Trouble is with all this disinformation is that eventually you come up hard against the truth. The £350 million was a lie of epic proportions used repeatedly by Leave. Remain's predictions in contrast are looking fairly conservative at this point.

There have been a lot of fake news sites which undoubtedly contributed to trump's success given that they were shared so much more widely than real stories on social media. Whether a sizeable proportion of them came from Macedonia or not isn't really the point. But it's interesting.

Southallgirl · 24/11/2016 21:40

the Pope had a go at Trump and said building a wall was not Christian. But it didn't succeed in stopping Trump. Nothing the global elite did succeeded in stopping Trump

The global elite has four ‘columns’: Corporate, Academic, Political and Religion. The Vatican is a last-gasp attempt to impede Trump.

squishysquirmy · 24/11/2016 21:42

Just caught up on this thread. Very surreal, made even better with the Avalanches "frontier psychiatry" as a soundtrack.

squishysquirmy · 24/11/2016 21:44

Southallhirl: The global elite has four ‘columns’: Corporate, Academic, Political and Religion : How do you know this? Do they all co-ordinate together? is there a sort of general manager getting these 4 columns to all co-operate? Is there a particular person (or group of people) pulling the strings behind the scenes?

Kaija · 24/11/2016 21:48

Alien lizards, squishy.

squishysquirmy · 24/11/2016 21:49

Chrisnumber: since you don't like me paraphrasing you: "but what really concerns me is that from January, anyone on here showing any support for Trump policies can and may be reported"........ "You squishy, are what concerns me about the new powers of the snoopers charter."

Like I said earlier, I am concerned about the snoopers charter too (but for slightly different reason to you, I think). However, if it reassures you at all I really doubt that GCHQ are interested in your misinformed Trump ravings on mumsnet.

squishysquirmy · 24/11/2016 21:53

Kaija Grin I really want to know what Southallgirl thinks.

claig · 24/11/2016 21:56

'The Vatican is a last-gasp attempt to impede Trump.'

Absolutely. Trump was angry and said it was "disgraceful" what the Pope said to question Trump's Christianity, but Trump couldn't go all the way because he couldn't upset millions of Catholics or he would lose the election. He knew what was at stake and in the end the Pope backed down.

But that was how hard they tried to stop Trump. They threw everything they had at him and the media hit him everyday all day and they still all lost. It was incredible and it shows that the people cannot be defeated and the truth will out in the end.

The maddest conspiracy theories always credit "the powers" with such an incredible level of competence, don't they?

squishysquirmy · 24/11/2016 22:00

I love the mental image of all the "elites" and "world powers" gathering around a youtube video of Trump together.... It makes being a member of the establishment elite sound really mundane, like the end of a boring student house party.

squishysquirmy · 24/11/2016 22:03

"The Vatican is a last-gasp attempt to impede Trump" Or, Trumps language seemed to contrast with the central teachings of Christianity (I'm not a Catholic, but I have been quite impressed by the current pope who seems relatively progressive.)

claig · 24/11/2016 22:04

'The maddest conspiracy theories always credit "the powers" with such an incredible level of competence, don't they?'

They are wrong because the world has all seen that they are incompetent. All of their media shills shilling for Hillary could not defeat the people and Trump who they called a "buffoon", a "clown" and whom they said was "unfit". the deplorables beat the best and brightest, they beat the lot of them and all their money and lies.

As Spiked magazine said they were just "paper tigers" and Trump now mocks the lot of them just as he did throughout the entire campiagn to the delight of the Trump fans.

"Revenge of the deplorables

Our US correspondent on Trump and the death of the establishment.
...
What’s crystal clear now is that the supposedly mighty US and Western establishments are paper tigers. They have become lazy and arrogant, and they are out of touch with the mass of people; they have lost all sense of purpose. Our political elites can’t even convince people that they have more to offer than a buffoon and two-bit conman with back-of-the-envelope policies. "

"Trump couldn't go all the way because he couldn't upset millions of Catholics or he would lose the election" Ah so he can keep his mouth shut when he really has to then? If he had gone further, wouldn't his supporters know it was just a "joke", like the other incredibly offensive things he said, which you have assured me were just "jokes"?

claig · 24/11/2016 22:12

' If he had gone further, wouldn't his supporters know it was just a "joke", like the other incredibly offensive things he said, which you have assured me were just "jokes"?'

