Anyone planning on watching?

OP posts:

Hardcore That piece is interesting and makes a really good point- being a 'bloody difficult woman' probably isn't the best approach if we want it done quickly, neat and to the benefit of the many and not the few.
Someone mentioned in a thread recently that May is a second string Tory and wouldn't usually be let near the top job. Brexit stuffed up the Tory line of succession.

Doje · 29/05/2017 21:07

It's on Channel 4 Hate

DriftingDreamer · 29/05/2017 21:07

So- CAN TM hear all this? Or is she in a darkened media free room!!!!!!

franke · 29/05/2017 21:08

Paxo makes me want to punch a wall.

Haffdonga · 29/05/2017 21:09

The single thing coming increasingly clear through this is that Paxman is a total areshole.

I actually want to hear what JC says, not JP's hectoring.

Embolio · 29/05/2017 21:09

I wish paxman would let him answer and stop interrupting! It's driving me mad.

Regarding the IRA, ok, but it's all a very long time ago. I mean, Martin McGuiness was a former IRA commander and he was deputy first minister of Northern Ireland - politics has moved on, for better or worse.

And now paxman is going on about the falklands - it's 30 bloody years ago!! Talk about something relevant.

Doje · 29/05/2017 21:09

So close to switching off because of Paxman. (DH won't let me) He's not the letting Corbyn answer the questions before butting in. It's not good journalism.

Doje · 29/05/2017 21:10

Drifting, I don't think anyone knows...

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 29/05/2017 21:10

Can see where this line of questioning is going

He really needs to stop saying listen and going into his rally speeches

scottishbride · 29/05/2017 21:10

I know!! Someone should time how much time JP has spoken for and how much time JC has spoken for- I put this on to listen to JC not JP!!!!

TheCakeScoffer · 29/05/2017 21:11

So just because it was sooo long ago, its ok to have a terrorist sympathiser as PM then ? JeezHmm

DriftingDreamer · 29/05/2017 21:12

Noone going to answer me or don't know....
Paxman is an arse but hope he as big an arse to TM...

leeha · 29/05/2017 21:12

JP is so irritating, I hope he treats Theresa the same 😠

leeha · 29/05/2017 21:12

JP is so irritating, I hope he treats Theresa the same 😠

Cherryflamingo · 29/05/2017 21:13

Think JC held his own quite well there.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 29/05/2017 21:14

Of course May is going to be treated the same

Ffs he is the toughest of interviewers he wants answers not a practised speech in response

Not great for Corbyn but few come out looking good after a grilling from Paxman

LuluLovesFruitcakes · 29/05/2017 21:16

Gosh I thought there were only so many times a person can say "can you let me finish please" 😯 I was apparently wrong!

DriftingDreamer · 29/05/2017 21:16

I hope it is 'of course'...
She is at an advantage if she has seen previous stuff...

Flatpackback · 29/05/2017 21:17

The IRA peace treaty only came about from engaging with terrorists. Nelson Mandela was a "terrorist" for years AFL. I agree with Corbyn, eventually the grievances have to be listened to and discussed. The earlier it happens the better to avoid needless loss of life. If only other political leaders would learn this. I think he's doing well. May on now , wait for the platitudes and sound bites. Word bingo anyone?

Bluntness100 · 29/05/2017 21:18

It won't be the exact same questions, she won't be at an advantage. However yes he was hard on corbyn and should be as hard on her.

Topseyt · 29/05/2017 21:18

I am not a particular Corbyn fan, but thought he generally held up well, especially under the onslaught of the Paxman juggernaut.

The IRA question is his Achilles heel, as it should be. It is one of the reasons I do have doubts.

Whistleblower0 · 29/05/2017 21:19

What a prize dick Paxman is.

DriftingDreamer · 29/05/2017 21:19

She will have advantage as will have seen his responses....

NannyOggsKnickers · 29/05/2017 21:20

I've never been a massive fan of JC but he came across well and I found myself agreeing with almost everything he was saying.

DriftingDreamer · 29/05/2017 21:21

Yup- just want the Tory majority to be slashed.....
