Mumsnet Christian Prayer Thread for late summer

It's quite amazing how quickly the time goes. Looking back over the past six weeks there is not much that really lights up apart for the birth of Oliver Benjamin on the 1st August to Mr and CaptainCaveman and Tom. Praise God that all medical intervention went well and that Oliver was born safely and is feeding well
We pray for two other expected babies: Myjobismum's which is expected at the beginning of October and Swaliswan's who only just confirmed the pregnancy. Pray that all may go well, bearing in mind her miscarriage in February.

The weather this summer has not been very good and a lot of us have been on holiday and have struggled to a greater or lesser degree:- Soozy, Podmog, Dumbledoresgirl, Amber and Mary (who is still away).
We give thanks that Mary was not seriously hurt after an accident on her bike; also for her church placement in an immigration reception centre. Nearer the time this will need much prayer.

We pray for Weegiemum who suffers with frequent kidney stones and who has the additional difficulties in obtaining adequate pain relief.

We give thanks with Myjobismum for a much better prognosis for the baby of a young friend. Initially it was thought that the baby might have to spend months in hospital, the baby will still need a lot of care but it is now thought that it will be weeks rather than months.
We also pray for Henry,(thanks to StickyJ who flagged this up for us) who has had operations and is still very up and down and for the baby of Mascarpone's friend in New Zealand who is suffering from trigonocephaly.
We pray for two other 'newbies' on the thread: longlegted and livvylouis.
We pray for Amber and Roseylea, Notquitegrownup and Notsofarnow, (prayers for dd, GCSE results and MRI scan results),Jentlydoesit, FAQ, Mufti and PandaG.
We give thanks with Marslady who managed to support the parents of two fatboys and twind, within the space of a week. we have seen real answers to prayer here.
We pray for those who have suffered bereavements: Onlyjoking, Evenstar and MartianBishop and we pray for Mummy2TandF on the coming first anniversary of her dh's death
Last but not least we hold up our own CaptainDippy who is still not in the right place healthwise and who is struggling in other ways as well. Lord, bring someone alongside her to guide her, support her, emotionally and practically and please Lord, make her aware of your loving presence.

We praise God for the ability to pray for one another in the certainty that He hears our prayers and deals with them in His infinite wisdom and compassion.

Evening All!

I've just been reading through all of your prayer requests and praying as I read them.

I'm six weeks pg today which is my first milestone. I bled at 5.5 weeks with my previous two mc's. I'm feeling more sick and tired today which is reassuring but I still don't feel pg yet (if that makes any sense at all). I'm having some mild cramping this evening but I think that I managed to induce that by doing pelvic floor exercises after watching a TV advert for Always Envive Thank-you for all of your prayers. I am feeling less panicked and know that you have been praying. My next milestone is going to the doctors next thursday to confirm the pg and fill out the usual paperwork. I really hope that my GP is understanding and sends me for an early scan but I don't think it will happen.

CaptainDippy · 28/08/2008 22:39

Weegiemum · 29/08/2008 10:58

I love you ladies!

Apart from prayer for me this weekend, can ou pray for dd2.

SHe has an ongoing hip problem (Perthes disease) and last night was up 4 times crying in pain from her hip. She is limping and having real bother today so she is off school. Can you pray for a respite for the pain for her.

at night she is allowed painkillers, but not through the day (as it would encourage her to weight bear and she really mustnt.

So I am knackered, she is knackered (she slept till 10am, even with me getting the other 2 out to school)

Please pray for ease of her pain, and that she can cope with it - another year of this is pretty much on the cards - she has another x-ray in a fortnight, and the consultant is expecting more deterioration at this point.

CaptainDippy · 29/08/2008 11:02

Oh WM, your poor baby girl It must be breaking your heart to see her in so much pain Can you do some special things together today? Praying for her discomfort and for the appts. xxxx

I could use a few prayers at the mo. My current job contract runs out at the end of Nov. Can you all please pray that something comes up, is advertised and that the future becomes a little more certain?

thanks

chibi · 29/08/2008 15:59

Prayers especially for cvq who is struggling at the mo + aitch and family may God keep them all

notsofarnow · 29/08/2008 18:00

myjobismum i could never cope with iron tablets i took something from the chemist (name has completely escaped me) basically it iron water it's in little sachets and you just take it with orange juice, its easily absorbed and doesn't have the nasty side effects or iron tabs. Ah thats it Spa tone thinking as i'm writing.

Please pray for dd her shoulder is really giving her lots of pain she too was in tears last night. I would so love her to be pain free but I can't ever see her being

CaptainDippy · 29/08/2008 19:25

Flouridix is also fab as an iron supplement - available from placesl ike Holland and Barratt etc

Lots of prayers for all in pain, all who are worried, all who are wondering what on earth the day or evening holds, and all whose prayers are known to them alone.

I'm sorry I'm not being very good at being chatty at the moment - I've got so much filling my mind that I'm finding it hard to concentrate on all the individual names, though I pray through each one

PS please can I ask for prayers for me to recover from a very major mistake I made today because I didn't understand the social stuff. Been feeling really shaky ever since.

livvylouis · 29/08/2008 21:05

Hi all,
Thanks for the prayers regarding my friend with the twins, heard today that she and twin 1 are home and hopefully twin 2 will be joining them soon as he is doing much better . Praise God!
Prayers to all of you and your poor children in pain.
Only a little prayer for me, that the weather is nice tomorrow as we are having the first family day out in ages.
xxx

DutchOma · 30/08/2008 10:02

Prayers for Amber, that God may show you that to Him you don't make mistakes because He loves you so much. Please feel picked up, dusted down and set off again.
Praise and thanks to God for your friend's twins, may they thrive in the power of the Holy spirit.
Weather here doesn't seem too bad, bit overcast but pleasant. Hope it's like that where you are.

May I ask for prayers for my dear friends and neighbours Bob and Margaret (I know Margaret and I have a Bob each).
Bob has been in hospital since Tuesday because he kept falling due to his Parkinson's disease. He is totally out of his depth in hospital but Margaret could not possibly cope with him at home. No care plans are in place and they are very distressed indeed.

MJIM, I tend to take the Centrum vitamin and mineral tablets that have the '100% oof your daily dose of iron' in them, but they're not cheap. It helps me, since I tend to get anaemic as well, and I didn't get on with the iron tablets from the doctors. There again, I suppose they would have suggested that if they thought it would work, and maybe you wouldn't need the other things in it...

Prayers aplenty again for all, and thank you for your prayers re my situation. I feel much more 'together' today after a nice meal out at lunchtime and some gardening.

notsofarnow · 30/08/2008 18:27

I'm sinking
