I went in being completely open minded. I don't need to think I believe it or not. I'm glad I went and it was a great show.

She was fantastic. 2hrs live show. No breaks.

Would love to know of others experiences.

The cynic in me, says she should could get all from Facebook .... linked in etc .. it's all there to see.

The non cynic, she new exact names, exact circumstances etc

Would love to know others thoughts.

I recently had a read

I recently had a reading and I recorded it. I was really skeptical of this one, not sure why I even booked with her.

Anyway after the reading I listened back and the fishing she did was so obvious, it was ridiculous! She told me nothing and confirmed what she thought lwanted to hear.

I can see now that she did the old sleight of hand with the info, distracting me during the reading so I wouldn't pick up on her fishing. Listening back with no distractions was like listening to a total different 'reading'.

I do believe there are psychics, but finding one that's not a charlatan is the difficult thing.

I do believe in the possibility that ghosts exist but I think mediumship is a sham.

I’ve seen Derren Brown live and read a couple of his books, he does a great job explaining how mediums manage to con their audiences and how they manage to do both hot and cold readings.

I also listened to the ‘Fake psychic’ podcast on BBC sounds which is the true story of Lemar Keene, who was known as ‘The Prince of Spiritualists.’ He openly admitted to duping the public and revealed how far mediums go to obtain information to use.

He even confessed to stealing things from his clients. He would then return the item and convince the client that their loved one had brought it to him when he was in a clairvoyant trance. He speaks about some really deplorable methods.

@Pumperthepumper I wasn't from the area. It's ok, I have nothing to prove. I know what I know. Everything she said to me wasn't possible to have guessed. She was absolutely spot on with it all. The information just isn't out there in the public domain.

@Happyinheels I have had a similar experience and just like you, I know what I know (and what the medium knew, no way could have ever been guessed with all the hints and "research" in the world).
You are right, you've got nothing to prove. People like @Pumperthepumper will never accept that there's more to what they know and perceive on the physical plane. And that's absolutely fine 🙂

How does Derren Brown explain how he can find out so much about people to the point where he seems psychic?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/02/2023 20:34

DH and I saw Clinton Baptise on a cruise , I don;t think he's a bona fide Medium to be fair .

Scientist here- the best scientists have an open mind.
I have seen many unexplainable things.
We don't know everything about our universe and it is an arrogant and closed minded scientist that presumes they do.
Not having an explanation for something is a reasonable stance.

Pandor · 25/02/2023 09:09

It’s fine to not have an explanation.

But applying Occam’s Razor (knowing the multiple ways deception can give the appearance of psychic ability), it is a stretch to entertain the idea that there are genuine psychics with amazing powers that would utterly change our understanding of how the universe works, but who seem only capable of demonstrating them on the theatre circuit and in front rooms for payment.

it also seems odd that people who are so open minded never want to accept that their own recollection of a performance might be any other than completely accurate an unbiased - ignoring literally everything we know about human perception and memory!

Some people just really, really want to believe it is true, and so they will.
