Definitely extra prayers for the MB family today, and for the difficult days to come.
Hope Nicola makes a full recovery.
If it's not too selfish, prayers would be appreciated for me too - it seems I am having panic attacks following a couple of very stressful months.

CaptainDippy · 02/07/2008 13:23

Of course bottersnike xx

Praying for MB family lots right now. xx

No more news on Nicole (apart from I got her name wrong ). However a service was held this evening for her in our church, hastily arranged, obviously, at which 250 people, mostly from her school, turned up to prayer for her... May such an outpouring of prayer find favour with our Lord.

Please could I request some special prayers for myself and family tomorrow as I am going to see DH's body. He is being kept for further tests, at least another week, so felt I must go as a week tomorrow since he died. Thank you

amber32002 · 03/07/2008 07:06

Prayers aplenty for you and your family, Evenstar. Words can't begin to describe how it must feel for you right now.

Reading and praying for each of you.

My local Bishop has been very supportive over what's happened to me this last week. He wants to try to raise the profile of the disability and disabilities generally, he says. Yippee!
And the local vicar now says he thinks he can muster the courage to ask some people if they would be a support to me in church from time to time. It's definitely progress, so thank you so much for your prayers everyone.

CaptainDippy · 03/07/2008 10:35

Good stuff, amber

Good to "see" you here Evenstar - like amber, I just can't even begin to find the words. You are very much in our thoughts and prayers on this thread. Praying fory ou as you go to see DH today, may God protect you andm ay it be a special oppotunity to say "goodbye". xxxx

Continuing to pray for Nicole, Mary ..... the services sounds like a real help and support for her friends and family in this desperate time.

Just letting you know, I went to the Dr and he listened to my chest and said there was no wheeze or anything so it is probably just a virus and to come back next week if I am still coughing So there you go!

OP posts:
DutchOma · 03/07/2008 17:06

If it is still going next week ask for something to deal with nasal drip. That did it for me, although i always have a bit of a cough. Not so as to bother me too much.

Praise God, I've just had a "final push" on my coursework, and have sat at the keyboard for the past 3 hours, formatting, compiling a bibliography, writing an introduction and filling in any last minute omissions.

I'm TOTALLY shattered!!!!

Next module starts on Tuesday...

CaptainDippy · 03/07/2008 22:37

Get some rest - and well done

Nicole is fighting the meningitis. She had a brain scan on Wednesday and her brain is clear (Praise God!). Her blood platelet count is very low, and the treatment which they use to boost the platelet count could cause a brain bleed. I saw her grandmother at church this morning (she has just flown home) and she is very appreciative of all the prayers and good wishes she has received. She told me a story of how they were in a restaurant in Cyprus and a priest walked in. They asked him to prayer for Nicole too, and he chatted with the family and visited Nicole. He didn't even stop in the restaurant after he spoke to them - it was like he was meant to be there. Praise God for all his blessings, and may our pleas be heard and answered.

Notquitegrownup · 04/07/2008 12:47

Sooo good to hear positive news of Nicole, Mary. and continued prayers for her.

Special prayers for you Evenstar and you too Bottersnike. CC is our resident expert on panic attacks, though I suffered for a while too with them. Horrid aren't they?

A flying by wave to everyone

God bless

Praise God that Nicole is fighting. Prayers for all her family and great thanksgiving for the priest who was sent by God no doubt as an angel of his mercy. Whatever the outcome:- God is good - all the time.

MaryBS · 04/07/2008 16:51

I agree DO, our God is good, whatever happens. But you know me, I believe in being honest in what I'm asking of God, and I'm asking him to heal her. If he doesn't, then his will is paramount, of course.

I bought a book by Michael W Smith, who is inspirational, and this is one of his songs, it is REALLY catchy!

Awesome God

DutchOma · 04/07/2008 18:46

Yes, so am I, but I need to assert God's mercy and autonomy in equal measure and go on praising Him even through gritted teeth:- I WILL praise the Lord

JentlyDoesIt · 04/07/2008 19:56

Good evening lovlies,

Continued prayers for Nicole...

Please could I have some prayers for my lovely DS? The poor little boy has been miserable for a couple of days, with a temp and being a bit "limp". He has also been off his food which has made me think that his last 4 teeth are on their way. Then today I caught him heading up the stairs, walking and holding the banister rather than crawling as usual. I was so surprised that I spoke loudly "WHAT are you doing?" which made him jump and fall he fell about 5 steps, straight onto his face and has badly bruised his nose and lips and scraped his knee. I was so worried because he didn't cry to begin with his nose bled a little and I have kept him dosed up with Calpol today but it was so scary.

Hope everyone has lovely sunny weekends.
