Hi there.

Wanted to let you know that I've just put together our first "prayer letter" for going to Venezuela on Friday!

I don't want to post it on here but if you CAT me with your email I'll send it on if you are interested!

(DO thanks for your message. Very wise!! I will respond!)

positiveattitudeonly · 06/10/2009 07:23

Mary - pleased that the interview went well.

Weegiemum - I'd love to pray for you through this venture. I'd love to hear how it all goes - Very interested as we are beginning to think we may be heading for something, somewhere in the world, but have felt like this before and ended up 7 miles down the road, which was hardly the Carribean that I was hoping for! I don't CAT, but my address is directioneeded at aol dot com (1 "n" in the middle!)

Prayers for everyone.

weegiemum · 06/10/2009 08:25

I've sent it PAO. I put weegiemum in the title in case it goes in your junk!

M44 · 06/10/2009 10:11

Can I ask you lovely ladies what happened to the Bible reflection threads? Am I missing them, or are they not happening anymore, if not, any ideas why not? I thought they generated some good discussion.
Thanks

CaptainDippy · 07/10/2009 11:42

No idea I am afraid, PAO

How is everyone today? I am feeling "odd", prayers appreciated

OP posts:
KayHarkerIsKayHarker · 07/10/2009 15:27

Justa decided not to do the bible-ish threads anymore, I think - they were an awful lot of work and she caught some flak for it I think.

Thankyou for your prayers ladies, I think I can see a light at the end of the tunnel now.

Notquitegrownup · 07/10/2009 17:03

Glad that you are feeling a bit lighter Kay Are you still in touch with Justa, by the way? How is she? still MNing ever?

PAO - there was a recent revival of Bible study, which didn't quite take off, but had some good thoughts.

Prayers for your oddness, CD.

Flying by. Whooosh

KayHarkerIsKayHarker · 07/10/2009 17:04

I think I saw her around t'other day, and we exchange emails occasionally. I've spelt that wrong, I know I have

positiveattitudeonly · 07/10/2009 17:14

Thanks for the info. I will just keep my eyes open if one pops up again. Such a shame someone got flak for doing it!

Prayers all round. Hope "ODD" feeling lifts.
Weegiemum - prayers aplenty for your family over the coming weeks. Enjoy yourself and look forward to hearing all about it when you get back.

amberlight · 07/10/2009 17:42

Praying through....and thank you to those that prayed for my "help!" prayer the other day. Situation still ongoing, but there's a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. It might be an oncoming express train, though...

Notquitegrownup · 07/10/2009 17:51

Most recent one Bible reflection Week 1 here I think PAO. I didn't post, but it really spoke to me. You could always choose a topic and start Week 2.

Must be a quiet day. I noticed we were no 10 in the conversations of the day a moment ago!!

God bless all

CaptainDippy · 07/10/2009 19:54

Oddness lifted a bit, thank you

positiveattitudeonly · 07/10/2009 20:32

Thanks NQGU. I think we should make a concerted effort to keep ourselves in the top 10!!
Seriously though, do you think people are aware that we are here if they need us? I know a few people find us and put on prayer requests, but just wondering how accessible it is for the majority. But then, I suppose that would open ourselves for all sorts of abuse and unnecessary bad feelings, maybe. Sorry, just rambling and pondering "aloud" really.
Glad the oddness has lifted.
Hope you are all doing well, having peaceful nights sleep - those with little ones I mean!

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 07/10/2009 22:28

Evening ladies,

I spotted this thread in my MN browsing a few weeks ago and have sought you out tonight cos I have a situation in real need of prayer.

It concerns a young couple who have been coming to out church for the past 6 months (recently moved into the area), they have one daughter (2ish) and were expecting twins. Mum was admitted to hospital on Monday for an emergency ceasarean. Twins delivered ok though quite premature but Mum had multiple organ failure and Dad was told to prepare for the worst. Our vicar was called to the hospital at 2am Tuesday morning. Mercifully signs are better today and the latest reports from Intensive Care are that she is in a critical conditon. The twins are in neonatal ICU in seperate hospitals.

Our house group has been praying for them this evening and I am trying to. I am feeling overwhelmed. Please pray for Mum and babies to recover and for dad to be strong and for this family to be surrounded by God's love and care.

MaryBS · 08/10/2009 08:02

Yorkshireteadrinker, will definitely keep that family in prayer. How prem are the twins?

PAO, there was a week 2 bible reflection:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/philosophy_religion_spirituality/825251-Bible-reflection-week-2, again, sadly neglected . Perhaps people are looking for something which isn't 'labelled' as bible study? Maybe some situation in life, relevant to us all, but then perhaps the bible passages could link into it - if you see what I mean? Apply the bible to everyday life rather than just study the bible?

MaryBS · 08/10/2009 08:06

Would welcome prayers for my church (again). Am somewhat concerned about gossip and the damage it is causing. Also misunderstandings which are causing great pain amongst the congregation. Also for discernment for me, re: confidences.

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 08/10/2009 08:52

Thanks Mary. The twins are 6 weeks prem.

I'll be praying for your church, it is so sad when churches turn in on themselves and people start saying and doing hurtful things.

JentlyDoesIt · 08/10/2009 09:04

Hello all,

So sorry I haven't been around, laptop trouble however, I now have my very own shiny new laptop so am back up and running!

Prayers for all, esp dizzy and her girls, so very sad

Also prayers for the poorly mum with twins, hope all are well and healthy soon

CD - hope you are feeling less "odd" now

Love and prayers for all, sorry for short post but it is DP's birthday and I am taking him out for a birthday breakfast as I am working a late shift and won't be home til 9pm...

positiveattitudeonly · 08/10/2009 10:26

Prayers for the twins, for their mum and family. Please keep us posted YorkshireTeaDrinker.
Perhaps my ramblings yesterday were answered by your message. You found this thread, well done!

Mary - Prayers for your church. This is such a spiritual battle! I believe that people can be more hurt from within their own church community than from the non-churched outside the doors! Our church went through a terrible time a while back and so many people were hurt badly by other Christian's reactions. Our minister did a really good sermon from Acts. About the early church working together, living together, giving everything they had to each other and just simply loving each other, but concentrating on Jesus and not other's faults. It was a powerful message at a crucial time and some people took offence and left, but others felt really challenged to change their ways. Praying that your situation can be turned around without people getting hurt.
Thanks for the link on the week 2 one. Yes I had seen that one, but think that was the last. Maybe it does need to be more "life application", but I know I steer clear of some of the threads with all sorts of faith views on as they can get very heated and a bit all at once. Not quite what I would want to comment on!

JDI - Have a good breakfast with DP. Happy Birthday to him!

have a good day all.

If you get on here before you go weegiemum, will you ahve internet access over the next few weeks?

M44 · 08/10/2009 14:58

hello- praying for you all-have plenty of time-resting!!

Just received communion and prayer-promise me if any of you have traumatic experiences do this as soon as you can after those bad experiences. Just found it so powerfully healing and restoring.

DutchOma · 08/10/2009 15:16

Glad to hear you are resting M44 and that you feel the Lord is healing you.
Prayers for the twins and for Mary and her church.

weegiemum · 08/10/2009 15:19
