Just saying.

You're a bit obsessed with the 'no money left' thing aren't you Claig?
Not a lot to justify your worship of Camoron et al....

Glitterknickaz · 24/07/2011 23:02

A monetary God whose policies have led to stagnation of the economy Hmm
In case you hadn't noticed we're not spending, inflation is increasing. We're going down the toilet the other way now.

skirt · 24/07/2011 23:03

I think he's probably more charismatic than Eamon Holmes, to be fair. But probably not as politically aware.

claig · 24/07/2011 23:03

Glitterknickaz, I didn't see that. I am sure there are lots of holes in his knowledge, but he is capable of filling the holes in, given time. He does have lots on his plate.

Glitterknickaz · 24/07/2011 23:05

You do know that Cameron doesn't do this single handed don't you?
He heads up the departments yes and is ultimately in charge but he's not the one making the minutae of policy. He should at least be informed and aware of what his party are doing!

claig · 24/07/2011 23:05

No, we are temporarily going through a hard time as he tightens the belt. There's little else he can do, given the grim contents of the note left by Labour.

Malcontentinthemiddle · 24/07/2011 23:06

he does, bless him. I'm sure he'll read the Daily Mail and sort himself out soon.

Glitterknickaz · 24/07/2011 23:06

Economy. Stagnation. Inflation.
How is this making things better?

Malcontentinthemiddle · 24/07/2011 23:06

enough with the note already!

claig · 24/07/2011 23:06

He's a clever man, a Bullingdon member who studied PPE at Oxford. We're in good hands.

Glitterknickaz · 24/07/2011 23:07

steps backwards
omg
its Tory Evangelism!!!!

screams and runs

claig · 24/07/2011 23:07

' I'm sure he'll read the Daily Mail and sort himself out soon.'

That's very good advice. I hope he heeds it.

Glitterknickaz · 24/07/2011 23:09

Too right.
He'll soon learn that Hitler had the right idea.

hmmm.... it was the Daily Mail who were supportive of the Nazi party during WW2 wasn't it?

skirt · 24/07/2011 23:09

This has to be a piss take. He studies PPE eh? Thank fuck he knows when the going's tough, to put his high vis jacket on

claig · 24/07/2011 23:10

'Economy. Stagnation. Inflation.
How is this making things better?'

He is trying to reduce our expenditure and reduce our debt. When he succeeds, we will out of the thick, dark Labour woods and into the pastures of freedom and prosperity.

Malcontentinthemiddle · 24/07/2011 23:10

I don't know for sure, and please do correct me if the Daily Mail you think I'm wrong, but I'm not sure the Bullers recruit by intellect. I think it's just if you went to right school and appear to look as though you might enjoy trashing the businesses of local decent ordinary people in your amusing drunken public school high jinks....... but I dunno, maybe it's for the most intellectually adept undergrads who are very good at swotting in the library. Is it?

claig · 24/07/2011 23:10

skirt, yes the Bullingdon and PPE references were a joke.

Malcontentinthemiddle · 24/07/2011 23:12

So are we not in good hands?

claig · 24/07/2011 23:13

'it was the Daily Mail who were supportive of the Nazi party during WW2 wasn't it?'

Not at all. That would have been tantamount to treason. But many people thought Hitler was good before the war. Time Magazine made him Man of the Year in 1938.

sfxmum · 24/07/2011 23:13

Claig that very fact pretty much makes the case against him understanding the rest of the country, he seems to have a very limited view and is surrounded by people equally blinkered
Being clever in his own turf does not necessarily make him 'The Man for the job'

In a way it demonstrates that there has not been much progress in this country in broadening the group from whence the leader come in fact it seems reactionary

skirt · 24/07/2011 23:13

Oh god. A Tory having a laugh? Least some fuckers are still cheerful, I'm off to put my kids on ebay, laters

claig · 24/07/2011 23:14

Bullingdon Bertie was a joke, but in good hands was the truth.

claig · 24/07/2011 23:17

sfxmum, you are right, he is surrounded by many public school boys etc. But I am sure he is also in contact with a wider circle. But Harriet Harman and Ed Balls went to private schools. So it is similar, but less frequent, on the other side.

Becaroooo · 24/07/2011 23:29

Sigh.

He, and all his Tory cronies with their hugely priviledged upbringings and oxbridge education are making laws and decisions that affect real people......People with mortgages to pay off, no trust fund from Daddy to fall back on, no mates in high places who can get us a job etc etc

The thought of DC and GO et al telling us "We are all in this together" makes me nauseated.

They have NO idea, as Thatcher didnt - and her ignorance and arrogance was her undoing in the end.

Becaroooo · 24/07/2011 23:30

Anyone see the "Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle" episode about DC and the Bullingdon Club??
