A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

Aerwyna

Beautiful, thanks for posting that.
My journey today took me out to the sea, not for a walk, but al least for a drive along the coast road. Two hills called the Paps, literally meaning breasts in the distance are covered with snow and meet the sea in the distance. It felt good to see the sea, even from the car.
Managed to pop into M& S for some fancy pizza and boxed salad, for an effortless meal tonight.
Sometimes we need to make life a little easier for ourselves.

Your journey sounds magical speakout, I can imagine the stunning liminal scene. Glad you got to take in some sea energy.

It’s a bright day here, cold and fresh. The forecast keeps speaking of snow but none to be seen yet.

Wishing everyone some magic in their day

speakout · 23/01/2021 10:37

It is freezing cold here too- minus 4 right now. Thick snow has been lying here for two weeks now. a very bright day- shows up all the dust in my house haha!

Thank you all so much! I shall keep you posted - it's the small things sometimes, isn't it?

Very glad you don't mind my intermittentness - I go through phases of being online loads and then hardly at all so it's lovely to find somewhere where that's ok.

VioletCharlotte · 23/01/2021 17:34

Well, my wish for a temperature drop came to fruition. I woke this morning to a spectacular frost and incredible blue skies. I decided to make the most of it and head out for a long dog walk, through the woods and over the fields. Being out in nature has worked its magic as always, I feel relieved and reenergised, and my dog is sleeping soundly!

Aerwyna thank you for sharing that video. I love the winter watch posts. I came across this one - just magical! m.youtube.com/watch?fbclid=IwAR0QyQo2L1PyJJnXR0T6RWjO1eU8wgzP59wEBe7xbN0zxz_ZvC60m9aoJqI&v=3zTR4ayDG38&feature=youtu.be

Speakout so glad you managed to get to the sea and enjoy the energy. I find just being near the sea can be enough. I fully support making life easier for ourselves. Me and DS2 are looking forward to a takeaway tonight.

Hilariousnamehere I hope you manage to find a broom you love. I'd love to see a photo of you find one. Intermittence is fine! It's lovely to have you with us.

VioletCharlotte · 23/01/2021 17:35

Not quite sure why the videos posted again!

Super cold here too, currently minus six, not been above freezing all day, despite blue skies and sunshine.
Had a forest walk too, crunchy snow underfoot, so crisp and beautiful. Snowdrops in bloom through the snow- such an inspiration.

Gorgeous picture and looks like three orbs too!

@AcornAutumn I'm having late night tea because I can't sleep - join me by the fire?

AcornAutumn · 24/01/2021 01:02

hilarious thank you

I'm rarely in bed before 2 these days which is not ideal. I will have to try to shift that along.

I have been trying to shift energy by having a clear out. The moon is looking very beguiling tonight. I am telling her my wishes. She's probably thinking I should go to bed. I know some people find the early morning more magical but I like this hour. When I stay at mum's, I often see a fox slinking through the garden and I find it comforting.

speakout · 24/01/2021 07:12

Sounds quite a magical night last night, lots of relaxing by the embers.
Was a quiet night here, Oh was working, DS and I snuggled up on the sofa to watch TV with tea, blankets and a hot water bottle.
Still very cold here.
AcornAutumn wildlife in the garden is very special isn;'t it. I feed the birds daily, but I like to encourage the smaller birds to my garden. There are so many raptors and seagulls ( I am 4 miles from the coastline) which scare off the smaller birds.
So I make an effort to feed the smaller ones in preference. I am rewarded with lots of chaffinches, tits, robins, goldfinches and wood pigeons.

What beautiful place of solace, always here to connect with when we need it. The energy and support is such a comfort to me too.

Good to read of cold bright days, connections with wildlife and cosy evenings. speakout thank you for the picture, the energy is incredible. Ethereal.

