Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

Woolyminded

I am sorry to hear that- it must be unsettling to have this problem arise again after such a long time.
There are remedies and magical support for problems like this, but I would urge you to seek medical help as a first stop- especially if this has happened suddenly. I am sure it can be resolved, but I would be hesitant to recommend any alternative support until you have seen your HCP. I know many of my sisters here will give you the same advice.
By all means there will be a lot of magical support, but please call your GP as a first step. XX Lots of chamomile tea until you can get an appointment!

Thank you speakout. I will get an appointment ASAP. I have almost a phobia of hospitals, doctors surgeries, etc but for things like this that are beyond home remedies I'm good at forcing myself to go. I appreciate your words, its always good to get a shove in the right direction.

speakout · 11/11/2021 07:57

Woolyminded
I am sure things can be resolved. Keep posting- we are here to support you , and happy to provide magical ideas once you are on a healing path.X

Flying visit, think we're all in a bit of a tizz today, Woolyminded , I've a friend with serious issues, please do see a professional, do enquire about Pilates exercises and specialised TENS for that, please don't be talked into an op with mesh as a first option before doing a shedload of research.

AnotherCrazyBirdLady · 11/11/2021 10:19

Good morning all.
@Woolyminded, I echo what pp have said - medical attention is an important first port of call, along with as much self-care as you can manage.

The skies have been awfully volatile of late, it feels as if there is a period of purging in the air. Not pleasant, but necessary.
On top of my usual health worries, I have somehow managed to anger both of my shouldersHmm so I am focussing my yoga practice on releasing the pain. I have often read about how our bodies reflect the imbalances in our lives, and this really rings true for me, I do feel as if I have a burden on my shoulders, so alongside the yoga, I am working on my feelings about this.
I hope the path forward straightens out for everybody, and eases their journey x

hilariousnamehere · 11/11/2021 11:39

Elasticated waist I meant to say that I have everything crossed for your house - it seems like it was meant to be. I hope it goes smoothly from here. And I think you're spot on and there's something else going on with her - I couldn't call yesterday but will arrange a phone call or facetime in next few days if she's not too busy and see if I can get to the bottom of it. She is to all intents and purposes my sister and it really threw me! Thank you for a different perspective.

Woolyminded I'd echo speakout - medical advice first, and keep posting and we will be here with whatever we can. I have no experiences with prolapse but am wishing you well and sending you strength for calling your GP - we're here behind you to help you go despite the fear.

speakout your words are wise as always and you've nailed exactly how I'm feeling - I too love how my work and life are intertwined, and I'm very happy with the variety of several business, but need downtime and time away and feel guilty taking it, or like that time is wasted. I am copying your words into my journal this morning to remind me it's ok to take a break even from the things you love!

Bit headachey today but my 11.30 is running late so I have a few precious minutes with a cuppa in the garden - it's cold but refreshing out here and I'm already planning next spring's maintenance and planting Grin

Woolyminded · 11/11/2021 18:56

Thank you everyone for your advice and support, its much appreciated and I've mentally kicked myself up the arse and got an appointment sorted. I've had a long bath with some new oils id ordered which were waiting for me when I got in from work. I feel incredibly chilled now. Is it too early to go to bed?!
@AnotherCrazyBirdLady I hope the shoulder pain is easing, as well as your mental burden.

hilariousnamehere · 11/11/2021 21:53

Wooly it's never too early to go to bed Grin I'm a hardened night owl with 3-4am bedtimes usually and I've been known to sneak off to bed with a book at 6.30pm occasionally! Really pleased you've booked an appointment too.

TotoAnnihiliation · 12/11/2021 06:56

@Woolyminded I agree with the the others - medicine first. Then try some yoga that helps with strengthening your core. The joys of womanhood 🙄

VioletCharlotte · 12/11/2021 07:33

Good morning, very dark, wet and windy her today. I should really be getting up but decided to allow myself an extra 15 minutes in bed! This week has flown by, how is it Friday already?! Like others, I've sensed some funny energy around this week, I feel like I've been caught up in a maelstrom, so I'm hoping today will be calmer.

Woolyminded I'm so glad you've made an appointment to get checked out. Our sisters have already given you some good advice, which I would echo. Have you spoken to your GP about pelvic physiotherapy in the past? This could be an option worth exploring and available through the NHS. My view is that natural therapies can play a really important role in working alongside traditional medicine. Having some Reiki treatment may help you to relax and a good practitioner should help unblock the route of the fears you have about hospitals, etc.

AnotherCrazyBirdLady totally agree that physical pain can be the result of emotional blockages and pain we're holding on to. My yoga teacher talks about this a lot too. If you've not done so already, it's worth exploring the meridian system - the energy channels that run through our bodies - to understand this a little better. I know a tiny amount after doing a workshop a couple of years ago, it's fascinating and makes a lot of sense.

