Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

Thank you Violet, yes it’s beyond my understanding too.

The spirit of the place is so strong and there’s a lot of local folklore around it. ‘Old Crockern’ who’s profile can be seen in a local tor is an ancient embodiment of Dartmoor’s genius loci I think. There are also stories of whist hounds protecting the wood’s themselves after dark. I think they’re powerful forces to tap into for protection.

The full moon is 7.16pm tomorrow which I thought might be a good time to focus?

Really appreciate your support, it’s very close to my heart

speakout · 27/01/2021 15:44

Lalavande

I love your intention of beauty. Such a wonderful thing to do.

Aerwyna that makes me angry too- I will happily join in at the point of the new moon.

I agree Lalavande that’s a very enriching and positive message to give to your psyche. I think seeing beauty in the mundane makes such a difference to your whole outlook and experience.

speakout, wonderful! Thank you very much, really good to have my sister’s support

speakout · 28/01/2021 07:17

Wolf moon blessings to everyone.
We have torrential rain here which has put an end to the snow, so not much to tempt me outdoors today.
I need to do some house clearing and tidyng, a few piles of clutter that need to be sorted out. I have ordered some new wicker baskets, inspired by Fairyland Cottage on Youtube yesterday.
A pity charity shops are not open here, both to donate and get a few bits that I need. Usually my first port of call whenever I need new clothing or household items.
But it is an interesting lesson to be creative with things I already have too.
I will be doing some yoga with Adriene on youtube this morning, her latest 30 day release is a breath based and more gentle meditative practice, I have been dropping in and out, usually preferring a more firey practice in the morning, but today I feel like a nurturing session.
VioletCharlotte I will follow your idea of allowing an intention to "drop in", I love that. I usually apply quite a thinking approach to choosing my intention, but will make space to allow words to present themselves to me instead.
I will be ready this evening to whip up some wolf energy for protection this evening at the point of the full moon Aerwyna, complete with raised hackles and bared teeth.
Wolves onced roamed these lands in great numbers, and forests were their home. Their spirit still lives on, their keen eye and protective nature. Women as goddess are particuarly connected to the wolf, The Morrigan, Diana/Artemis, Skadi, the Norse Goddess.
I hope some wolf energy walks with you today sisters.

Good Morning all

Just catching up with this thread and found myself very upset by Aerwyna's post about Wistmans Wood, my eyes started leaking and I felt the sadness deep in my soul. I will be lighting a candle at 7.16pm tonight and visualising the wolves patrolling and protecting and asking that all those who visit this magical place do so with love and good intention and treat it with respect.

Wishing you all a magical day.

Aerwyna · 28/01/2021 10:03

Medjuel thank you so much, your energy input is so appreciated. The feelings you describe are resonant with my own, I am so sorry to have prompted tears but your empathy is very powerful. I think the intent you describe is beautiful.

Yes!! I got a surge of warrior energy reading this! I love your fiery spirit. Thank you

I know I will feel my sister’s energy keenly as we raise this protection together. Your support means so much to me.

Aerwyna · 28/01/2021 10:08

This spoke to me today. Wolf moon blessings friends

“Outrage is part of our healing.

Don't let anyone try to shuffle you away from your anger.

Anger is a wise, cleansing force alerting you to the truth of your worth and to the truth within you.

It's a necessary step in recovering from being violated, personally and collectively.

Don't rush out of your outrage, listen to it and harness it as fuel for wise, informed action on your own behalf. Your anger is part of your power.

Do what so few dare to do: Give your anger a safe, empathic space to be fully, completely felt. Harness it, listen to it.

To the degree that you allow yourself to do so, is the degree to which you can increasingly own your power without apology.

Anger has so many gifts. Not indiscriminate, projected anger, but the energy of outrage, felt and placed where it truly belongs. Anger has an inner alchemy that heals and isn't contingent on external validation.

Collective female outrage is a nectar that this world needs.”

Lalavande · 28/01/2021 10:29

I will also tune in at 7.16pm. It feels an important call, and I love those words you just posted, Aerwyna, about anger's inner alchemy. I am going to explore that idea a little further.

The word that dropped in for me this morning was 'grace' so I will try to bring a sense of grace to my actions today. By yesterday afternoon, after a frustrating day of work and home schooling, I was less than graceful! I'm about to go for a smear test now and then have a series of online meetings which I find very draining. And my younger son has an upset stomach. It could be challenging!

BlankTimes · 28/01/2021 10:52

Count me in for tonight, raised hackles, bared teeth and hoooooowwwwwwlllls Halloween Grin

speakout · 28/01/2021 10:56

Lalavande I hope your examination goes smoothly, and your little one is feeling better soon. So interesting about your intention.
I opened up during yoga, I normally choose a word at the start of my practice, and felt nothing until final relaxation. Then the word just dropped, solidly , with a great thud. Protect.
Which is pertinent to tonight's wolf moon working, but also how I am feeling personally right now.

Aerwyna
Such wise words.
I guess like many girls I was brought up to learn that anger is a bad thing, a destructive state, to be submerged, something that nice girls don't do.
In the past few decades I have made great friends with anger.
Not indiscriminate, projected anger, but the energy of outrage, felt and placed where it truly belongs.
Just this- not the indiscriminate anger that flies off sparks in all directions, that wounds and hurts in its path.
But anger as a tool to take action, to inspire and fire. If we can learn to harness our anger we have a hundred horses in our hands.

