So... George Osborne will be standing up to deliver this year's Budget at 12.30pm, with announcements expected on property tax, stamp duty and the personal tax allowance. Here's what you were hoping (and dreading) would come up; time to find out whether George has been reading

Osborne claims that by 2018 we'll have got rid of the deficit, and have a small surplus.

I'm sure I read that house prices are still rising too fast.

Osborne confirms that in addition to cuts this year and next, there will be cuts in the next parliament under the Tories, too

"Difficult decisions on public pay and pensions" will be made, says Osborne.

Action on tax avoidance: Osborne will increase HMRC's budget to tackle non-compliance, and give them powers to collect debts from bank accts of those who refuse to pay.

Looking at stopping people avoiding stamp duty by buying a house through a company.

Why can't he just announce the Budget in a studio? Avoid all the heckling/shouting/jeering/farmyard stuff. Annoys me.

"From midnight tonight anyone purchasing residential property worth over half a million pounds through a corporate envelope will be required to pay 15% stamp duty."

So the new 1 coins is = 3d.
