?

Or are we more likely to have another coalition?

Why are we stuck choosing between these imbeciles in the first place. People should be asking where is the party that actually speaks for any citizens who exist in this country? I will vote once there is a party worthy of voting for.

I totally agree.

ExcuseTypos · 06/04/2014 21:07

Labour will have to get rid of Mr Bean for a start.

Hassled · 06/04/2014 21:10

I think the Labour Party of today is very different to the last Labour government - more restrained, accepting of previous mistakes. But they have to make Joe Public realise that. While New Labour as a concept is reviled now, at the time it was a useful tool to distinguish Labour in the 90s from the union-controlled Labour of the 70s/80s; the current Labour party need some sort of equivalent rebranding.

kissmyheathenass · 06/04/2014 21:11

I agree with hotcrosshunny, they are all shite. For the first time in my voting years, I really cant choose who to vote for.

ExcuseTypos · 06/04/2014 21:17

I actually think Labour will lose with Mr Bean in charge, I just cannot take him seriously and nor can a lot of people.
I expect the conservatives will keep reminding everyone of what he did to his brother as the election approaches. As in "can you trust a man who would do this to his brother?"

I reckon he will have to step down if they do lose and his brother will come back, become leader and win it next time round.

Bowlersarm · 06/04/2014 21:20

Grin @ Hassled LibDem = small bastards, Con = big bastards, Labour = previous bastards. That does just about sum up the Great British publics mindset.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 06/04/2014 21:20

What did he do to his brother?

ExcuseTypos · 06/04/2014 21:22

Joined the leadership battle when his brother was the dead cert to win it.

David M still hasn't forgiven him apparently.

Bowlersarm · 06/04/2014 21:23

Don't be difficult, Armani. A lot of the general public think he stabbed him in the back.

Plymouthsupporter · 06/04/2014 21:24

We need Scotland to stay in the UK or they will yes.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 06/04/2014 21:25

I genuinely didn't know. I knew they both stood but that was all. No need to call me difficult for asking a question. That kind of response puts people off wanting to learn about politics.

Bowlersarm · 06/04/2014 21:28

Oh sorry, Armani. (A lot of people seem to say that when knowing full well what happened. They think it was a fair thing for Ed to stand against his brother, when many others think it was a betrayal)

Ratbagcatbag · 06/04/2014 21:36

Ok, don't shoot me, BUT, ie not really seen much about UKIP so have just looked at their manifesto so to speak. From my opinion it doesn't seem that bad......................... Can someone explain why it is??

Hassled · 06/04/2014 21:36

Interesting article here about voters interests being ignored and Farage's response.

A quote from the article: "Farage is not the friend of the working class. Ukip's proposed abolition of inheritance tax and national insurance and the creation of a flat rate tax would cause inequality to balloon. It would be paid for by swingeing spending cuts that would make George Osborne's ambitions to shrink the state to 1948 proportions look tame."

It's terrifying - and he can't be dismissed as a threat.

Meglet · 06/04/2014 21:43

I bloody hope not.

And as for a potential 'UKIP and Tory coalition', if that happens please supply me with very hard drugs for the next 5yrs. It never occurred to me it could happen until now, fuck.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 06/04/2014 21:46

This article on ukip explains a lot www.newstatesman.com/politics/2013/02/ukip-party-bigots-lets-look-evidence

PansBigChainring · 06/04/2014 21:52

The Tories have been gagging to sell off the publically owned assets to their friends for decades - and IF they ever get another chance we will be living with the worst aspects of the US of A.

btw, people wouldn't be voting for Ed Milliband - they'd be voting for a fairer society.

PansBigChainring · 06/04/2014 21:56

and Maria Miller should stay, to be a source of embarassment to the Tories into the next election and remind everyone what a poor judge of situations Cameron is (remember his H of Comm now is in the dock?).

MoreBeta · 06/04/2014 22:00

LibDems will lose votes and seats as leftie metropolitan types vote Labour in disgust at the sellout of joining a coalition with the Tories after the last election.

Traditional working class Labour voters and traditional blue rinse older Tory voters will choose to vote UKIP in protest over Europe and immigration.

UKIP may win a few seats but not many.

All in all a recipe for a hung Parliament and a lot of horse trading and a very weak and ineffectual minority Government.

This is looking a lot more like the 1970s with Lib-Lab pacts and narrow majorities and pandering to pressure groups to scrape a few votes and no one daring to make tough policy decisions.

It will end in a financial and economic meltdown and chaotic period while a strong charismatic leader like Boris Johnson comes forward.

Farage is also charismatic but Boris Johnson could steal his votes very easily by talking to the Tory right and promising an EU referendum.

PansBigChainring · 06/04/2014 22:05

Labour state they will remove the bedroom tax, stop the privatisation of the NHS, and freeze energy bills til 2017 as well as review train companies contracts as they come up for renewal with a view to re-nationalising the rails.
Stuff most people will appreciate.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 06/04/2014 22:06

Boris to save the world, who knew :)

I actually think there is a possibility that the Tories could get a majority. The Maria Miller thing is a storm in a teacup although I do think she needs to go.

Ratbagcatbag · 06/04/2014 22:06

Thanks Armani. That's terrifying. :-/ they're awful.

Viviennemary · 06/04/2014 22:10

Every time there is some sort of mini crisis David Cameron is feeble. I've really gone off him over this Maria Miller thing. Why doesn't he just say she did something wrong and should pay all the money back.

PansBigChainring · 06/04/2014 22:12

82% of Tories, plus the Grassroots group, Norman Tebbit and a few old Tories thinks she should go. Cameron is slowly hanging himself.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 06/04/2014 22:15

I think if she stays the Tories will lose more support.