Anger has fuelled people to demand equal rights, to abolish slavery, for woman to claim the right to vote.
A world without anger and only meekness allows tyrants and those wit hill will to rule without question.
On a personal level anger has allowed me to heal from abusive relationships, to heal wounds, to claim back my sovereignty. If we try to squirrel away our anger it may attack us from within, leading to depressive emotional states.
My anger has a platform, and when allowed time centre stage tends to make its point in that moment and move along. I put any lingering adrenalin or cortisol in my system to good use- usually by cleaning the bathroom or tidying a cupboard!
Anger can be a wonderful thing.

Oh sisters. I’m in tears feeling the solidarity, your strength and support, your wise words. And that glorious wild wolf spirit in us all. BlankTimes, speakout, Lalvande, Medjuel, Violet, and anyone else who is adding to the energetic mix. I have such gratitude, you’re all f*ing brilliant! XX

Aerwyna · 28/01/2021 12:29

Caught up in the moment there!

Lalavande sending strength to support you in your challenging day. Dig in your roots, and lean into our collective energy if you need to.

speakout your words touch me deeply and resonate with my own experience.

I love this.

BlankTimes, I can feel your fire too, it is glorious Halloween Grin

LunaHeather · 28/01/2021 13:47

This is all very interesting

I have only just let go of anger so I won't participate tonight but it looks like a wonderful place and I hope it gets more respect.

Elphame · 28/01/2021 17:51

Wistman's Wood is one of my favourite places too. I was so angry when I read the report. I myself removed ribbons tied tightly on to tree branches ( I might even have grumbled here at the time).

Count me in - I have quite a lot of "emotion" I'll happily throw in the pot

Aerwyna · 28/01/2021 18:05

I do remember Elphame. Im delighted you’ll be joining us. Your emotion will be well directed! Thank you also for sharing your beautiful photograph of the place, so good for making a connection.

Thank you for your good wishes Luna, your self awareness is a powerful tool for healing

Aerwyna · 28/01/2021 19:18

It’s a wild night on the moors, perfect for drumming up some fierce protection energy. I’ve been meditating on wolf spirit. I can feel our powerful collective energy creating a strong barrier from those who disrespect this sacred land. They do so at their peril for the spirit of the place is strong

A wild night here too, as the moon reaches her full splendour.
I have my candle lit and intention is set.

Aerwyna
I'm beside you on the moor. To help me visualise it, I watched this video of Wistman's Wood as I've not been there myself.

It's so beautiful and mystical, it makes me so angry to think of people disrespecting such a sacred place. I too believe that anger can be a positive and powerful emotion when channeled in the right way.

I love the power we generate as a collective.

Aerwyna · 28/01/2021 19:39

I can feel that powerful collective energy as we stand together, thank you so much for being here. It is as though you are beside me. I also feel the support of ancestors with a connection to this sacred place. The wisht hounds are energised, snarling warnings to those who disrespect

Elphame · 28/01/2021 22:26

It's certainly a wild night here - reminds me of the night spent camping on Dartmoor one November. It was stormy and pouring with rain yet the hounds were out and about. Let's just say there was no way I was leaving my tent to investigate!

LunaHeather · 28/01/2021 22:54

That sounds amazing re the hounds

I can't really imagine camping in that weather, I've actually only camped when it's been very hot and not in the UK.

The rain is pelting the windows here which always makes me think of a song by Alva Leigh - "Calling Me". The whole song attracted me but the key lyric is

🎤There are times that I see and don’t see
Sometimes I feel that I’m changed
by those women on this hill in the rain 🎤

hilariousnamehere · 28/01/2021 23:16

Oh ladies I'm so sorry I missed being with you - I lost track of time!

It's a wild night here too, though I did glimpse the moon earlier, and I've just been cooking up a storm so I don't have to cook again for a week or so. It feels magical in a mundane way - looking after my future self while I am so tired and my energy is low.

@Elphame you are a braver woman than I - I've only ever camped in dry summertime and am unsure how I feel about camping in the rain. Though I do love to listen to it on my conservatory roof while I am all snug and cosy indoors with my cats.

sweetkitty · 28/01/2021 23:34

Wolf Moon Blessings to you all can’t see much of her tonight we also have torrential rain.

I’m loving reading all about anger being a positive emotion, I feel I have a lot of anger built up in me about things in the past I need to let go off and just about all the injustices around the world today particularly people, animals and Mother Earth herself being hurt. I sometimes despise and don’t have much faith in my own species but then you find little pockets of warriors like yourselves, kindred spirits and your reminded that it isn’t all bad. Plus I adore wolves they are just the best aren’t they?

BlankTimes · 29/01/2021 01:00

I really enjoyed that Halloween Grin

speakout · 29/01/2021 06:57

An energetic evening- thank you.

It's still raining hard here, but as is usual for me I slept the sleep of he goddess under the full moon.
sweetkitty I hear what you are saying about homo sapien, we cause so much destruction, but our motivations are no different to other species on the planet- to propogate our DNA, unfortunately our runaway brain has devised some very clumsy systems which damage the environment.
We are also capable of so much love, and creative ways of living a gentle life. Greed is our enemy, and that need only to be the remit of a few powerful individuals to create a living structure that causes damage and havoc.
Things are changing now, at a greater pace than ever before.
I have great hope.
I look forward to another quiet day here, replenishing supples, some candle making, a trip to a coupld of shops.
I plant to sort out my jewellery collection, I don't wear much at all, but it is dotted all about the house, some in the garage, other bits stuffed in drawers, I have a good prettty box that contained gifts at christmas, so I will consolidate my collection.
I am also looking at plants for spring. Far too early of course, but I can plan ahead.
Nothing beats a day of pottering!
