So... George Osborne will be standing up to deliver this year's Budget at 12.30pm, with announcements expected on property tax, stamp duty and the personal tax allowance. Here's what you were hoping (and dreading) would come up; time to find out whether George has been reading

Marking place too, I like the new coin. It is beyond a joke about all the fake £1 coins in circulation.

I quite like the new coin but its going to be a bugger while they replace the gadgets on supermarket trollies (and we won't be able to use euros instead in them)

I have an hour to watch the budget so I need them to get on with it!!!

I was astonished at that FiloPastry - I read this morning that there were 45m in circulation. Holy mackerel.

oh, and I have a euro that I keep in my purse SPECIFICALLY for shopping trolley purposes. Hadn't considered the extent to which this is going to inconvenience me. Alas ...

OK, here we go - George Osborne is standing up.

One day I'm going to watch government proceedings of other countries to see if they behave any more grown up.

"Our country still borrows too much ... today we do more to put that right"

"If you're a maker, a doer or a saver, this budget is for you..." He's also looking at using this budget to reduce the deficit further, he says.

Bingo number one 'hard working people'.

As an aside, the Budget is the very first thing I can remember watching on the tv, squeezed under the coffee table!

Can't look at David Cameron without thinking he looks like a nodding dog!

OBR growth forecast has been revised up to 2.7% for 2014, 2.3% for 2015, 2.6% for 2016/17.

Chinas market is reportedly a bit wobbly and slowing down.

OBR expects UK to reach point where economy is larger than before the crash some time this year.

... but he sounds a note of caution around the state of other economies, and how this will impact on ours.

Falls in claimants is due in part by many people being made ineligible surely?

Moving on to the importance of job creation/employment now ...

And so many jobs are zero hour contracts.

SarahMumsnet i used to bank lots of money in my previous job! the fakes are very obvious, they feel lighter but the banks accept them and they stay in circulation I think. Very odd.

I expect Ed Miliband will talk about that, OYBBK
