That is 14.5%. Defend that, socialists.

He is also the only one of the Newsnight debate candidates to refuse publishing his entire tax return.

Defend that, socialists.

Figures are in this article

Aaah, long, so quaintly endearing.
Why would you expect socialists to defend left-posturing, populist careerists 'earning' more than the average workers' wage?
We have, like, principles and shit about this kind of thing

LineRunner · 05/04/2012 22:47

Why would a socialist need to defend Ken Livingstone?

longfingernails · 05/04/2012 22:51

Ken is the Labour party candidate for Mayor of London.

OP posts:
gomez · 05/04/2012 22:52

Ah the Torygraph a bastion of impartiality, clearly.

gomez · 05/04/2012 22:53

Which doesn't prevent Red Ken being a twat and Boris being a buffon.

longfingernails · 05/04/2012 22:54

gomez Are you saying that the numbers are incorrect? What does it matter whether the numbers come from the Telegraph or the Guardian? Numbers are numbers.

OP posts:
LineRunner · 05/04/2012 22:54

So Ken is the Labour Party candidate.

And?

LineRunner · 05/04/2012 22:55

Still not understanding why Ken needs to be defended by socialists.

Hissboo · 05/04/2012 22:56

Looks like Boris should be asking Ken for the name of his accountant. Tax avoidance seems key for Ken.

gomez · 05/04/2012 22:56

Aye indeed figures are figures. Can you please reconcile the two articles please - each quoting different figures?

OracleOnACrossacle · 05/04/2012 22:57
gomez · 05/04/2012 22:59

You may struggle to be fair as they don't.

Which doesn't stop Ken being a twat.

longfingernails · 05/04/2012 23:01

The 14.5% figure comes from here

DioneTheDiabolist · 05/04/2012 23:03

Each of those articles quote different figures.
Have Labour become socialist again?

I'm confused.Confused

gomez · 05/04/2012 23:04

Really have you read anything other then the headline?

Auntiestablishment · 05/04/2012 23:04

Maybe he gives lots to charity. Who knows. Who cares?

People's personal tax affairs are their own business.

gomez · 05/04/2012 23:05

Gudio Fawkes makes the Torygraph look kinda centre left, which of course doesn't inform the presentation at all.

Read the figures and think.

BonnieBumble · 05/04/2012 23:05

Agree with Gomez.

Despite being a Labour voter I would never give my vote to Ken Livingstone.

doctordwt · 05/04/2012 23:05

'Are you saying that the numbers are incorrect'

  • well clearly quite a few of them have to be because they're ALL DIFFERENT!

Grin arf

longfingernails · 05/04/2012 23:05

Why won't Ken simply get his accountant to sign off on complete figures, both for himself and his company Silveta Ltd? Boris Johnson and Brian Paddick both seemed to manage it.

OP posts:
LineRunner · 05/04/2012 23:06

Oh, did Labour turn socialist? Missed that.

mercibucket · 05/04/2012 23:07

Awwww bless, lfn
You think labour politicians have principles and tories don't, and that is why 'socialists' should be cross about this?
Almost all politicians are self-interested, self-serving and selfish these days - with a few honourable exceptions. It's quite sweet to find someone who still expects standards from labour at least
