Cllr Mackenzie calls disabled people the "unwashed"

Quite frankly i think this disabilist bastard should resign. He put his comment on twitter. It was referring to the disability protesters at Oxford Circus and Regent Street.
He is a 25 year old councillor from Basildon in Essex.
The best tweet back to him was "if you think the disabled are unwashed now just wait until they take the care component of DLA away."
This sort of blatent discrimination makes me sick. Arsehole!

in a disablist version of 'some of my best friends are black'? Wouldn't surprise me...

Well, now.

He could redeem himself nicely by publicly condemning the 20% cut to DLA (to be renamed PIP), the benefit which pays for personal care like bathing.

He could stand up in his own council and pledge not to cut the personal care his council provides directly.

If he's not prepared to do that, then frankly he might as well call disabled people "the unwashed" - because many will be.

That's a very good idea, Nilgiri, in fact I think I will ask my family in Basildon to write to him and both the conservative and labour leaders and suggest just that
