Oct 20th 2 am UK time.

Last chance for the Establishment to stop the Trump surge in the polls.
World leaders will be watching, Establishments will be tuning in on the edge of their seats in trepidation.

People will be laughing, diving into the popcorn and knocking back the alcohol.

Round 3. Rock'n'roll.

There is a similarity between religion and homeopathy actually, which is the placebo effect. It's a good comparison. The difference would be that homeopathy doesn't have any unpleasant or dangerous side effects.

The difference would be that homeopathy doesn't have any unpleasant or dangerous side effects.

Except for the money people spend on it and if they don't seek proper treatment for treatable diseases.

But, yes, no wars have been started due to homeopathy. Grin

WinchesterWoman · 21/10/2016 18:50

yes that's what I was getting at about the whole religious war thing Lwej - nobody sacked a city over a sugar pill Grin

Trump belongs to the most dangerous, unscrupulous part of the privileged "elite":

Useful info about Trump in the book by Michael Kranish,
"Trump Revealed: An American Journey of Ambition, Ego, Money, and Power"

How Trump treats workers:

“The work was done by hundreds of undocumented Polish immigrants known as the “Polish brigade.”
The men toiled through spring and summer of 1980 with sledgehammers and blowtorches, but without hard hats, working twelve- to eighteen-hour days, seven days a week, often sleeping on Bonwit Teller’s floors.
They were paid less than $5 an hour, sometimes in vodka.
Many went unpaid and were threatened with deportation if they complained.”

Doing business with the Mob
“The concrete for Trump Tower came from S&A Concrete, then owned by the heads of two New York crime families:
“Fat” Tony Salerno, of the Genovese family, and Paul “Big Paul” Castellano, of the Gambinos

"considers mentioning annual number of deaths from conventional health care"

Well, you could. But then you'd have to mention the number of lives saved by conventional health care.

And then you'd have to mention the number of lives saved by alternative health care. At least that would be easy. None.

Wiki

Globally, it is estimated that 142,000 people died in 2013 from adverse effects of medical treatment; this is an increase from 94,000 in 1990.[1] However, a 2016 study of the number of deaths that were a result of medical error in the U.S. placed the yearly death rate in the U.S. alone at 251,454 deaths, which suggests that the 2013 global estimation may not be accurate.[2][3]

extract:
About 850 000 medical errors occur in NHS hospitals every year, resulting in 40 000 deaths.

So, if you or your family suffer broken bones, heart disease, cancer etc you'll be toddling along to your local homeopath then, not the nhs ?

WinchesterWoman · 21/10/2016 19:53

no - where did I say that? are you reading a different thread?

Want2bSupermum · 21/10/2016 20:15

Bigchoc You can't build a damn thing in this area without being connected to the mob. I want to build another layer on my house. I need to go to the zoning board and need a lawyer to do it. Only one lawyer operates in town. If you want quick inspections you are looking at hiring one of two contractors, both of which are 'established Italian families'.

Of course Trump has had dealings with the mob. Everyone who has done anything from fix the facade of their home, repave their driveway or have an adjustment go through the zoning board has.

How is religion different to homeopathy

How is any strict adherence to any ideology people attach themselves too different? If your brought up in any household with severe adherence to anything be it - religion, or anything - it will taint your world view - as you were Blush

pastelmacaroons · 21/10/2016 20:51

Kaija I had the same thoughts the other way round - it's interestingly predictable. I would say it speaks to independent thought but I'm sure you'd say something different same here

BigChocFrenzy · 21/10/2016 21:20

Supermum Is it also impossible to build in your area unless you make your workers do 15-18 hr shifts daily, avoid providing basic safety equipment and pay them $5 per hr ?
Or is that just good business practice now ?

BigChocFrenzy · 21/10/2016 21:21

Trumo just sounds like the most evil side of the "elite"

BigChocFrenzy · 21/10/2016 21:22

The hashtag #nastywoman may be taking off.

I enjoyed this riposte from Clinton in the debate:
“There’s only one of us on this stage who’s actually shipped jobs to Mexico !”

BigChocFrenzy · 21/10/2016 21:25

Trump on Putin:
“He said nice things about me.”

So, no concern about Putin's atrocities in Syria, his genocide in Chechnya, or of internal oppression in Russia - locking up or murdering his opponents.

Yet another illustration of Trump's ego.
Also shows what qualities he admires in a strong leader.

pastelmacaroons · 21/10/2016 21:29

Why on earth should we care that Martin Luther King's niece endorses Trump?

I dont know why we should care I am a newbie in all this but all I have heard of Trump he is is racist
So this endorsement jumped out at me because she is black and related to the greatest supporter of black rights ever and he - Trump is Pink.

You cant compare Churchill and EDL in same way because usually same colour. Its the race element.

pastelmacaroons · 21/10/2016 21:50

'Am in despair and wish everyone would think like me so we can save the world

just trying to wade through last few pages some really interesting posts on both sides Grin

I suppose bottom line is that faith helps some people feel better - the folk who have faith

does it make the ISIS faith folks feel better when they are chopping off heads and hands? Or Saudi folks when they are subjugating women - making them live their lives under a black covering, repressing people, same in Iran, etc.

I know what you mean but I dont buy it.

pastelmacaroons · 21/10/2016 21:53

But then you'd have to mention the number of lives saved by conventional health care

sorry to digress this reminds me of a story that has enraged me in the press right now about the Morcombe Bay " Musketeers". A group of Mw who led a "Turf War" Shock Shock agaisnt other medics at Furness Hospital in the pursuit of a Natural Birth at all costs. 11 people - women and babies have died needlessly and possibly more. All at the altar of a brain washed ideology of natural birth.

ZuleikaDobson · 21/10/2016 21:57

pastel, I think the point is that it is that it is ludicrous to suggest the fact that someone is related to someone famous lends any weight to their views. Every famous person has a few deadlegs in the family tree, and that is clearly true of this branch of the King family.

It is also irrelevant that Alveda King is a black person endorsing Trump. There are millions of black people who absolutely don't, and frankly they include an awful lot of people whose views are infinitely more worthy of respect.
