A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

I am sorry to hear that queenrollo. It's so hard to lose anyone but worse still when it's not expected. Flowers

Just clocked up most of my 10K steps playing ball with the dog. I can't face more mud at the moment so he'll be walking around the village for a few days. That new housing estate has its uses!

I have a lot of things I should be doing but can't work up much motivation. I do need to make some more bread - yesterdays turned out as solid as a brick despite the bashing of a kneading it got! I doubt even the birds will eat it Grin

VioletCharlotte · 17/01/2021 20:42

Queenrollo so sorry for your loss. It must have been a really shock. Take it easy and be kind to yourself Thanks

Lalavande thank you do the link to that site, looks really interesting. I'll going to have a proper read this evening. I love learning about the goddesses

Aerwyna thank you for sharing that post. Very interesting and I've been pondering on it, particularly the bit about when you're facing an impossible situation, you should wait and trust. I think instinctively, when we're in this kind of situation, we naturally push and try to force a resolution. Then we get increasingly frustrated when things don't work out or we get knocked back. I think I may need to print this out and stick it to the fridge!

Speakout glad you enjoyed a restorative sleep. I slept well too - I always seem to sleep so much better around the the of the new moon.

We've enjoyed blue sky and some long overdue sunshine here today. It's amazing what a difference it makes, everyone looked so much happier on today's walk (despite the mud!)

sweetkitty · 17/01/2021 23:21

@queenrollo so sorry to hear of your loss, it’s especially difficult for those left behind just now with all the restrictions in place regarding visiting loved ones/funerals/sorting things out. Flowers

Managed a family walk today and did some yoga with Adrienne first for a week Blush it was mostly breathing exercises too

speakout · 18/01/2021 07:04

queenrollo I am sorry to hear of your losses. Be gentle with yourself at this difficult time.
I am sending support wit my 8am candle. X

Lalavande · 18/01/2021 17:15

queenrollo that sounds so difficult and sad. I am sorry.

VioletteCharlotte the goddess in this month's recording is Arianrhod. It's well worth a listen if you haven't already done so.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 18/01/2021 23:23

queenrollo. So sorry to hear what you are going through. Sending you love and support.

Delphinium20 · 19/01/2021 05:20

@queenrollo I am so very sorry for your loss. I will light a candle and think on you this evening...sending warm and healing light.

PandemicPalava · 19/01/2021 05:34

So sorry for your loss @queenrollo

I will light a candle for you xx

speakout · 19/01/2021 07:12

Good morning wise friends.
A blustery wet day here, I wear so many layers these days I have forgotten what I look like underneath!
Just about to set my intention for my day with sun salutations, to welcome the new dawn.
This new mooon and planetary aspects are continuing to make a clean sweep.
Wishing everyone a magical day.

@queenrollo I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. I can’t imagine how difficult that is to deal with in the current circumstances. It just feels so unnatural fo be separated at a time of grief. I’m thinking of you.

Hi all - I’ve been quiet, but reading. Like many of you, I’ve struggled this lockdown and haven’t had much to add.

But the thought of spring, my favourite season, just around the corner is uplifting. I’m also finding busying myself with little projects an excellent distractions. Thank you to whoever mentioned the fresh skin essential oils, they are amazing!

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 19/01/2021 08:18

Need all your good vibes today please. I have a final stage interview for my dream job. I want it so badly. I'd be devastated if I didn't.

I have been using candle therapy and lucky charms today (I am part Irish and we have 'lucky charm' superstitions in our family!). I have also used Tarot again which appears positive.

But the more positive thoughts you can send me the better!

speakout · 19/01/2021 08:36

moregarlic I am glad you like the Freshskin oils Thoughts of lighter days are inspiring me right now too, I live Imbolc, and usually decorate and brighten my home for the Sabbat Any excuse for a decorated tree, and Imbolc is no exception!
satisfied I hope your interview goes well today, sending positive energy your way

Sending much love to you queenrollo, so sorry to hear of your losses Flowers

Positivity coming your way satisfied, believe you can, you’ve got this far for a reason. Best of luck

speakout

This new mooon and planetary aspects are continuing to make a clean sweep.

