'what would Trump do to them that would make them fear him so much?'

This was published in the Guardian. Occasionally, when they are not spinning desperately against Trump, they do publish some things on how things really work

"Bush threatened to bomb Pakistan, says Musharraf

The Bush administration threatened to bomb Pakistan "back to the stone age" after the September 11 attacks if the country did not cooperate with America's war on Afghanistan, it emerged yesterday.

In an interview to be aired on CBS television this weekend Pakistan's president, General Pervez Musharraf, said the threat was delivered by the assistant secretary of state, Richard Armitage, in conversations with Pakistan's intelligence director.

"The intelligence director told me that (Mr Armitage) said, 'Be prepared to be bombed. Be prepared to go back to the stone age'," Gen Musharraf was quoted as saying. The revelation that the US used extreme pressure to secure Pakistan's cooperation in the war on terror arrived at a time of renewed unease in the US about its frontline ally.

Gen Musharraf told CBS he was stunned at the bluntness of the US approach in the aftermath of the attacks. "I think it was a very rude remark," he said. But he yielded to the request.

Oh, so he'd threaten to bomb them, 'like an elite'.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/11/2016 14:25

and if they stood up to him? what happens next?

claig · 24/11/2016 14:27

Trump wouldn't need to threaten anyone. All that would be needed is an announcement saying "we have a phonecall from President Trump" and the panic and palaver would be a sight to behold. They will do whatever Trump wants and they won't ask questions.

OP posts:
GlassCircles · 24/11/2016 14:29

They will do whatever Trump wants and they won't ask questions.

Why - because they believe he is genuinely mad? What if they are even madder?

claig · 24/11/2016 14:29

'and if they stood up to him?'

Are you having a laugh?

'what happens next?'

Let's hope no one ever risks it to find out.

OP posts:
claig · 24/11/2016 14:30

'What if they are even madder?'

Then Trump will sort them out.

That right there is the flaw in your theory.

GlassCircles · 24/11/2016 14:35

I thought the point of Trump was that he was going to stop sending soldiers to war and let the world sort its own problems out? Or is he just going to nuke everybody who doesn't 'obey'?

claig · 24/11/2016 14:37

'I thought the point of Trump was that he was going to stop sending soldiers to war and let the world sort its own problems out?'

He won't need to send soldiers. A phonecall or two will be enough. He will probably do a deal with Putin and the Russians will pay for it. As Trump says, it is expensive sorting the world's problems out.

"He won't need to send soldiers. A phonecall or two will be enough. He will probably do a deal with Putin and the Russians will pay for it. As Trump says, it is expensive sorting the world's problems out."

My daddy's bigger than your daddy.

And Putin, of course, is where all this begins and ends.

Lweji · 24/11/2016 14:40

You're going in circles.

Then Trump will sort them out.

How? If a phone call is not enough?

He will probably do a deal with Putin and the Russians will pay for it. As Trump says, it is expensive sorting the world's problems out.

YOU are having a laugh.
Trump can't expect everyone else to pay for whatever he wants to do.

GlassCircles · 24/11/2016 14:46

A phonecall or two will be enough.

You still haven't explained why it will be enough. Will he be employing Paul McKenna?

claig · 24/11/2016 14:49

'How? If a phone call is not enough?'

Maybe a phone call from "Mad Dog" Mattis may liven them up.

'Trump can't expect everyone else to pay for whatever he wants to do.'

Of course he can. He will be President of the United States and NATO countries wil have to pay 2% and other countries will have to go along with Trump. That is realpolitik. Eveey world leader has been watching the US elections, along with all of us, they have tuned in to all the debates (with translators expalining Trump's humour to them), they have lost faith in teh mainstream media as they saw that all their predictions and spin failed to turn out or work, and they are under no illusion that Trump is not just another "career politician". They know the score.

OP posts:
claig · 24/11/2016 14:52

World leaders all heard about Trump's dressing down of the media hacks and shills on Monday which was described by someone who witnessed it as a "f...ing firing squad" and they all immediately instructed their teams to compy with Trump at the earliest opportunity.

This is not spin, this is not Bliarism, this is Trump 2016.

OP posts:
GlassCircles · 24/11/2016 14:52

No, still don't get it. How is this any different from how the 'elite' work, except with added mad?

Lweji · 24/11/2016 14:53

Claig, do you really think we are stupid and will get blind by the sand you're throwing our way?

How will he get Russia to pay for whatever? That was the question in relation to your statement. Not NATO countries.
What kind of deal can he make with Russia? What will he offer? There are no free lunches and Putin is not one to give them.

Lweji · 24/11/2016 14:54

Maybe a phone call from "Mad Dog" Mattis may liven them up.

How? Will Trump get every single american to call until whoever is on the other side is fed up?

World leaders all heard about Trump's dressing down of the media hacks and shills on Monday which was described by someone who witnessed it as a "f...ing firing squad" and they all immediately instructed their teams to compy with Trump at the earliest opportunity.

Funny, but not likely.

claig · 24/11/2016 14:56

'No, still don't get it. How is this any different from how the 'elite' work'

This is a new elite, Trump 2016. The people's revolution. America First, elites in panic, Guardian gobsmacked, Jon Snow in pieces. The Guardian said and they hated to say it

"Donald Trump's victory is nothing short of a revolution"

and for once they got it right.

We are in a new world, the people won.

The thread that keeps on giving.

Brew

As usual, claig, I cannot really tell whether you believe some, all or nothing of what you are stipulating. Intriguing.
You repeatedly show such a touching belief in Easy Answers, like a child.
V baffling.

GlassCircles · 24/11/2016 14:57

To clarify, by 'how the elite work' I mean by using military threat.

And you still really haven't explained his magical powers over Putin.

PacificDogwod · 24/11/2016 14:58

'Mon now, claig.
Now you really sound like some kind of random phrase generator.

claig · 24/11/2016 15:00

'How will he get Russia to pay for whatever?'

Because Trump will offer to end the necons warmongering against Russia. He will do business deals with Russia and end any incipient Cold War that th ebankers wanted to resurrect. Russia will do whatever Trump wants because Trump will do business with them and normalise relations with them.

'How? Will Trump get every single american to call until whoever is on the other side is fed up?'

The other side is not stupid. One phone call will be enough. Just the mention of the two words "Donald Trump" is on the line will send the into a tizzy.

OP posts:
GlassCircles · 24/11/2016 15:01

Unless... Trump is planning on becoming a Russian media star? Now that would make it all make sense.

Lweji · 24/11/2016 15:02

What kind of business deals with Russia? I'm curious.
