Mumsnet prayer thread for July

Since the last prayer update there have been three bereavements on this thread alone Onlyjoking's Steve, MartianBishop's husband (who had been presented with his MBE just days before his death) and Evenstar's husband who died very suddenly while away from home.
Our prayers are with them. Special prayers for OJ as she battles with difficult relations. Praying that she will be able to get everything done before she goes away on holiday to Lanzarote to scatter Steve's ashes in a place where they have been very happy.

Praying for CaptainCaveman and MyJobismum as they expect their babies. Praying that there may soon be a positive, acceptable offer on CC's house.

Health problems:- CaptainDippy with a persistent cough. Things are not easy for our Dippy at the moment, please, if you can, concentrate your prayers on her and her family for a wee while.

Podmog can be in a hard place from time to time. Things are looking up, but it's going to take time and patience.

Swaliswan will receive treatment for a longstanding problem, but no problems have been discovered after extensive blood tests.

I haven't heard how PandaG's mum is doing after her lung operation.

We also pray for Nicole, Mary's friend who was taken ill with meningitis while in Cyprus. Her life hung by a thread, but over the past few days she has held her own.
Continuing prayers for Mary's friend Marg who suffered three grievous bereavements in a very short time.

We pray for Suzy that she may be delivered from Trojan Horses. Lord what did we do before we had computers?

We pray for Amber, that she may find the right way to communicate .

We pray for Mary in her studies, giving thanks for recent successes. Also for Weegiemum and Weegiedad, who passed exams at the end of the academic year.

We pray for Notsofarnow and FAQ for wisdom in newly developing relationships.

Welcome to newbies bealcain (and her friend), justabout and PurpleLostPrincess. Hoping to hear more from Bottersnike whose dh40 posted to ask for prayers in a very sudden difficult illness, which fortunately resolved itself quickly.
We give thanks for all on the board who pray for us Notquitegrownup who 'flies by', Jentlydoesit (Podglet), Mufti, Roseylea and Astrophe

And we pray for all of us that we may be true servants of the one living God in the care we give to each other in prayer and practical help.

Thank you ooops - you beat me to it Have just had a text from CC thoguh saying she is being released today - hurrah!

Still ill here I know it is unfounded and silly, but I am getting a little worried it is something a little more serious. I've never been this ill for this long and this morning I was vomiting up bile-like stuff I'm scared.

MaryBS · 29/07/2008 17:58

Aw CCM , I don't deserve any praise because what I do is for Him, and when you think about what He has done for me, well...

I took the bull by the horns yesterday and asked for feedback on the service I led - to be told that there were only minor niggles, and so much more to be pleased with, and that I'm my own harshest critic. Some of the niggles were silly things, like announcing the first hymn and not saying which hymnbook it was in, but then getting it right for subsequent hymns. Also the way I took the collection off the sidesman (I'd not been told where to take it - at the sanctuary step, I'd taken it at the entry to the chancel), stuff like that. But yes, I'm fine, so a HUGE relief (as I'd been SO worried - well wouldn't you be if you'd been told that the vicar would leave halfway through if you were doing OK, and then he didn't leave? )

Praying for an imminent and safe birth for you CCM. And for a good and relaxing and enjoyable hols for you and yours Sooz, and of course another happy birthday to the Queen of the Prayer Thread DO (well she must be, she has 2 birthdays )

Also praying for health and wealth and happiness for you and yours CD {hugs}

CaptainDippy · 29/07/2008 19:50

Just popping in to say good evneing Feeling marginally better hoping it stays this way

amber32002 · 29/07/2008 19:58

Happy Real Birthday DO!

Prayers for everyone.

A puzzling start to the day when small dog kept walking up to me and then heading for the garden, then repeating it over and over. I followed her, and found out that dear hubby had left the hosepipe on overnight and we have a rather wet garden! Thank goodness we're not on a water meter! I'm very impressed with small dog, as we certainly hadn't taught her to fetch us for that!

Have spent many hours in traffic since then, to and from a meeting, so very glad to be home and to have a chance to unwind a bit. Son's off at his rugby training, having spent all day on the tennis courts and in a friend's swimming pool with mates. Where do these teenagers get the energy from!?

CaptainDippy · 29/07/2008 21:25

No idea amber. I think I slept through my teenage years Clever dog btw

Happy "offcil" Birthday DO! 21 again!!?

notsofarnow · 30/07/2008 10:42

Morning all. I know i haven't been round much but do think of you all often.

I'm at my mums at the minute, she has had lo's for over a week,I don't feel i've achieved anything whilst they've been away but never mind.

Lo's gone to holiday club at mums church so praying they get loads out of it.

Can I ask for your prayers - feeling a little shallow in that new boyfriend earns next to nothing so things would be very difficult if we have a future and I feel i'm letting this influence how I feel about him.

He ticks so many boxes in lots of other ways but being the practical person that I am I can't help thinking of these things. Or maybe i'm looking for problems I don't know.

Notquitegrownup · 30/07/2008 10:43

Good morning Ladies.

Copingvquietly could do with our prayers - link here

Mary, any news on Nicole? CD, how is that cough? Amber, what a star your dog is! DO, hope yesterday went as well as could be. How is your dd doing at the moment?

God bless all.

CaptainDippy · 30/07/2008 11:26
