claig: But your answer to everyone on here who points out the very obvious, blatent flaws of the man is: Blairite! and "the people have won".
The people have not won here, Claig. Even if not everyone realises it yet.

Kaija · 22/11/2016 23:39

"Spencer is a nobody, he has got no power and no votes."

And yet Steve Bannon described him as one of the leading intellectuals of the alt-right movement.

squishysquirmy · 22/11/2016 23:40

"Trump is bypassing them and he says he will stop the large media mergers that concentrate too much power in too few billionaires' hands"
Oh the fucking irony....

claig · 22/11/2016 23:41

'Donald Trump provokes backlash from supporters as he signals u-turns on Hillary Clinton and global warming'

This is just the usual media tricks. The BBC has been saying this nonstop for days now that Trump is going back on his pledges. It is nonsense. He never said he would build a wall across the river crossings etc or that he would not keep any aspects of Obamacare, and he has not ruled out anything on Clinton because it won't be him who has the say-so on that.

By saying he is not looking to prosecute Clinton, then Obama may not give a pardon, and then we will see what happens later.

Claig's Blair fixation is just bizarre. Presumably aimed at people who fell asleep in about 2005 and have only just woken up.

claig · 22/11/2016 23:43

'And yet Steve Bannon described him as one of the leading intellectuals of the alt-right movement.'

Have you got the quote of that?

Trump has known about climate change for some time...

www.politico.com/story/2016/05/donald-trump-climate-change-golf-course-223436

Kaija · 22/11/2016 23:44

It was in Breitbart. I'm surprised you didn't see it.

SwedishEdith · 22/11/2016 23:44

"This is just the usual media tricks."

Of course! If it doesn't suit the narrative it's the media up to their old tricks again.

claig · 22/11/2016 23:45

Don't worry, Trump knows the score about climate change. He is sucking the media teams in, they are sweating and hoping he doesn't mean it. He means it, wait and see, they will be panicking and spinning like there is no tomorrow whenTrump acts.

OP posts:
claig · 22/11/2016 23:47

SwedishEdith, give Trump time. He is a master strategist, he is playing the media teams for teh spinners that they are. He scolded them on Monday and he will outwit them over the months to come. Don't beleive what their teams are writing and saying, they will be proved to be Bliars in the end.

OP posts:
squishysquirmy · 22/11/2016 23:47

The thing about the climate change debate that always confused me, is even if you're not 100% convinced that man made climate change is real - even if you're only 90%, or 50%, or even 10% convinced surely it would be worth treating it as a real threat? It's a hell of a gamble to say "I'm not 100% convinced, so I wont spend the money".

claig · 22/11/2016 23:48

'It was in Breitbart. I'm surprised you didn't see it.'

I rarely read Breitbart. I think it is a crap website, it nearly always crashes due to all the videos and popups etc on it.

OP posts:
squishysquirmy · 22/11/2016 23:49

Yeah Give Trump time. he's only had almost 7 decades of being a nasty, narcissistic bully. Don't make up your minds without giving him a chance!

Kaija · 22/11/2016 23:50

Trump knows about climate change:

The New York billionaire is applying for permission to erect a coastal protection works to prevent erosion at his seaside golf resort, Trump International Golf Links & Hotel Ireland, in County Clare.
A permit application for the wall, filed by Trump International Golf Links Ireland and reviewed by POLITICO, explicitly cites global warming and its consequences — increased erosion due to rising sea levels and extreme weather this century — as a chief justification for building the structure.
The zoning application raises further questions about how the billionaire developer would confront a risk he has publicly minimized but that has been identified as a defining challenge of this era by world leaders, global industry and the American military.

squishysquirmy · 22/11/2016 23:50

Kaija: Grin at falling asleep in 2005.

claig · 22/11/2016 23:51

squishysquirmy , if you know what climate change is really all about then you understand the game. Trump knows it, he understands it, he has advisers who have told him. As we have seen, he can't be bullied by the elites or the media (whom he scolded on Monday), so he won't be falling for the elite's climate game. He may play nice to fool them, but wait until he acts.

OP posts:
squishysquirmy · 22/11/2016 23:52

Enlighten me Claig on what climate change is all about.

claig · 22/11/2016 23:54

'Enlighten me Claig on what climate change is all about.'

No it is a huge subject that is off topic on this thread. It would divert from this thread, but rest assured Trump understands what the game is. That is why all the media teams and Oxbridge teams and elites are so frightened of Trump. Their game is over.

OP posts:
squishysquirmy · 22/11/2016 23:57

Ah thats ok then. I'll sleep easy knowing that you know that Trump understands the game. Also deeply relieved to hear it's all just a game. Phew!

Kaija · 22/11/2016 23:59

I think what Claig is trying to say is that Trump knows that climate change is here, and serious, hence his sea wall application.

Even Putin has stopped denying climate change so it is only natural that Trump would follow suit. Especially if it suits his business interests.

claig · 23/11/2016 00:03

squishysquirmy, yiu just have to watch Channel 4 News and BBC Newsnight to know how desperate the teams are, how their spin is falling flat the further they ramp it up against Trump. Wait 6 months to a year and watch the panic. Trump has their number, he knows the game. It is game on.

On Monday he called all the media big shots in and told them

"We’re in a room of liars, the deceitful dishonest media who got it all wrong.’ He addressed everyone in the room calling the media dishonest, deceitful liars. He called out Jeff Zucker by name and said everyone at CNN was a liar, and CNN was [a] network of liars,”

Wait until he starts on the climate teams. The elite have nothing left, that is why they are talking about the return of Blair and ignoring the laughter of the people. What else can they do? Trump has got their number.

OP posts:
squishysquirmy · 23/11/2016 00:05

Thanks for translating Kaija. For some reason when he talks about "media teams" and "oxbridge teams" it makes me think of rowers. Maybe that's all part of the cunning plan, too cunning for me to even begin to comprehend of course. I don't even speak Claigese!

squishysquirmy · 23/11/2016 00:06

I will agree with Claig that I have detected a strained note in the voice of normally very professional news readers when discussing the president elect's latest capers.

claig · 23/11/2016 00:14

squishysquirmy, they are spinners, the media spin. That is why Trump told them

"We’re in a room of liars, the deceitful dishonest media who got it all wrong.’ He addressed everyone in the room calling the media dishonest, deceitful liars. He called out Jeff Zucker by name and said everyone at CNN was a liar, and CNN was [a] network of liars,”

The media has lost its power because so many people see through the spin now.

"Americans' Trust in Mass Media Sinks to New Low"

www.gallup.com/poll/195542/americans-trust-mass-media-sinks-new-low.aspx

That is why Trump said to CNN's Anderson Cooper

"they [the people] don't rust you. They don't trust the media"

and the more they span against Trump and are still doing it now, the more the people saw through it.

Social media defeated mainstream media which is why Trump now bypasses mainstream media and uses social media instead.