Your words are so encouraging, thank you. The perfect energy for now. Like you and moregarlic I’m inspired by the promise of spring, looking forward to Imbolc. Loved hearing about the snowdrops that people have seen out on their walks

Lalavande thank you for sharing the goddess recordings, I’m looking forward to listening

Crafty thank you for the psychic hug you sent the other day which was gratefully received, wonderful welcome warmth!

sweetkitty it’s good to hear about your walk and yoga, I know times have been tough of late and it’s really good to hear you taking such much needed time for nurture

Violet so glad the quote spoke to you, I agree about the tendency to push for solutions and the frustration it can bring. Easier said than done to just be with it and tend to our roots but worth it when we can manage it I think.

Elphame I’m enjoying the Black Toad. Feeling a resonance with some of the traditions/practices. I was also wondering if there writers who focus on the traditions of other regions in a similar way, something to explore when I’ve finished my current reading pile!

It’s wet and windy here today, the river is full of vital energy and a visit to breathe her in feels very cleansing

Working to clear the decks, shift a situation that no longer serves me and make space for the new, the thought of imbolc round the corner is encouraging. Like many of us I’m sustained by small practices throughout the day, weaving it in as I go. I think small steps should be very much celebrated right now!

Love to all for a magical day

speakout · 19/01/2021 11:45

Aerwyna

Yes to small steps being celebrated!
When we start to find joy in the tiniest things then our day is stuffed to the brim with opportunities to open our hearts

I am thinking about Imbolc, so many uplifting youtube videos discussing the sabbat, ways to celebrate
Around this time I like to bring in an armful of dormant branches that have lots of bud. I put them in a vase in my kitchen and within a week or so the warmth of indoors encourages the buds to open and bring forth new vibrant growth Just in time for Imbolc, and in time to decorate, with ribbons and dried herbs

Last year I used hazel branches, forsythia or pussy willow work well too, and every time I have done this the branches have also shot down roots into the water, giving me several new plants for my garden.
I like tiny little displays, like a small container of snowdrops, but I also like big bolshy displays!

I love that idea speakout, perfect for heralding the first glimpses of spring. Beautiful.

I’ve started my layered ice work, it feels good to gradually build up different energies for future manifestation, small steps again!

queenrollo · 19/01/2021 14:24

Thank you for all your kind thoughts, candles and energy. The tale of the previous two losses is worthy of fiction and has made this recent loss all the more raw, but we shall travel through it.
My relative had worked at the same place for 20 years and the company paid tribute to him online - with hundreds of people commenting that they knew him and would miss him. It is truly a great comfort to know how loved he was.
As with the circle of life though my cousin gave birth this week, and so there is a Spring to the Winter.

And in my garden, though wet and wild, there are signs of Spring and that comforts me.

LyraSilvertongueBelacqua · 19/01/2021 23:05

De-lurking (posted on early threads under a different name)

Lost my way a little and have a scan result appointment tomorrow morning and just feeling overwhelmed and have ended up here.

I've so loved reading through the support, wisdom and friend ship shared here.

I'd be most grateful for any positive thoughts sent my way x

BlankTimes · 20/01/2021 01:41

We're here for everyone that needs support and everyone who would like to support others, 8am and 8pm are the most focused times to tune in. If you can't light a physical candle, hold the picture of a candle flame in your heart Halloween Smile

speakout · 20/01/2021 07:13

LyraSilvertongueBelacqua sending positive thoughts for a good result this morning.

I have woken to a very wintry scene this morning, around 6 inches of snow covering everthing in a thick blanket.
It is so magical. More snow forecast for the rest of today, so I don't think I will be going far.
I am experimenting with magical simmer pots at the moment, still with a wintry theme.

