I'm not quite a frothing berserker but I am getting rather cross with our government messing with the good stuff.

Just off the top of my head:

  • Student fees
  • Public sector workers terms and conditions (otherwise known as moving the goal posts after the match has started)
  • Women (Report on Fawcett legal challenge result here)
  • Sure Start
  • NHS
  • Erosion of employment rights
  • Removal of EMA
  • Removal of universal child benefit
  • Unfair changes to DLA
  • Unfair changes to ESA assessment

I am getting more and more fed up that these decisions are being made to take away some of the things we should be most proud of and that took years to be achieved.

This thread is a safe haven for some ranting as I know some of us are feeling sick and tired of it all.

Yes, I am charming. If you met me in real life, I have no doubt you would think I was a fine person, with integrity, a work ethic, doing my best to bring up both my children to the best of my ability. You know, normal. I work hard, my husband works hard in a job he hates just to pay the mortgage and scrape a living. Again, fairly normal.

One of my major faults though is my intolerance of tory wankers. Or those that follow and support them without a second glance at the destruction that these men are wreaking on the weakest in our society. I'm also fairly intolerant of the mealy mouthedness of those that have in this country demanding that those that don't have give more and more.

Oh, I forgot to mention my disabled son who basically has no future if these evil cunts get their way.

How the hell is my autistic son meant to get a job when he leaves school and how is he meant to live if there are no support networks for him. But you probably don't care about that do you.

So, I'll say it again. Take your smart quips and fuck the fuck off. And when you get there, fuck off again.

ShirleyKnot · 30/11/2011 16:12

You surprise me claig, and a very nice surprise it is too.

And thank you.

lubeybaublely · 30/11/2011 16:12

I posted on the Ed Miliband webchat thing. Hope he answers.

WELL DONE AnyFucker

He kept using 'left wing' as an insult in PMQ's too.

LaydeeC · 30/11/2011 16:13

Claig, now I'm confused. Can't quite get why, if you support the strikes and like Shirley's ditty, you posted as you did.

If I have got it wrong, my apologies.

claig · 30/11/2011 16:15

LaydeeC, I'll say to you, I'm not a Tory wanker. I can see that you are intolerant and I pity you.

So, I'll say it again. Take your unsmart insults and stick them you know where.

If there's one thing I can't stand it's intolerant self-righteous bullies who think that only they are caring.

AnyFucker · 30/11/2011 16:16

Woah!!

lubeybaublely · 30/11/2011 16:17

Claig Brew

LaydeeC Brew

A very british cuppa to you both, lets not turn this thread into a bunfight eh? it's all been going so well

claig · 30/11/2011 16:18

I posted as I did because I don't support Labour. They were the ones who landed us in this mess with their "light touch regulation" of teh banks. I don't support cuts and austerity and I believe that they are all in it together including New Labour and Miliband.

claig · 30/11/2011 16:20

thanks lubeybaublely, a cuppa to you too Brew

ShirleyKnot · 30/11/2011 16:20

I think it's fair enough to not be overly enamoured by Labour - or ANY of them at the moment TBH, and I thought this thread was not meant to be party political?

Anyhoo

Wine anyone?

AnyFucker · 30/11/2011 16:20

Ladies please, this is an example of how our "betters" and leaders of our country are pitting ordinary decent folk against each other, and robbing us blind as we slug it out with each other

Let's leave the demonising to them, eh ? They are doing a brilliant job of that by loading our guns for us, then sitting back as we shoot each other in the head

Please stop

Feelings are runnng very high on this thread, but it was started in a spirit of support by Kate, who sensed that some people are actually much more down and demoralised than even their ranty posts on MN would suggest

I am one of them, and frankly I am sick of the pointless arguing while Rome burns

AnyFucker · 30/11/2011 16:23

It has been said upthread, several times, that all the parties have one thing in mind

To line their own pockes with scant regard for the ordinary citizen

The Tories are more in the firing line at the moment, the reasoning why being pretty obvious

But I cannot stomach any of them

LaydeeC · 30/11/2011 16:25

Oh, but I'm not self-righteous nor do I think that only I am caring. I can see a lot of posters on this thread are caring. I generally believe that society is a caring one.

Please don't spare any pity for me. Not sure that I'm a bully either. I am, however, frothing mad at what this government is doing to ordinary people. I make no apology whatsoever of my intolerance of them or those that support them (including some of my family members).

Also, I think you were first in with the unsmart quips. if you were trying to be funny, it wasn't.

Although you don't care, I'll tell you anyway, that I went to bed last night feeling very scared indeed. When I'm not around, my son has no-one to look out for him or advocate for him. I am in no mood today for smart quips.

ShirleyKnot · 30/11/2011 16:26

I don't think it's entirely down to the tories (although I hate them with a fiery passion)..the preceding government were faily shit hot as pushing through the deregulation of the banks as well IIRC.

Thanks for marching today old bean! I've been at work but deliberately drove past our council offices in my lunch hour just so I could hoot my horn and cheer as I went past them. Grin

claig · 30/11/2011 16:26

AnyFucker, you are right. But I think it is about more than just lining their pockets.

They were all going to impose cuts on ordinary people and reduce their pensions and make them work longer. Harriet Harman started teh work on extending teh pension age and Iain Duncan Smith extended it.

I support people striking and think it is ridiculous that Tory ministers are accusing millions of ordinary people of being irresponsible. But if Labour had been in power, I bet they would have been doing exactly teh same thing because deep down they are all practically teh same.

claig · 30/11/2011 16:29

Lots of people are scared and lots of people are far worse off than you. But they don't go round insulting others who haven't said anything to them. If you insult someone, then you should expect to get a response.

LaydeeC · 30/11/2011 16:29

Brew accepted. And, of course, apologies for getting into a bunfight Blush

Hullygully · 30/11/2011 16:31

FORWARD TOGETHER!

REMEMBER OUR COMMON AIM AND GOAL IS TO STOP BRITAIN PLC

claig · 30/11/2011 16:32

Cheers Wine and I apologise for having a go

Hullygully · 30/11/2011 16:32

Oh well done you've made up

ShirleyKnot · 30/11/2011 16:34
Grin
LaydeeC · 30/11/2011 16:34

True that a lot of people are worse off than me.
Not sure where I insulted you - I told you to fuck off after you posted a couple of, what I interpreted as, antagonising comments.
But, I don't want to hijack this thread - it was bobbing along nicely so I will bow out.

lubeybaublely · 30/11/2011 16:35

Brew and Wine all round as appropriate

claig · 30/11/2011 16:36

Labour's Liz Kendall was very good on Sky News today against Louise Mensch. Liz is very good, I hope she goes a lot higher.

LaydeeC · 30/11/2011 16:36

Claig - damn this time delay in posting. Have just responded to your last comment and you've written again!!!
Apologies to you as well - it is not an excuse but I am in a really foul mood today about the statement yesterday. And it didn't take much to light the fuse.

I really am a very nice person in real life.
Can we start again. Flowers
