BT, praying for you and your family in your loss . Its easy to think of things that we wish we'd done for a loved one, but don't beat yourself up about it. There are some things that don't need language, including the love of a family and delight in a young one. How she must have loved meeting your DS!

Praying for understanding and discernment in your relationship, NSFN.

Lottie, have you been able to get your house sorted out? Its horrible when things go wrong like that

I heard from Rev justabout earlier, update on her dad:

"As of late last night it looks as if

  1. the first blood transfusion has taken well, so he is stable
  2. he is having massive doses of antibiotics intravenously which seem to be keeping infections under control
  3. he is in isolation and remains in hospital for now."

The Rev is off to foreign climes, so please God, keep her father safe at least until she returns...

amber32002 · 08/03/2009 20:49

Prayers for each situation as I read through

Could do with prayers myself, though wish I could articulate why...

BouncingTurtle · 08/03/2009 21:28

Thanks for the prayersm and for the update on the Rev's dad, Mary.

Amber - hope you are okay.

DutchOma · 09/03/2009 09:13

Prayers for you BT and for your dad and the rest of the family. As Mary says, it is always the case that you feel you could have done more, but you did as much as you could.

Amber, sending you some sunshine from the Lord to sit in, hope you find a little moment to enjoy it. Prayers for your dh as well.

All well here as far as I know.

Notquitegrownup · 09/03/2009 10:09

Good morning all. Flying by.

Do you remember that we were praying for Fiona and David Fulton, the missionaries who had been imprisoned in the Gambia? I was thinking about them this morning, and just found this update link here which gives details of how they are now, and an address to write to to tell them you are thinking of them, as well as the President of Gambia's address if you want to write to him too. Just thought that I would share that.

Praying. God bless all.

DutchOma · 09/03/2009 10:27

Thsnks for that NQGU

CaptainDippy · 09/03/2009 11:10

Thank you NQGU

On-going prayers for Rev's dad here, sounding like good news so far Praying protection for Rev as she jets off for a while too.

Praying for you amber - we're here for you!! How's DH??

Sorry for your loss BT Prayers for you and your family. xx

Hey NSFN - sorry for "disappearing" on FB last night, DH needed computer and I was shattered. Always here if you need to chat though

DH is doing really well, which is such good news. But doing nearly all the coping by myself has taken so much out of me, I think. I really really wish there were proper autism support services for adults so we didn't have to deal with an ASD dh in hospital and all the decisions and everything else without any guidance other than remembering to ask anyone and everyone for help (sometimes to their considerable surprise and complete lack of an appropriate answer). One day there'll be qualified help...

CaptainDippy · 09/03/2009 22:34

Oh amber - I wish there was too. Please accept a >

OP posts:
ZipadiSoozi · 10/03/2009 12:15

amber - aw, payers for you, definite {{{{{{hugs}}}}}} excuse my ignorance, but, isn't there any professional help about?

In one of our local magazines there is an ad for a 'Professional Organiser' shame its not available on the NHS! alot of it is de-cluttering our houses, but she offers a wider range of help in family oganisation, check it out on 'wellorganised.org'

Sounds lovely to think somebody could sort eveything out for you.

I wish I lived closer to you, to give you physical help! but if there is anything I can do over the phone or e-mail, please ask, I'll prompt you!

ZipadiSoozi · 10/03/2009 12:28

On a less important matter, prayers for our car, just failed its MOT Mr Bank Manager is going to despair of us vey soon!

Only God knows what is instore for us in the next month, so prayers would be appreciated as I work hard to keep our heads above water. pardon the pun! (being a swimming instructor)

CaptainDippy · 10/03/2009 12:58

Oh gosh, Soooz How much needs spending on it to get it through?? Total bummer. Blows a big raspberry on Sooz's behalf!! How's DH's hand? xx

OP posts:
MaryBS · 10/03/2009 16:19

Praise God, I've finished my presentation!!! I just need to summarise it in a handout, but all the hard work is done on it

Sooz, praying for your ongoing financial situation, that God will be bountiful and reward you in your faithfulness.

