Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

Thank you all for the lovely welcome. I'm still reading through all the threads in spare moments and this feels like a very warm, encouraging group.

The full moon also gives me sleeplessness and headaches but these are easing.

Wishing you all a wonderful rest of the day. Now I'm home with a good strong cuppa I can return to those threads Brew

speakout · 18/04/2022 18:03

GenExer glad to hear you are settling in. Take your time, lots of juicy morsels in past threads.
I know many of us feel quite discombobulated during a full moon, bad sleep and dreams, feeling a little out of sorts.
We strive to keep this corner of the internet supportive and welcoming of all paths, a warm pool when things are hard.
Glad you have joined us, and look forward to getting to know you.

Genexer I suffer from 'moon head' (as I call it!) too. I also feel incredibly dehydrated every full moon. Drinking lots of filtered water helps and spending as much time in nature as possible. I often feel a bit wired so need to channel some of the excess energy into exercise. I know a lot of people like to have full moon baths with salts on a full moon, but I find this dehydrates me even more.

I always like the first few days after a full moon, when the intensity of the energy begins to wane. It's a relief to sleep peacefully after the strange dreams and restlessness I experience during the full moon!

queenrollo · 20/04/2022 16:01

Oh dear this new format is quite hideous!! Anyone else struggling with it? The background is so bright that it's affecting my vision and I can feel a migraine coming on!

speakout · 21/04/2022 06:58

There does seem to be a few glitches, queenrollo, quoting other posters seems easier, and we have easier access to bold and underline functions.
I am unable to send pms though, a scree with an error message pops up.
I have had a quiet week so far, work is an easy pace which I am enjoying. A combination of kids off school and good weather means people spend less time buying online! I am working on a new project which is fun, I am finding new suppliers and testing out combinations of ingredients, working on labels ( my lovely niece's department) and packaging. I love new challenges and stirring things up a bit.
The moon in Capricorn today is good for business plans or any project that needs structure, order and responsibility. So also a good day for planning a picnic or reorganising a room.
Wild leeks are abundant on the river slopes here at the moment, very tasty in stir fries and casseroles, I need to forage a few other items too today, so a forest walk is on the cards.
Have a magical day sisters.

Hi, I would love to join you all. I would describe myself as a mix of Wiccan/pagan/witch etc. As a family we follow the Pagan wheel of the year, DH and I had a hand fasting instead of a wedding and DC had naming ceremonies instead of a christening. I use crystal, incense, essential oils, kitchen magic etc and try to include the magic in everything. Currently trying to raise my 2 little ones to love and respect the Earth Mother.

speakout · 21/04/2022 08:28

Glad you have joined us RiverRats, welcome, always room in our magical kitchen. I enjoyed reading about your magical family and life.
We are a mixed bunch, and following pagan paths, diverse interests, but united in sisterhood and support.
I look forward to getting to know you.

Hello all plus newcomers! And a happy belated Solar Return to @speakout !
Whew, what a few weeks it's been, I'm glad I've managed to carve out some time to catch up with this thread. I'm also glad it's Taurus season. These last few weeks of Aries has had me all of a kerfuffle, and it's nice to be a tad lazier!
I'm still really enjoying the very basics of Witchcraft, I don't think there is anything more powerful than a burning candle loaded with intention. Whilst I do enjoy something more ceremonial from time to time, breaking it down into the simplest form sometimes packs more of a punch!
Have a wonderful day everyone!

speakout · 21/04/2022 10:27

I love the basics too AnotherCrazyBirdLady
A few magical words stirred into some tea, some moon water in the laundry, incantations in the wind.
Small acts of magic means enchantment is always within easy reach, always there to support and ground us.
The ritual of yoga is a magical practice for me, I connect to the earth, claim my space, fill my spirit.
Mundane magic is powerful stuff!

I'm flying back in under a involuntary name change. I deleted and reinstalled the app as a way of trying to deal with the updates and mn no longer recognises my user name or password 🙈 I used to be Toto.

VioletCharlotte · 23/04/2022 11:15

Flying in to say a quick hello. I'm having a coffee in Starbucks after a trip to the gym. I'm enjoying people watching and overheating snippets of conversations. I'm always intrigued by other people and find myself wondering what their lives are like, where they work, etc. That makes me sound very odd, doesn't it?!

Riverrats lovely to meet you. Teaching children to respect our planet is so important isn't it? I can still remember clearly when I was at primary school being taught not to drop litter and the impact it can have on wildlife. I don't remember my own DC doing anything like that (although I drummed it in to the at home) I think there's much more emphasis on the environment in education nowadays, but it seemed to skip a generation which is a shame. There's always so much litter around where I live, some people just don't seem to care.

speakout · 24/04/2022 06:30

VioletCharlotte people watching is fun for me too, I do make sure I am subtle but I like to watch and sharpen my skills- other people's lives and motivations are fascinating. The older I get the easier it becomes to understand others.
It has been a fraught weekend here, I have missed two yoga classes because I was needed at home, so determined to attend my class this morning at 9am.
It is blissfully quiet here, only birdsong, off for a hot shower to start my day.