No it wasn't a joke. Trump was angry. He knew the elite's game, he knows their tricks. But there are millions of Catholics who weren't his supporters and who were on the fence. He said the last thing you want to do is end up in a row with the Pope. Trump was being hit by everything the elite could throw at him and he said when he was told that the Pope had a go at him as well, he thought it can't get any weirder.

Kaija · 24/11/2016 22:18

Blimey. It's like watching a feverish Victorian medium at a seance conveying messages from the Other Side.

squishysquirmy · 24/11/2016 22:18

Claig, how certain are you that Trump can reverse globalisation, bring back jobs, end the war in Syria and wipe out Isis in 6 month, bring peace to Israel and Palestine, etc.
100%?
And if you are wrong and he is not fantastic, who will get the blame for the failures? Do you honestly believe Trump will hold his hands up, or will he find some convenient scapegoats for his supporters to direct their anger?

Chris1234567890 · 24/11/2016 22:19

".........your misinformed Trump ravings on mumsnet."

You're there again Squishy with your throw away remarks. So what misinformed ravings are you refering to? Do you write anything with any substance, or is it all just throw away incitement?

Kaija · 24/11/2016 22:20

"Do you write anything with any substance, or is it all just throw away incitement?"

A substantial and not-at-all inciting remark.

squishysquirmy · 24/11/2016 22:20

Kaija: Brilliant! Its exactly what it's like!
(is Claig psychically linked to Trump? that would explain his confidence in what Trump really means, when he's joking and when he's not etc.)

squishysquirmy · 24/11/2016 22:21

What do you mean by "incitement" Chrisnumbers? Confused

Southallgirl · 24/11/2016 22:22

squishy Always keep in mind that what you see and what you are told is not necessarily true or even partially true.

Modern democracy, as we know it, is only about 250 years old. For most of history, except for this brief period, the world has been ruled by powerful elites. Globalists control politicians, the courts, the educational institutions, the food, natural resources, foreign policies, economies and the money of most nations. And they control the major media, which is why too many times people cannot join up the dots and make sense of why an event occurs.

Not a general manager, squishy, but self-serving senior politicians who are in thrall - either thru ideology or greed - to a covert move towards an expanding federal europe governed essentially by corporations via the EU; but far more than that which I wont go into here. Ditto in North America.

We are on a precipice; we can either go towards a totalitarian way of life by voting to remain (UK) and voting for the old order (Clinton, Bush, Ford, Obama). It's irrelevant whether they are Democrats because the white hat of the Good Guy isnt fooling anyone anymore. They have colluded for far too long with foreign interests and those who want to enslave America (and Europe).

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said, “the ultimate aim is to weaken Europe and change its way of life, to weaken independent sovereign nations and make them part of a supranational union. National identity and independence needs to be weakened for that and divide and rule is a part of the destabilisation process."

I think the main reason you are not seeing what Claig is saying is because you havent grasped the treachery. American and European politicians are slowly trying to change our ways of life as we know it, to mould it to a vision in which "government" is merely a mouthpiece for the global elite to do big business.

squishysquirmy · 24/11/2016 22:22

All I meant is that no matter how sinister the snoopers charter may be, I don't think GCHQ care what you write about Trump on mumsnet. I thought you might feel reassured that you're almost certainly not that important.

Southallgirl · 24/11/2016 22:24

"Alien lizards, squishy." You see you cannot debate with Kaija. Just nonsense.

claig · 24/11/2016 22:24

'Claig, how certain are you that Trump can reverse globalisation, bring back jobs, end the war in Syria and wipe out Isis in 6 month, bring peace to Israel and Palestine, etc. '

He will achieve some of it but not all of it because the elites are out to get him as you can see on teh media where their servants are still hammering on everything they can make up. They won't let up. He dressed the media down on Monday and said they were "liars" and a "disgrace" but they will do their bosses bidding and keep coming for him. Puppets will also try to stop his policies etc. It will be tough, but when teh going gets tough, Trump gets going. He will give as good as he gets. He will come after some of them.

'And if you are wrong and he is not fantastic, who will get the blame for the failures?'

The elites of course.

'Do you honestly believe Trump will hold his hands up, or will he find some convenient scapegoats for his supporters to direct their anger?'

He doesn't need to find scapegoats, everybody knows the elites and their media are against him. Trump will give it his best shot and the people hope it will be good enough to defeat the "paper tigers".

You're quite right, Southall, and I apologise. But you did sound just a little Icke-ish in that post.
