Stop Corbyn Plan

Redkite2015 · 22/08/2015 10:36

Only way to stop Corbyn from Labour leader is to cancel the election, re-invite the nominations and make sure that 'morons' don't nominate Corbyn again.

See the plot. AB camp is calling for urgent meeting with Labour HQ. Many genuine Labour supporters being denied vote. What else 'any one but Corbyn' can do now?

Redkite2015 · 29/08/2015 21:25

I will support who ever is elected and would hope all the Labour supporters to unite behind their new Leader.

I feel that YC is gaining momentum, though real challenge to JC would come from AB.

I expect I would still vote Labour if he were elected although probably secretly hoping they don't win. I have voted Labour in every General Election since 1979 and Labour in the candidate section of all Holyrood elections. He will be a disaster as party leader and heaven forfend he gets loose on running the country.

The women only carriage fiasco is an indicator of his ineptitude.

straggle · 29/08/2015 22:11

Another media obsession will be if he, Tom Watson and Sadiq Khan form an all-male team and he struggles to fill his shadow cabinet with any women, or any women with appropriate experience (remember Alan Johnson as Chancellor of the Exchequer? and he really is a good popular guy connecting with the public). Yet the Tories vote in their second female leader.

BIWI · 29/08/2015 22:15

Could you try writing in proper sentences, OP? Then we might be able to engage with your arguments properly.

Redkite2015 · 30/08/2015 06:22

Tony Blair spoke again. The guy is getting delirious. Some thing clearly haunting him. May be the illegal war in Iraq, which JC voted against?

OP posts:
squidzin · 30/08/2015 08:40

Can't all these New Labour political failures just Eff off?
Mr Blair please get it through your thick skull it is New Labour which is unelected.
Did none of them notice Ed Milliband's New Labour was wiped out the biggest rejection Labour had ever seen!

This bit from Tony is great: "Corbyn supporters are... living in a bubble... where the only important thing is feeling good about it all"

The last thing we want is peole feeling good for supporting Labour, ain't that right.

Even Thatcher had the composure to Eff Off after a few years. EFF OFF TONY!

ALassUnparalleled · 30/08/2015 13:02

"Corbyn supporters are... living in a bubble... where the only important thing is feeling good about it all"

That is a very good summing up of the position. Lots of sanctimonious posturing. It's very like Tommy Sheridan's bunch.

Redkite2015 · 31/08/2015 07:59

Blair's intervention did not work well. So now it is the turn of, wait a minute, George Osborne.

Writing in Guardian!!!!!!! Of all the places.

Hilarious times.

Desperation of establishment..... Or what else?

OP posts:
squidzin · 31/08/2015 08:08

They are taking it in turns, totally orchestrated, and going round in circles.
Didn't we have George's warning 2 weeks ago? Maybe it was Gordon Brown actually. They all merge into one.

ALassUnparalleled · 31/08/2015 17:55

John Prescott emailed party members today calling for support for Andy Burnham.

Redkite2015 · 31/08/2015 18:29

Yeah, and George Osborne has also joined 'any one but Corbyn' camp too.

Weren't tories supposed to cheer leading for JC?

OP posts:
squidzin · 01/09/2015 08:56

He's supposed to be doing PMQ, two days after winning leadership, knowing that practically every single member of the elite establishment has come onto the press opposing him.

Man he's gotta be tough.

DinosaursRoar · 01/09/2015 09:23

RedKite - surely you can see that Osborne is a good enough politician to realise that him saying "anyone but Corbyn" would get the backs up of Labour supporters to get them to vote for him?!! Honestly, it's a gift to the Tories, but then, I really can't see any of the others winning in 2020, so in the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't matter if it's JC or any of the others, the next chance Labour has is whoever comes next.

As a side note, I think Osborne appears to be positioning himself as the next Tory leader, I can see why if facing Corbyn, the party might be convinced they need a serious leader and the assumption of Boris Johnson wouldn't be good enough. (so would suit Osborne to have Corbyn as Labour leader) Osborne's gone and got himself a make over, and most interestingly, hearing him talk on the news last night, his accent seems to have changed slightly, he's gone less 'posh', sounding more 'normal' - that with the new hair and clothes does seem to be a general attempt to make him a more electable "ordinary man" - put him up against Corbyn, who, let's face it, looks like an 80's throw back - Osborne will look more 'normal'.

It would suit a lot of Tory leadership hopefuls to have Corbyn as the Labour Leader - as we know Cameron is standing down before the next election, it's worth taking everything any Tory front bencher does in the next 4 years in that light!

Isitmebut · 01/09/2015 11:03

"He's supposed to be doing PMQ, two days after winning leadership, knowing that practically every single member of the elite establishment has come onto the press opposing him."

"Man he's gotta be tough."

Or another ideological dinosaur without the basic ability to see past his old, outdated, tried, tested, and failed, view.

Whether a politician or anyone else, if someone can't look back to the 1970's/early 1980's, his party's own record of (lack of) meaningful reform over a 13-years term when a MEMBER of that governing parliamentary party, AND the outright public rejection of a further left of centre Miliband manifesto only months ago - and STILL can't see the mistakes made and adapt, thats not being "tough", its being a dip-stick.

Tiredemma · 01/09/2015 11:10

DinosaursRoar

I noticed George looking remarkably different as he strutted around Faslane on the news. Something a bit more 'less posh' about him.

Isitmebut · 01/09/2015 11:37

A little 'pious' maybe, as George's drone camera shot showed a balding crown, a bit like a monk? lol

Redkite2015 · 03/09/2015 21:58

JC came out way way way top in polls after Sky debate.

Redkite2015 · 04/09/2015 15:09

Just a week to go now. What would Labour establishment do now?

Tories wanted Corbyn. They probably wished the wrong man.

OP posts:
claig · 04/09/2015 15:27

'What would Labour establishment do now?'

I think they have given up, they know their candidates are going to lose. They can't stop Corbyn and the people. So now they will be planning what they can do to undermine Corbyn when he does win. They will play a long game and try and trip Corbyn up and put one of their candidates in. Of course this will spell disaster for Labour because the whole country will see how they operate. They may need a new face to displace Corbyn

claig · 04/09/2015 15:29

'Tories wanted Corbyn. They probably wished the wrong man.'

Yes, there is no Torymania, but there is Corbynmania and Faragemania for a reason - because people are crying out for change. Corbyn will pose a threat to the old ways.