Can I share this with everyone? I've been exploring that Loyola Press website and have found some good things. This is quite interesting, its on "the symptoms of Desolation and blessings of Consolation":

www.loyolapress.com/discernment-consolation-and-desolation.htm

PandaG · 10/03/2009 16:29

Notquitegrownup · 10/03/2009 16:47

Aw, that's nice Mary. Thanks for that.

Hi Panda! What is your assignment on? (and how is Worzella? I've been thinking about her recently - not sure why!)

Hello everyone

DutchOma · 10/03/2009 17:16

Congratulations Mary, I was just wondering today how your course was going.

lottiejenkins · 10/03/2009 18:14

SIGN LANGAUGE PRAYER

TEACH US, O GOD
THAT SILENT LANGUAGE
WHICH SAYS ALL THINGS...
TEACH US TO REMAIN QUIET UNDER YOUR ACTIONS
AND PRODUCE IN OUR SOULS
THAT DEEP AND SIMPLE PRAYER WHICH SAYS NOTHING
AND EXPRESSES EVERYTHING
WHICH SPECIFIES NOTHING
AND INCLUDES EVERYTHING

Our local school where i work is a Deaf Aware School (through the NDCS) Im so pleased as the children are learning to sign The Lords Prayer. Wilf is learning it as well at his school and the children between them are going to teach the congregation how to sign TLP on Mothering Sunday! The above prayer is one that I have found which I thought would be suitable to use on MS as well!

JentlyDoesIt · 10/03/2009 20:20

Hi Girls,

Firstly, please could I ask for your prayers for my DD? She was very sick this morning and not even keeping water down, so I took her to the GP who took one look and phoned the hospital to tell the paed registrar that we were coming in [ahock]. She has a viral sick bug and hasn't kept anything down all day except a few sips of water. They have sent us home with some Dirulyte (sp) and she has gone to bed ok but I tried her on some milk before bed and some Calpol and it was all returned at speed please pray that this bug is short lived, she hasn't got any weight to lose and is really miserable and Mummy is very worried...

Lottie - I heard Aled Jones this week and stopped for a moment to listen to the song and think of you and the other mummies...

BT - so sorry for your loss

Sooz - prayers for a kindly mechanic and your finances, hope for quick and good healing of DH's hand.

CD - Just seen FB - did you get your chocolate???

Amber - you have done so magnificently well. I would definitely struggle if I was in your position and I don't have the challenges you face. You are a marvel

lottiejenkins · 10/03/2009 20:42

Thanks JDI xx

Swaliswan · 10/03/2009 21:37

Just popping on quickly to say that I'm still praying for you all.

I'm still managing to keep this baby where it belongs for now although I feel like I am struggling with typical late pregnancy symptoms and a DH who doesn't seem to understand what it is like to be heavily pg or that mat leave is not a holiday.

I had to post to say specifically to JDI that I'm praying for you. I remember when DD had to go to hospital with a horrible viral bug and we were sent home with dioralyte. It is scary when they get so dehydrated that they just flop. Prayers that she will get over the bug ASAP and that you manage to get enough rest.

BouncingTurtle · 10/03/2009 22:24

Thanks to all, ust a flying visit from me been very busy doing an online course.
Haven't spoken to my dad, will need to call him tomorrow but have had a horrid cough/sore throat thing which is making it impossible to speak! It was my last day at work today as well so has been quite emotional. Got a lovely gift from them all
Praying for you all.

ZipadiSoozi · 10/03/2009 22:31

CD - thanks for your funny ha ha support, can just picture myself blowing raspberry at the garageman (I'll whisper the amount - £200) although I didn't whisper when he told me, think I screeched in disbelief could have been worse!

DH arm is aching, serves him right! (me now getting very fed up with him) no sympathy! bored now!!!! in plaster till at least end of March! {{{{{{sigh}}}}}} then its physio!

Jently - aw prayers for your little sweetie! yukky for her (and you)

Mary - Congratulations on finishing your presentation!

Talking of presentations, dd had to do a solo ballroom presentation dance last weekend, in front of 100 people, just her and dance teacher, was a gulp lump in throat proud mummy moment, she's only 5yo - she was so beautiful waltzing around the dance hall, everybody gave her a round of applause!

Sorry I do chat on don't I (everything and nothing) maybe bored housewife syndrome I may be bored but I'm sooooo busy!