Time to get ready for another day I guess. My intention for today is to find balance.

speakout · 12/11/2021 09:34

VioletCharlotte I will share your intention for balance today if that is OK?
A lovely sunrise yoga session this morning, such a good way to start the day.
I have popped into ALDI on the way back but became so distracted that I forgot half of what I went in for!!
I agree about complemantary medicine, there are so many amazing treatments and techniques. But as a complement not an alternative for serious health issues.

Off to unpack shopping and start work.

Have a magical day everyone.

AnotherCrazyBirdLady · 12/11/2021 10:41

Oooh, a very windy morning here, perfect for the laundry to dance on the line!
@VioletCharlotte, thank you for reminding me re the meridian system! It's something I've looked at briefly, but butterflied off to the next subject that captivated me. Now I've got some time, I will explore this in more detail. I've tried acupuncture and chinese herbs, but had to abandon the herbs as they really were not pleasant at all!
I'm wondering if the upcoming eclipse has got people all a-fluster? It seems to be a powerful one that will influence us all for the next 2-ish years.
Well, I shall pour myself a chamomile tea and ponder my chores! Blessings x

Verbena87 · 13/11/2021 00:41

Just popping in but stuff is busy and like many others my head is cloudy.

However, wanted to say to @Woolyminded that I’ve got a fairly bad prolapse and definitely recommend the magical/medical support of a well fitted ring pessary in conjunction with physio.

I can go on about it at length so won’t bore you, but pm me if you like. Would echo whoever said to avoid surgery using mesh. I’m slightly convinced the surgery just doesn’t work very well yet (I think it’s designed to make vaginas look more penis-sheath shaped rather than actually constituting a repair that you can safely run hard and lift heavy without compromising. Asked my lovely urogynae if that suspicion was true and he laughed and said “I’m not prepared to tell you you’re completely wrong. If you do decide to pursue surgery make sure whoever does it is aware of your success criteria”) - selfishly I’m hoping by the time mine gets post-menopausal and perhaps less amenable to conservative management things will have come on a bit!

Pilates was great for me but you need an instructor who knows about pelvic floor dysfunction.

speakout · 13/11/2021 07:17

Good morning friends.
Why does the first coffee of the day taste so good?
Just wakening up having my usual lengthy morning routine and rituals preparing for the day ahead.
A dry day is forecast, so hopefully some laundry too.
It has been a week of challenges and difficult energy, but I have managed to hold tight to the mast while wild winds blow.
Things are always easier when we are feeling centred.
Off to body pump this morning- not feeling it right now, an effort to think about and get there- but I know I will be glad I pushed myself afterwards- those good feelings and mental clear out from exercise will last all day.

Enjoy your Saturday everyone!

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 13/11/2021 08:29

Speakout I'm smiling at the synergy in our mornings. I've also just enjoyed my morning coffee, put on some laundry and about to head off to body pump! The first coffee of the day is the best isn't it?! Sorry you've had a challenging week, pump is a good stress buster, so hopefully it'll help.

Blessings to you all for a peaceful Saturday.

HillsBesideTheSea · 13/11/2021 08:58

Not sure Speakout

But i am pretty certain that my coffee feels so good this morning because i was up waaaaay to late and the alarm this morning hurt.

BlankTimes · 13/11/2021 10:41

Morning everyone, so many of you are so active, I'm having a lazy start to my day with a large mug of Pukka Cleanse before I remember where I left my get-up-and-go as it appears to have got-up-and-gone.

AnotherCrazyBirdLady I give another vote for learning about the meridian system, it's worthwhile to study and has a lot of relevance today.

Verbena and Wooly the mesh situation isn't that it's not effective, it's because so many women have been seriously injured worldwide.
I have a friend who has been extremely severely adversely affected by mesh, otherwise I doubt I'd have heard about it.

I'll post these links here for general information, but agree it's not necessarily a subject to be explored in-depth here, there are many specialist groups online.

Women in Scotland have been treated differently, I'm not aware of the full situation so would suggest independent searches to verify the facts.

Verbena87 · 13/11/2021 18:44

@BlankTimes yes, mesh is a serious risk to health and well-being. But I do maintain that current ‘repairs’ aren’t what I’d consider a repair yet either - the advice when I asked about it (2018) was to avoid heavy lifting or high impact exercise afterwards for the rest of your life - sod that. When I repair my clothes, it means I can continue to use them, not that they look shop-fresh again.