I will light a candle at 8am to join with my friends and send support to those in need.

@Iwillneverbesatisfied how did the job interview go? When will you hear?

@speakout you always seem to have the best ideas! I’m going to copy your bud idea I think, so inspired. What a beautiful, tangible reminder that spring is coming. I bet the snow looks gorgeous where you live, not the worst day to have to hibernate!

@Aerwyna “small steps should be celebrated every day” - I love that, it’s so true. What are small of your most cherished small daily practices? I haven’t got much ‘oomph’, so mine are quite low-key and very basic but grounding (to me): morning coffee and intention setting and seeing the sea on my daily dog walk. Then every other day I’m doing Pilates, I miss yoga but I’m enjoying moving my body all the same.

@queenrollo I’m so pleased you found comfort in seeing how loved your loved one is. It’s nice to see that social media can be a force for good. Really uplifting news about your cousin too, babies are such a joy. I had a baby just before lockdown, and the joy she has brought in an otherwise challenging (sometimes straight up bleak) time has been immeasurable.

@LyraSilvertongueBelacqua hello! I drift in and out too, I think that’s ok. All the best with your scan appointment today. Sending you positive thoughts.

I feel better today. I’ve resolved to stay away from the news for a while. Last night I did a little tarot reading for myself with my (beautiful!) goddess deck. I was looking to be guided in how to get through these challenging times with my sanity in tact and I got the Queen of Cups “...inspires people to nourish their souls” and “...mastery of all that Venus represents: art, beauty, intimacy, love. The ability to express love, to nurture others.” It felt so poignant and an excellent reminder to take care of myself, so I can nurture others. I resolve to do a lot less frantic scrolling and a lot more creative writing and walking barefoot on the beach!

A quick question: how would you protect your home from negative/draining energy? I live on the same road as my GP surgery and seeing everyone in masks, and at times hearing arguments, is quite wearing. I have a small front garden with a couple of beds I plan to redo - any suggestions of plants or a Crystal I could bury? Would building a literal hedge work?! I’m stuck.

Wishing you all a peaceful day x

moregarlic · 20/01/2021 07:46

Ps. Here’s the card 😍 I love this deck! Although to be fair, it’s my only one as I’m totally new to tarot.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 20/01/2021 07:53

@moregarlic the interview was really difficult and I do not think I did as well as I could have so I have been really upset last night and today. I have, however, been offered another position (temporary) which I have accepted. It was my second choice. If by some miracle I get my first choice, I will decline my acceptance of the second choice.

Aerwyna · 20/01/2021 12:14

Lyra It’s good to see you again. I didn’t have time to post this morning but have joined the others in sending love and support. We’re here for you x

queenrollo it’s good to hear of the new life in your family, and the beautiful tributes to your relative. Your energy feels grounded and I hope you’re able to take the time you need to process all that you’ve been going through, I know grief is not a linear path, your sisters are here for support.

speakout both your snowy landscape and your magical simmer pot sound beautiful. I hope you’ve managed to stay cosy indoors today!

moregarlic yes, my small practices are proportional to my limited available energy too! Like you, a blessed tea, a candle lit, a few moments focus or tuning in to outdoor energy, even if that is standing at the open patio door.. any opportunity to take in sea or river energy is such a tonic to me so I make sure I stop and connect when I can. Salt baths and essential oil blends also feature heavily right now!

Your tarot is beautiful, as is your interpretation of it, thank you for sharing it with us.

satisfied well done getting through that, it sounds tough. Good news about the job you’ve been offered, i hope whichever is right for you will serve you well

I’m feeling gratitude for a breakthrough in an ongoing situation that has been draining for me, hoping that the momentum this gives will help propel me to completion of this chapter.

Wishing everyone peace and comfort today

speakout · 20/01/2021 12:57

satisfied well done on your new position, it may be a good stepping stone to the next career move.

Aerwyna I am glad your difficult situation hs been lightened by recent developments.
Big changes in the air right now.
