Mumsnet Christian Prayer Thread for late summer

It's quite amazing how quickly the time goes. Looking back over the past six weeks there is not much that really lights up apart for the birth of Oliver Benjamin on the 1st August to Mr and CaptainCaveman and Tom. Praise God that all medical intervention went well and that Oliver was born safely and is feeding well
We pray for two other expected babies: Myjobismum's which is expected at the beginning of October and Swaliswan's who only just confirmed the pregnancy. Pray that all may go well, bearing in mind her miscarriage in February.

The weather this summer has not been very good and a lot of us have been on holiday and have struggled to a greater or lesser degree:- Soozy, Podmog, Dumbledoresgirl, Amber and Mary (who is still away).
We give thanks that Mary was not seriously hurt after an accident on her bike; also for her church placement in an immigration reception centre. Nearer the time this will need much prayer.

We pray for Weegiemum who suffers with frequent kidney stones and who has the additional difficulties in obtaining adequate pain relief.

We give thanks with Myjobismum for a much better prognosis for the baby of a young friend. Initially it was thought that the baby might have to spend months in hospital, the baby will still need a lot of care but it is now thought that it will be weeks rather than months.
We also pray for Henry,(thanks to StickyJ who flagged this up for us) who has had operations and is still very up and down and for the baby of Mascarpone's friend in New Zealand who is suffering from trigonocephaly.
We pray for two other 'newbies' on the thread: longlegted and livvylouis.
We pray for Amber and Roseylea, Notquitegrownup and Notsofarnow, (prayers for dd, GCSE results and MRI scan results),Jentlydoesit, FAQ, Mufti and PandaG.
We give thanks with Marslady who managed to support the parents of two fatboys and twind, within the space of a week. we have seen real answers to prayer here.
We pray for those who have suffered bereavements: Onlyjoking, Evenstar and MartianBishop and we pray for Mummy2TandF on the coming first anniversary of her dh's death
Last but not least we hold up our own CaptainDippy who is still not in the right place healthwise and who is struggling in other ways as well. Lord, bring someone alongside her to guide her, support her, emotionally and practically and please Lord, make her aware of your loving presence.

We praise God for the ability to pray for one another in the certainty that He hears our prayers and deals with them in His infinite wisdom and compassion.

Praying for you all, especially for your job Katz whenever I pray for DH's job.

I feel like Nemo in the Finding Nemo film:
Just keep praying (Nemo was Just keep Swimming btw)
Just keep praying
Praying, Praying, Just keep praying....

Weegiemum · 02/09/2008 00:24

popping in to say hello.
well you did some good praying cos dd2 has been fine ever since - her leg is a lot better and she has stopped limping again.

The w/e was fine, but very tense. We had a kind of half hearted discussion about the whole Sunday Lunch thing, which we thought had dealt with it, but SIL left quite a ghastly message on the phone today saying that we hadn't 'talked' and that she was 'demanding' an explanation for my 'behaviour' and she had 'so much hurt and anger' over the whole thing.

I'm failing to understand something here I think. I didn't want to have Sunday Lunch with her mother who is rude to my children. end of. I don't get what it wrong, and as I am still losing a lot of sleep with the kidney stones (have a referral from the GP to the hospital though so that is good) I can't deal with it right now.

Emotionally - I'm fragile. Don't think my depression is rearing its head again, but I am tired, and kind of 'blue' a lot of the time, adn have been crying when people are nice to me.

Your prayers are very very much appreciated.

CaptainDippy · 02/09/2008 07:49

Come for a holiday on the South Coast!!! xxx Praying for you - please please email if you need. xx

LOL @ your praying Nemo Milliways Brilliant!!

MaryBS · 02/09/2008 08:38

Prayers for all those who are low and in need of spiritual refreshment.

WM, your SIL is out of order on this, but your sisters in Christ are on your side, so if you want us to come in "heavy", we're here for you . I can sympathise with the feeling fragile, but know that our faith is made perfect in our weakness.

Love to all, better hurry the kiddiwinks up, they're supposed to be getting ready for school!

DutchOma · 02/09/2008 08:45

WM, just leave it. Let you SIL do all the demanding of explanations she likes, smile sweetly and do nothing. Don't even think about it any more. It's over and done with, you're safely home, there are routine jobs to be done, kidney stones to be coped with dcs to be coped with, all that is important, SIL is not.
Find a treat for yourself, whatever you fancy, maybe start a thread about "what constitutes a treat for you" Would be interesting to know. Mine is buying a book or a CD

MJIM - prayers for your pelvis! I had spd in my first pregnancy and it was awful, though it never recurred.

