So sad Lily 😞

Parker231 · 02/02/2020 18:26

It might not be a Brexit thread by name but you knock down or ignore anyone who has view different from yours ie supports labour, thinks Boris is appalling and a remain supporter.

EpicIndividual · 02/02/2020 18:29

Here’s hoping all involved make a full recovery. ❤️

bellinisurge · 02/02/2020 18:31

This morning's homily on fishing and various bits about trade negotiation positioning were absolutely nothing to do with Brexit. At all. Even a bit.

Arseaboutdarkly · 02/02/2020 18:31

If you wish to continue arguing about Brexit, please go to the numerous available Brexit threads on the Brexit Board.

This is a Politics thread, in the Politics forum. Supposedly a Non Partisan Politics thread. Brexit is politics quite obviously - everything to do with the government and parliament generally is politics and is therefore ok to discuss.

Kindly stop trying to police this thread. If you think anyone's breaking the rules then report otherwise it's not up to you what they post.

EpicIndividual · 02/02/2020 18:31

Lily! It’s busy! Man the bitter pumps! 🍻

Nope

Not remotely true

I repeat - this is not a thread which welcomes goadiness & attempts to kick off a scrap

If you want to engage in the thread, do so - you're more than welcome

If you just want to derail or scrap?
Go elsewhere 🤷🏻‍♀️

Do we have anymore info on the attack?

Walkingdeadfangirl · 02/02/2020 18:36

If Wee Nippy gets more votes in next years Scottish elections than in the referendum (1.62 million 44.5%) then she 'might' have a case for a neverendum. In fact she should be getting at least 1.9 million votes (as that would have been 51%). If she cant reach that low bar then Boris is completely justified in saying NO.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 02/02/2020 18:40

sounding like police were actively following the attacker, which is why they were able to respond so fast. Thank goodness we dont allow people to have guns here.

EpicIndividual · 02/02/2020 18:42

Yeah I noticed the plain clothes in the Video Walking, they were defo ready for him.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 02/02/2020 18:42

Only one person injured is in a life threatening condition.

DustyDiamond · 02/02/2020 18:43

Eyewitnesses have said it was literally seconds before there was armed police response (undercover), and minutes before the official armed response was there

Just seen a report stating that he was being actively pursued by Police at the time of the attack.

SingingLily · 02/02/2020 18:49

Back for a brief moment (attending to dinner).

No updates just yet, other than three people injured and being treated in hospital. One is in life threatening condition, which is just awful.

There's speculation that the speed of response and the number of unmarked police vehicles in the vicinity suggests the attacker was under surveillance but this is speculation so I wouldn't want anyone to take that as read.

Just awful for those involved, their families, and also for those who saw what happened. Such terrible images in their heads now.

Having been involved first hand in serious incidents resulting in death and serious injury, my heart and thoughts go out to all concerned.

All else, quite frankly, pales into insignificance. I'm sure we would all agree on that, regardless of political persuasion. So let's just have a period of calm please. Some things are far more important.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 02/02/2020 18:52

I think we will have to start considering giving police the power to lock these people up before they actually start killing.

I don't disagree, Walking, but like I said, it's a hard balance between liberty and security.

EpicIndividual · 02/02/2020 18:54

“I think we will have to start considering giving police the power to lock these people up before they actually start killing.”

Interestingly, although a grainy picture, it looked like this guy ‘may’ have had an E tag on... Can’t be sure though. Didn’t the London Bridge dude have a tag on?

Walkingdeadfangirl · 02/02/2020 18:57

SingingLily · 02/02/2020 18:57

Yes, he was tagged, Epic, and he had so successfully conditioned the well meaning people who organised the conference that he was able to muster their support to get approval from his offender manager (probation officer) that the terms of his tagging were altered for that one day so he could attend without setting off the alarm.

Lots of well meaning people work in the criminal justice system.

Lots of manipulative wrongdoers in the system too.

SingingLily · 02/02/2020 18:58

Just popping into the kitchen. Back later.

Peace to all.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 02/02/2020 18:59

I agree but the world is changing and maybe we haven't got the balance right yet. I do get nervous these days walking through the centre of London.

EpicIndividual · 02/02/2020 18:59

Hope you are ok Lily, I know this stuff is all close to home. Flowers