Sorry for ranting. It really does my head in. Have some gorgeous bracket fungus from today’s wander as a counterpoint!

speakout · 13/11/2021 20:12

Such an eye opener about the mesh implants- I had heard of the problems, but to hear these stories is heartbreaking.
Surgery with misguided motivation is no help to a woman at all.
I hope all those with pain and problems find resolution soon. X
I am windinng down tonight with chamomile and vanilla tea, just a few little work tasks after a productive day.

I seem to keep meeting the goddess in human form these days- always lifts my heart.
Parking was tight in my local small town today, and one driver had straddled two spaces making parking tight for me and another woman to squeeze in. We both tried initially, she smiled, wound down her window and said " We can do this- we are women after all- we have an advantage!"and we both maneouvered, waited for each other to get out the door- she said she would only be 5 minutes etc- such a blessed exchange.
We both arrived back after a short time, and felt like friends already!
I have seen situations like that end in tension, swearing, negative energy, but we managed a little challenge with such positivity and respect.
It may seem a trivial thing, but I was smiling for ages, felt like a goddess encounter!

Morning sisters.

Oh what a week for me! I went to London this week to see a wonderful musician perform. It's been a long time coming, after everything that happened the last 18 months. But SO SO wonderful.
Getting there was stressful, but in hindsight my first outing into the big world after all the isolation etc being so challenging was also very empowering. I DID IT.
Then the night after (though very tired from bad hotel etc) I went to a friend's exhibition opening and it was so wonderful to catch up with her - and others - that I have literally not seen since the early months of 2020!
A quiet day yesterday but this morning we are going to a very special remembrance service. My youngest DS Cub unit have been given permission to have their service at a site in the village. A Lancaster came down here, and the landowner has a private memorial. It can only be accessed with permission, and we respect this so we have never been.

The sun is shining, an absolutely glorious Autumn Day. I used to be in the Red Cross as a child/young teen and marched many a freezing cold and sideways rain Remembrance Parade!
It's still fresh out there though so I will resurrect my Grandma's post service ritual and make hot chocolate when we all return home.

(I see talk of prolapse. I treated myself to the MUTU exercise programme for pelvic floor and core. It was not cheap but for me it has worked well. There are adjustments for those with prolapse and it's designed to fix your whole system - not just a set of poorly advised kegels, which is what my practice nurse told me to do)

speakout · 14/11/2021 08:50

queenrollo

Your concert sounds wonderful, I can;t remember the last time I heard live music. Well donefor braving it to the city!
I will be marking today by taking some wild flowers to the house of Beattrix Leslie to mark the passing of her and many women like her.
They have no monument, no remembrance, no honour- but I don't want them to be forgotten.

OP posts:
Woolyminded · 14/11/2021 09:33

Very helpful advice @Verbena87, much appreciated. I like the pessary idea, id rather go down the conservative management route than anything as brutal as surgery. Totally agree about the running and lifting thing, I've got no intention of living like that! I'm more keen on living an active life than being able to accommodate a penis! I'm feeling a lot more settled and optimistic about the situation now I think.
@queenrollo what a wonderful week. Getting out and about and seeing friends/performances feels so much more special now x

Woolyminded · 14/11/2021 09:39

Oooh @speakout I've just been reading about Beattrix. What a nice way to honour her.

VioletCharlotte · 14/11/2021 11:50

Lovely energy on the thread this morning. I'm having a good morning too. I went to the gym and bumped into two old friends who I've not seen for a long time, also caught up with two other ladies I'd met previously. Talking to other women can be so uplifting. Feeling that goddess interaction energy you mentioned Speakout.

Afterwards I popped into town to buy my favourite lip balm from the Body Shop and got it for free as the assistant told me I had a £5 voucher on my loyalty card, then I got my coffee fee of charge too as I had filled my Cafe Nero stamp card. Little things, but made me smile.

Queenrollo your evening sound wonderful. You can't beat live music and spending time with friends. It's so good to be able to get back out into the world.

Speakout lovely way to mark Beatrix's memory. Thank you for doing this for our sister.

Blanktimes I agree with everything you've said about the mesh. One of my friends was damaged by it too. The lack of investment into women's health makes me furious.

speakout · 14/11/2021 19:49

VioletCharlotte

I am glad you have felt the goddess at work too, and lovely to hear of your freebies.
I couldn't make my yoga class this morning, I found out early my credit card was blocked and had to speak to the fraud team. Seems there was an attempt to use my card, but the credit card company had recognised and prevented the transaction.

I spoke to a woman at customer services fraud department at MBNA - working from home, up early, has a cold and a 2 year old child in the background. She had the authority to investigate, track attemped transactions, protect my account, put toast in the toaster for her toddler, and lift the blockage. I am in awe!!
