Are you proud that we are standing by Ukraine?

We had buntings, bake sale and even traditional Ukrainian foods cooked and laid out tables and welcomed some of the families that have moved into our estate.
Even though many of us don't have much and I'm a struggling single mum we still did our best and everyone loved it.
In this neighborhood we look after each other if someones kid goes missing, finances low, house fire anything. Like I could go to any neighbours house and they'll give me a meal no question asked.
You don't get this anymore. This community.

I understand what it's all for an old neighbour was telling us all that it's like Hitler again and we need to stop Putin even though we are paying higher prices. because if ignored it will bombs falling on our cities next.
Are you proud that we've stepped up ?
(Ps- met a real cute Ukrainian fittie at our street party) so was a bonus lol 😁 I defo gonna follow him up for a drink

Yes, I see this as the beginning of WW3 and I would very much like the frontier to stay in Ukraine and ideally for the war to be won without a single bomb landing in Britain.

I know it sounds OTT to say WW3, but the conditions are perfect. I remember when the pandemic started, I said to DH “oh wow, I wonder who we’ll have a war with...”

Nationalism and fanatical thinking have been on the rise in every country for the past decade, Putin wants to recreate the Russian Empire, China wants Taiwan, and the formerly stabilising powers of USA and EU are much weakened, EU by Brexit / migration crisis and the US by Trump and also the extreme left.

Sure, we could have stayed neutral in Ukraine. Could have stayed neutral in WW2 as well. But then Hitler might have won and we’d be living in a very different world.

It’s crucial that the West stops sending billions of dollars to evil dictators. Putin’s army was funded by the West’s desire for gas. We could have used other fuels. And we’re still buying most of our cheap goods from China, which abducts its ethnic minority citizens and forces them to work for free in ‘re-education’ camps making stuff for us. Sounds very familiar 😥

I'm not sure I'm proud but I think it's essential. We ignored Putin taking Crimea and it emboldened him.
Then he tried to take Ukraine. If he succeeds, where next? The Baltic states? Czechia, Hungary? Finland?

And the blackmail over gas won't stop.Plus he can control world food prices if he takes Ukraine. He has become an aggressor and only solid & determined resistance will stop him.
