The last one filled up quickly.

More discussion on the significance of Trump, Trumpism and the Trumpsters and what it all means for Blairites.

You've confirmed what I showed previously. Small drop and at a lowest for about 40 years, but higher than then.

Remember, though, that Obama didn't create the crisis. He had to deal with it, an inheritance from the Republican years of bank deregulation and real estate speculation.
And we're off again...
With another Republican reign.
It fills me with confidence.

I think they rigged the election in Austria last time. It was so important for the EU that I think elites got together and rigged it. No way would a Green beat the right winger. So this time, I think it is curtains for the elite and the right will win.

I think there is going to be an avalanche of populist victories all over Europe, including Renzi losing his vote because both Brexit and Trump will give confidence to the people. The only thing that has been stopping the people throwing the entire EU political class shower out is fear of what would happen to the economy etc. They have so far believed the spinners on the media etc, but I think that Brexit and now Trump has destroyed the media's spin and people will go for broke and kick the puppets out even if they aren't sure what comes next.

'If Hofer wins, the risk of several nations following is huge. The MSM machine failed'

Yes, it will start an avalanche.

'Without the military might of Obama, the uncompromising dictatorial EU may soon have no choice but to compromise.'

Exactly, the whole phoney bullying of teh people and throwing their weight around will end as Trump calls their bluff and says he won't play ball with them. They will have to rein their horns in and get real and that is good for peace and prosperity as their grandiose ambitions collapse.

'Do they have zero hour contracts like us Claig?'

I don't know, but I bet they do as the EU is a capitalist's paradise and if they have zero hours in one country, they would want it everywhere.

More gaslighting, then?

You either predict the election results or they have been rigged.

Why shouldn't the left ein elections?

Politics are definitely polarising, but not necessarily going to the right and certainly not everywhere.

'Trump 'deal' keeps 1,000 Carrier Corp jobs in Indiana'

www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-38160330

Go Trump!

He works 18 hours a day, phoned to save just 1000 jobs, that is how seriously he takes it and how hard he works. He will be the best President ever. Analysts saying corporate bosses saw Trump's huge rallies and realise they better start making things in the US again or they are going to be unpopular with the people and that will affect their sales.

"Labour rights in the Netherlands
...
10 In the Netherlands contracts can be made for zero hours. Unfortunately with most zero-hour contracts your are obliged to come to work when the boss calls you to do so. When you want to quit you have to give a month’s notice. This doesn’t mean you can not try to leave immediately. Just check whether or not you are doing this legally, so you know what risk you are taking."

Ive just had a quick look at employment contracts and it appears that they work for the most part on an "at will" basis. That is, that pretty much no notice is required on either side.

This from a recent paper,

'Because of the “at will” rule, employers can hire on any basis they choose. A great many people work “part time” jobs, where they get only 20 or so hours a week. [This allows the employer to avoid some types of benefit payments, and keeps these employees under the hour limits that the new “Obamacare” law establishes (The “Affordable Care Act”). '

The reason I asked, is we know of course how the figures have been skewed over here, so one assumes its the same over there. Someones always cooking something. Looking at this, I do wonder if the Labor rate of course includes a huge number of low hour workers.

"Why shouldn't the left ein elections? "

Because Hofer won almost twice as many votes in the first round to van der Bellen, and then in the second round it surprisingly came too close to call it went to a recount of suspect postal voting. The recount van der Bellen won, but the discrepancies were too wide spread so a further ballot has been called for this weekend.

More than happy for left parties to win. Its just theyre not even getting past the first rounds. Austria is Greens vs Right. France is looking like its going to be the same right vs right.

"Oh sorry, I thought you meant in the Netherlands, didn't realise you meant in the States"

My fault, I wasnt clear. But, I didnt know the Netherlands had zero hours. The EU council would have us believe we were alone in the UK on that one!

Chris1234567890 · 30/11/2016 22:28

We were criticised by Brussels over our use of zero hours contracts. (just joining the dots) We were made to feel as though it was just the UK.

"As recent as January 2015, the European Committee on Social Rights – the quasi-judicial body overseeing the Council of Europe’s European Social Charter – criticised the UK for being in serious breach of workers’ rights. The list of non-conformity was damming and shameful. "

Looks like were not quite as alone as we thought.....

I'd love to know the details of the deal.
It's usually where the devil is. smile

It will be the usual corporate welfare - tax cuts, grants etc. Deal was probably underway with Pence as governor well before the election.

I do love the image of corporate america just needing a stern talking-to from a strict Daddy and then learning their lesson and deciding to make america great again. Why didn't anyone think of this before?? Probably the elites stopped them thinking it.