And thatnkyou all again for being nice to me. I am going to have to stop reading this thread as it keeps on making me cry - we have this great little community here and it has meant a lot recently while I have struggled a lot.

Thankyou

mufti · 02/09/2008 10:00

i feel a bit low today, just taking ds to the park while the sun is shining , that may help

Weegiemum · 02/09/2008 10:04

Aww Mufti - join the 'feeling a bit low today' club with me.

getting out in he sun is good. It smells a little bit cold and what ds called "all autumuny" this morning here. Nice!

Have fun at the park.

livvylouis · 02/09/2008 10:47

Hi all,
just popping in to say hello.

MJIM- praying that your pelvis gets better soon I also suffered in the last few weeks of my pregnancy and know how miserable it can be.

WM & Mufti sorry to "see" your both feeling low at the moment praying that things brighten up for you both soon!

Could I ask you ladies for a prayer for my DH great aunt who wont be with us for very much longer. She is very ill and I think she just wants peace now.
Thankyou ladies xxx

Weegiemum · 02/09/2008 11:25

CD - have just written you a monster moany old email which is probably ghastly but has allowed me to get a lot of stuff off my chest about in-laws. You are under no obligation to read or respond, cos I feel better just for writing it! You did say to email if I wanted!

amber32002 · 02/09/2008 11:42

Prayers of praise from me that I got through the newspaper interview about the autism work I'm doing yesterday and they're giving me some time to look at the draft so they've got it right. What an exhausting experience - I had to go to a local friend's house afterwards and sleep on her sofa for a while before I could drive home.

Prayers for all as I read through.

mufti · 02/09/2008 12:23

the park was great , really warm, 2 other mums from church came too, so both us of had someone else to play with , ended up wishing we had brought our sarnies and could have stayed longer ,
still he is tired and has gone for kip
adding thoughts and prayers for those who have dc(s) starting school. i cant imagine how i will feel, 2 years to go, but if they go anywhere near as quickly as the last 2 years, well , sob.

WM - have added thoughts on 'treats' although I also won't be sharing any baths

We have had a lovely last day before twins start school tomorrow, ironed all their names in their clothes yesterday, it all looks so cute but very excited children, so thats good, I am sure I will be ok by next week, and will have found things to fill my day ALL BY MYSELF! as long as I don't put the tv on, (fern & phil) cuppa black coffee, 3 sugars and 1 packet of bisuits [weightwatchers]

amber - my thoughts and prayers for you as you encounter this new understanding your church have found, yippee! well done you. Keep taking a deep breath

Hia Mary, thanks for the e-mail, hope I havent bored you!

CC - Hia, how are you, do you need any help? now I have ALL DAY TO MYSELF!

Sorry to keep harping on being by myself, I should think there are alot of people who would like solitude (just not me)

Icanseethesea · 02/09/2008 21:12

Can I dip in and ask for some prayer? I've been back at work a week but the new students arrive tomorrow. Please pray that it will all go smoothly as some are quite vulnerable and anxious and are going to be needing quite a bit of support. I am also feeling a bit low at the mo, things going on both at home and at work.

MaryBS · 03/09/2008 08:34

Welcome icanseethesea, praying for your needs, especially today

ZipadiSuzy · 03/09/2008 10:47

Icanseethesea - Hia, love the name, anyway, prayers for you at home and at work, I hope everybody settles quickly!

Mary - Prayers for you, as you settle back to the norm after your holidays xxx

Well the twins got to school, nobody upset, they looked sooooooooo georgous! I could have eaten them all the parents were very very brave, think we all crumbled when we got home, personally it hasn't hit me yet, seems surreal!

Moving on, I am going to have a beautiful house, although I have watched the 'wright stuff' then on puter, so not a good start to my 'by myself agenda'

Happy Sunny, autumnal Wednesdays!

ZipadiSuzy · 03/09/2008 10:59

Marslady - Prayers for your twins as they also start school

Already twiddling thumbs!

MaryBS · 03/09/2008 19:42

Prayers please. I've finally got my appointment with the Adult Asperger's clinic - 24 Sept. Am feeling mostly relief but more than a little anxious too...

sooz, how did the tiddlers get on at school? Your email didn't bore me at ALL btw... {hugs}

amber32002 · 03/09/2008 20:19

Prayers for all as I read through.

Icanseethesea, prayers for you and your students. What sort of vulnerable, dare I ask?

Mary, prayers for you and your appointment, but Hooray that they've finally made it. They're nice people over there.
