Lily Philips - can she be a 'true' Christian?

This article made me think about what it means to be Christian especially about the concepts of sin, judgment and redemption.

In my view Lily of course is a Christian being baptised but to not give up a lucrative adult film career possibly does cause angst amongst more traditional Christians.

We are taught not to judge 'Let those without sin cast the first stone' and to accept the universal unconditionally of forgiveness. (We pray every day about the forgiveness of sin) so it is difficult thologically to condemn others.

However does any fellow Christian need to remind Lily she makes money from a profession where many women with less choice are coerced and manipulated for thr gratification of men? Wr have moved away from a less judgmental Christianity but how do you view participation in Christian life with such a job?

As a matter of interest, do you pray for the end times to come ?

If any god had been helping people through the fires, news teams would have been all over it but no - no help. The fires continue to burn out of control with food shortages now forecast.

What makes you think there will be end times other than you read it in the bible? Do you have any evidence to support this theory?

Jesus promised to send his followers the Holy Spirit Comforter in (John 14). The Holy Spirit has many roles and one of them can be protector and strenghtener. The way they work is more personal. I think it is possible they could give a prompt an instinct to leave somewhere that might set on fire. This is an potential of possible help being given. They could have given some people more strength to cope.
"He gives power to the faint and increases the strength of the weak" (Jude 1:24).
The example of Simon Thomas was a different situation but Simon's feels that it was God's prompting by the Holy Spirit that probably saved his life as a child. All decisions by the Holy Spirit is agreed by Jesus and God the Father.

So basically no help for those suffering in the fires and earthquakes across the world - ignoring them - best way to loose supporters.

They have showed through the gifts of the Holy Spirit that I need to keep on for eternal life. One of my conditions can say some harsh things at times and they sent me something that I need to focus on the end because the body as I was no it will go and I will go to Christ as a child of God.

I have had vivid dreams once about scenes of end times in the Bible when I was 17. I think it may have meant the Holy Spirit gifts I was given was from Jesus Christ ministry.

There’s a current AMA from a Seventh-Day Adventist, a church that only exists because a previous movement confidently expected Jesus to return on a particular date in October 1844, and disbanded in what is, hilariously, known as the ‘Great Disappointment’ when he failed to show. So the SDA church was invented out of that ‘Whoops!’ to say ‘OK, we just meant Jesus was coming back on earth to prepare, discreetly, for Judgement Day!’

My thinking isn't muddled and it is very clear and you appear to not understand and some will not. I am non denominational and don't work for any organisation. I have said very little and Simon Thomas was used as an example and spoke himself that God Spirit was probably there for him personally. Those were not my words.

So when you study the end times, are you studying it because you want it to happen ? For Jesus to come back ?

I have looked at it because I want to understand more about the faith. I think it will happen because it is written that it will. As I wrote before nobody knows when that will be except God the Father. I don't worry about it much but think may be sometimes if we could in the end times by the events that have taken place that is mentioned in Matthew 24.

But Jesus has to come back for you to join him in heaven right ?

Growing up as a child you hear that when you die you will go and live in heaven. i think the Bible says the dead will rest and Christ when he returns with the second coming believers will go with him. I think that there are some people who have judged as holy enough to be in heaven before this time like some Saints such as Carlos Acutis. This is before the 2nd coming of Christ. A miracle has been attributed to his name.
Personally, I could be in some wait for Christ, but who knows. Christians may have different views about this.

A rather poor example of sanctity. Many devout Catholics think the canonisation of a teenager not noted for any particular religiosity in his lifetime was ridiculous, and point to financial incentives and pious family members desperate for their child’s tragically early death to be meaningful as reasons for the unusually quick process .

Ok. So all this means is that you DONT want Jesus to come back. Because that would be the Rapture and you don't want the Rapture to happen. Right ?

I'm not willing it to come before the time that God has noted. I do want what is the Bible to take place, but it will be sad and I do not know if it will be in my lifetime.