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 24/04/2022 08:11

Speakout yes, I've missed two classes this week as well. One because of the bank holiday and the other because of a commitment with DS1. I really notice the difference if I miss practice, it's surprising the difference it makes to sleep, energy levels and my general mood. I hope you enjoy this morning's class.

I'm having a cup of coffee in bed and looking at the blossom trees opposite my house. They've created the most beautiful canopy of white, almost like a snow storm.

I'm off out with some friends today for a mooch around a nearby town. Lots of vintage and charity shops to explore so I'm looking forward to having a good root around!

queenrollo · 24/04/2022 10:26

I love people watching too. When I had my shop that was the perfect opportunity to do it.
My absolute favourite space to people watch though is the Tiny Tea Tent at Glastonbury. It's perfectly placed to either watch people walking by or to gently observe the interactions of those coming in. It's definitely a place where strangers talk to each other with ease, but also a meeting space for friends who are often far and wide geographically. It's a bit like that airport scene in Love Actually sometimes, with emotional greetings.

I'm having a bit of a tough time mentally and emotionally at the moment. Old wounds are sore because of recent events.
I was let down by someone just before the weekend, and though I completely understand the position they found themselves in they could actually have let me know they could no longer keep plans.
I guess there is some shadow work here for me.

speakout · 24/04/2022 16:25

VioletCharlotte I hope you had a good mooch around the shops and a fun afternoon. Visiting a vintage or charity shop is one of my absolute favourite ways to spend an hour or two. I did enjoy yoga this morning, it soothes the soul.
queenrollo I am sorry things have been tought for you of late, things are bumpy here right now, but that is normal here unfortunately.
Some days I deal with it better than others- that's all I can do. We don't always have a resolution to problems, always worth remembering that life is complicated, rarely all bad or all good, and we are allowed to feel happy and sad at the same time.
Enjoy the moments of joy and savour the good things.

Ah thanks for the lovely welcome everyone🥰. Sorry I haven’t popped in earlier the new MN design has been glitching on me.
@speakout it seems like a lovely group I’ve been searching for one like this for a while. I look forward to getting to know you too❤️. I’m glad you managed to get to your Yoga class this week, I’m too scared to do it at a class so I just do it at home but I have been putting it off recently I must start again because it makes me feel great.
@AnotherCrazyBirdLady I agree that the simplest forms of magic can be the best. I’ve got in the habit of stirring my morning tea clockwise when I want to welcome some good into my life and counter clockwise when I want to banish something. It’s a great way to start the day✨
@VioletCharlotte I love to people watch too. Respecting our planet is so important to me as a parent, it underpins how I parent in many ways and I think that respecting our Earth teaches children to respect themselves and others too. I didn’t learn much about the environment in Primary School, I do remember watching a cartoon in assembly of the Earth crying and slowly dying, that has always stuck with me. They didn’t teach us how to help though, just scared us😳. Our lifestyle means we live very close to nature and the little is astounding! We try to do little picking once a week as a big activity but generally pick us as much as we can everyday. There’s so many bins nearby I don’t understand why people can’t just wait to get to a bin!. I hope you enjoyed your day of shopping.
@queenrollo I adore Glastonbury! It’s actually where DH and I met, married and had our DC’s naming ceremony. It’s such a magical place. I’m sorry to hear that you’re struggling❤️. Good luck with the Shadow work, I’ve been doing a lot recently and it helps me understand myself so much.
We are currently prepping for Beltane, so DD has made some things for our Altar. Our Goddess of today is Lada so we have honoured her by placing a bunny’s tail seed on top of an ice cube until it melted and then planting it to symbolise her sweeping away winter sickness and bringing in the new life of Spring. I’ve included a link to an article about her in case anyone is interested journeyingtothegoddess.wordpress.com/2012/04/25/goddess-lada/amp/

queenrollo · 25/04/2022 18:03

@RiverRats oh how wonderful to have a wedding at Glastonbury! We attended a friends ceremony there, it was a really wonderful experience.
This year will be the first one I have missed since 2004 and for my DH from the late 80s/early90s. We missed out on tickets and we also aren't sure now they have got rid of the van camping on the West as we don't think our son will cope with that hill on the East.

