🇬🇧 people …

WOULD it be sensible to put him and Rishi Sunak back in control and take the fight to Labour and their (Labour’s) announced plan on the 20th October 2022, to repeal the 2016 Trades Union Act and unleash unaffordable wage increases and strikes galore!!

WOULD
you feel happier if Boris was back as Prime Minister and Rishi as Chancellor?

Yes, they’re sending their bots in ever increasing numbers. Trouble is they’re not very good.

Trouble is Blossom, you know damn well we are not bots and have been on here longer than you have!! And secondly you always, always churn that one out when you lose the argument.

You are a bot = I can't argue back with anything of substance. So I will call you a bot. Clever me.

Except it is not clever blossom, it is desperate and pathetic.

Blossomtoes · 23/10/2022 15:26

Did anyone say you were? I doubt you’ve been here longer than me. My user name has changed a number of times - like yours, I guess.

Desperation and pathos are qualities associated with those with no ambition other than to try and get an ego driven opportunist back into Downing Street. There are actually decent Tories with their heads in their hands in the face of this debacle because they love their country. It’s a shame you’re not one of them.

And make it so easy for you, I think not.

There are also millions of Conservatives very happy to have the big man back. And many millions more that are relieved we might now stand the smallest chance of winning the next election again.

Blossomtoes · 23/10/2022 15:34

Yes, OK, dear. Whatever you say.

Lapland123 · 23/10/2022 15:37

No to Boris return
cannot believe this is even a possibility- shows how far this country has sunk

lannistunut · 23/10/2022 15:46

happy to have the big man back

It is cringey that people refer to Johnson as 'the big man' - he's grim, unprofessional, almost a grotesque figure. Not being able to see who he is is really quite weird IMO.

Its good to see the acknowledgement that currently the Tories don't even have the smallest chance of winning the next General Election.

I am quite honest, we need Boris back to win the election. Sunak won't cut it with the electorate.
As you well know, which is why he gets lots of support on here 😉

HRTQueen · 23/10/2022 16:48

I think if Johnson wins they have a better chance of winning but still unlikely to

thankfully he isn’t likely to but things are never quite as they seem with Johnson so wouldn’t be surprised if he has far more MP’s support that what the news is reporting

and half expecting him to give speech of now isn’t the right time to have him back he believes his place is in no.10

Johnson gets barely any support “on here”. What makes you think he’d win a GE when the Tories lost every by election held while he was PM? They lost huge majorities in places like Tiverton and N Shropshire.

HRTQueen · 23/10/2022 16:56

MN is left wing site thats predicted a Labour landslide foe every GE since I’ve been here (2006)

in a bubble too as many won’t read other am other than left wing for fear of being what I don’t know

read media outlets and comments on the return of Johnson it’s the opposite of what’s on here

It really isn’t. Even his mate Charles Moore at The Telegraph has said Johnson standing again would be a travesty. When even the Tory newsletter isn’t backing him, you know he’s run out of road.

HRTQueen · 23/10/2022 17:39

MN is the only sm site that has predicted so many Labour landslides

it’s a left mc bubble that is so often out of touch though not quite as much as it was

other media outlets are reporting different not all Tories will agree but Johnson still has support many Tory party members love him many Tory voters still love him many voters that voted Tory for the first time in 2019 still support him it’s now if he gets past the 100. I wouldn’t trust that he is more than what is being reported nothing is as it seems with Johnson

I would much rather Sunak is PM for the next election than Johnson both for the country and for Labour to gain more seats

HRTQueen · 23/10/2022 18:26

there going to be conflicting opinions

voters knew long before 2019 what a liar Johnson was it didn’t deter them for voting for him. His appeal is a mystery to me but I’m aware that he is a vote winner and I believe he would certainly pull back voters. Sunak not so much

it’s not the end of the Tory party they are far too popular and it should never be taken for granted that they will lose a GE history tells us that they rarely do

If Boris was back, unless he called an early general election he wouldn't stay as Prime Minister long enough to win an election.
Have you already forgotten how the by-elections went in the last year?

I don't know Tiverton particularly, but N Shropshire is deeply conservative, which is why they elected a local person who knew the challenges they face and who is regularly to be seen in the constituency unlike the neighbouring Tory MPs.

kissingfrogs 25What on earth is this ‘as well you know, wink’ regarding Rishi not ‘cutting it with the electorate’?

is there something wrong with you?

are you do deeply deluded you think a majority would prefer Boris to Rishi asPM next week?

The thing is Boris is just one of us really isn't he, he has flaws, but understands what the British people think. Rishi isn't one of us in the same way.

I’m sorry I haven’t read the whole thread so I don’t know if you are being sarcastic?

it you are for real, in what way is Rishi not ‘one of us in the same way’? Please explain

HRTQueen · 23/10/2022 19:19

Because Sunak is from an Asian family, his background culture will be different to the majority of voters.

many will view him as not really British they won’t Johnson even if he was born in the US and is from an extremely privileged background

Lapland123 · 23/10/2022 19:32

How else can it be explained that Truss won

One could argue that Sunak rather handicapped himself by breaking the law whilst Chancellor, by accepting billions of pounds of fraud, by instigating eat out to spread covid, by creating a housing bubble by removing stamp duty, to name a few of his achievements in government.
It may also have been a handicap to Sunak that it doesnt appear to want to live in the UK (see green card fiasco).