I have had the most wonderful day. We saw a Dragon! It's an installation at a heritage site in the county, but my inner child was determined it was real and very magical.
Some much needed one to one time with youngest DS, then a family lunch and he is back to school tomorrow so this is a perfect end to the holidays for us. Now I need to bring the focus back to me and some indulgent self-care.

hilariousnamehere · 26/04/2022 01:08

Witches, I've missed you all! Fell off the thread while away in March, haven't had five minutes to myself for about six weeks and am slowly coming back to a routine. Came back and I've been away so long, MN has had an update Blush

Currently prepping to talk about sewage in rivers on the radio tomorrow morning (have been out protesting in a tail and with other wild swimmers) and then I want to go and catch up on all the posts and see what you're all up to.

Hope your week has started magically ✨

GenExer · 26/04/2022 13:26

Hello all,

I'm just popping in before the next shift - I'm lucky to be self employed and I work outside, it's so beautiful (although winters are hard with the relentless mud!).

I tried reading the previous threads whenever I had time but then had issues with MN and couldn't see any of the threads I was on. Luckily read here that others were experiencing the same due to the updates so was able to sort that out.

I managed some witchcraft 'work' over the Easter weekend but I'm a little rusty so I will probably need to repeat it.

Thinking of you all and thankful for this space. Apologies I'm flitting back out again but hope to reply properly with tags to other members soon.

I tried to add a photo of where I was this morning but my post refused to upload. It's of a woodland, which has such a beautiful feeling to it and I hope to be able to spend time there connecting with the genius loci, when I'm not working!

speakout · 27/04/2022 06:56

RiverRats It is lovely to hear of your family and life, and thanks for the ink too- some interesting reading when I have my afternoon tea! I agree about respecting the earth/others and ourselves. Messages about the problems of the planet can be very scary for children. I remember watching a film clip when I was 5 years old. I cried myself to sleep for many nights, worrying about over population and running out of fossil fuels. I remember feeling so helpless. having children active at a local level is a good way for them to understand problems in a way that makes sense to them. Activities like litter picking or planting also allows them a way to help and be active in solutions, very empowering.
queenrollo Spunds like a perfect end to the spring break, I love the sound of your dragon, glad you are taking time for self care. It always eludes me when things get tough, I need reminders constantly! It's been a tough few days here, but I fell asleep at 8pm last night and have had 10 hours sleep. When we are well rested and topped up on sleep everything is much more manageable.
hilariousnamehere I saw a photograph of protesters on the BBC news website- was that you? I am so glad you are back here. How did the radio interview go? I would love to listen if you have a link.
GenExer Good to hear you are sharpening your skills, and love your connection to your genius loci. I work with her too, in her many forms, she can be gentle and vulnerable, but also fierce and angry when she needs to protect.
I am hoping for a calm day here, it is grey, cold and overcast, which gives me a perfect excuse for candles, a simmer pot and some soothing music. My magical practice comes in bite size chunks most days. I have the odd bigger piece of work if some area needs attention, but usually that happens only a few times a year. I prefer a magical cuppa to a skyclad ceremony nowadays!

hilariousnamehere · 29/04/2022 01:01

speakout yes, that's me Grin I'm the one with my tail in the air! Interview was mainly the protest leader and the water company rep, but it's here if you'd like to listen - starts around 3h8mins: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0bzhq6w I hope so much we make some difference, water is my element but clean water is such a fundamental part of life.

I'm glad to be back too, have missed my favourite magical corner of the internet, although still haven't had time to catch up properly :( Tomorrow is a carpet cleaning day which is possibly the most mundane job possible, but I'm hoping that the tidying and cleaning will give me more headspace for my work, witchery and life - everything is so chaotic at the moment I'm struggling to think straight!

Hope your weeks are passing peacefully - here's a fluffy bee stuffing his face which I took on a much needed quick screen break yesterday!

Any Witches Here? Part 16
AnotherCrazyBirdLady · 29/04/2022 12:39

Good afternoon all, I hope the sun is shining wherever you all may be. I'm sorry to hear some of us are struggling at this time, it seems to be widespread everywhere I go. Later I shall be burning some rose fragrance and sipping some rose Yogi tea during Venus' planetary hour, and shall be sending love and a comforting virtual hug to all those that need it.

Spring is going at it full pelt here - I've heard baby blue tits in the trees, have been feeding a gentle Crow who tenderly tears up the pieces for his chicks, and DS has told me he's seen a baby blackbird in the front garden. I am spending an absolute fortune feeding them all, but I consider it an important part of my life, almost a duty to share what I have with them - they bring such pleasure!

Off now to potter (one of my favourite things!) and finish reading a book I've had on the go for a few days, which is pretty much a luxury these days!

Beltane blessings to you all. It is cold and drizzly here but I have decorated the wreath with ribbons. May add some flowers from the garden later, although they are a little soggy.