I had a gentle day yesterday, feeling the impact of stresses that are hopefully soon to be over. Couldn’t do much at all. I think it can often be the way that towards the end/after a difficult time, our bodies start releasing all we’ve held to get through. I’ll have to get on with it today, looking ahead as I do. Another cold crisp day, with Imbolc around the corner there’s change in the air, the promise of new growth

VioletCharlotte · 24/01/2021 11:16

I've woken up to snow this morning! The view from my window is so pretty and magical. I don't think it'll last long as it's not cold enough, (3 degrees compared to your minus 6 Speakout!) but it's nice to look at while it lasts and lovely to see children out playing and having fun. Thank you for the picture you shared, where you live sounds so beautiful.

Aerwyna sending you love and restorative energy. I know exactly what you mean about the impact of stress, it really takes its toll. Please listen to what your body is telling you and rest and take it easy.

AcornAutumn I hope you're feeling a bit lighter this morning. I love your description of the moon and the fox in your garden. I don't really get much wildlife, where I live is quite built up and I think the dog would scare them off anyway. My dream is to move somewhere more rural at some stage, once the DC have both left home.

I'm planning a quiet day today. I'm going to do some cooking, I have a recipe for a vegan lasagne I want to try out and I'm going to use some of the blackberries from the freezer to make a crumble - it feels like a good day for comfort food!

LunaHeather · 24/01/2021 11:29

hello

I was lurking last night but I have NC'd. Thank you all for being here.

I have decided to stop lurking and join in, if you will have me.

I am always overjoyed to see a bit of nature. I live in concrete - hopefully not forever.

I am going to sort out various, I have some lovely art postcards. Small flat, very little wall space, but time to put some magical art on the wall. I'm thinking just two pieces, with my prayer beads hanging on hook inbetween. There isn't space for a fuller altar, so this could be it.

Thank you for welcoming me here.

LunaHeather · 24/01/2021 11:34

Also, I have realised that self-care means being very careful how I post here!

Aerwyna · 24/01/2021 13:19

Thank you Violet, your beautiful energy is received with open arms and very much appreciated

LunaHeather you are most certainly welcome here. There’s always tea in the pot. Your plans for a magical wall display sound lovely

KateF · 24/01/2021 13:49

I've just been catching up on the thread and feeling calmer already. I need to make time to come here more often. Life has been very stressful of late with many demands, emotional, physical and financial, made upon me. I need to take some time to look after myself I think but how to carve out that time is a challenge.

Lovely to read of people feeding the birds in winter. My grandmother always did and I learned a lot from her, including much weather lore. The young staff members at work had never heard 'red sky at night shepherd's delight' before let alone some of her other phrases! She was very in touch with nature and the seasons, did a lot of pickling and preserving and making of various remedies. She was wonderful.

I've been following a lady on Facebook who has made her garden a haven for wildlife. She has badgers, foxes and squirrels visiting regularly and posts lovely videos. I love watching these beautiful animals.

Dd1 moved into a flat with her boyfriend yesterday. While we were moving things in she casually mentioned wanting to visit the crystal shop in town when it reopens as she is 'a baby witch'! I knew she was interested in astrology but this was a bit of a surprise. I'm wondering if she's noticed my little seasonal alter and so feels able to express her own interest.

HillsBesideTheSea · 24/01/2021 13:53

AcornAutumn 2am is such a special time of the day. I also have been seeing too much of it of late. I am lucky here as I often get to hear the owls, we also have bats that we can see at dusk in other points of the year. At moment I have been enjoying the robins, wrens, tits, and nuthatches that have returned since the passing of the local bird catcher cat.

If you were looking for a god that is has links to the cold (mostly only the cold), kind, middle aged which panthos would you start your hunt?

HillsBesideTheSea · 24/01/2021 13:55

KateF sounds like you will have a nice adventure together.

I haven't heard an owl forever - okay, about 15 years when on holiday in the New Forest - and I haven't seen a bat, or at least noticed one, in adulthood. I will be so excited when I do.

To be fair, it's entirely possible I didn't notice bats in my work focussed younger years.

I dislike the cold so I have no answers to your questions, I'm afraid. My knowledge of goddesses is very poor but I am working on it.

LunaHeather · 24/01/2021 14:15

Aerwyna, thank you.

Kate F, that will be lovely for you both. If I ever get a garden, I want it to be like that.

BlankTimes · 24/01/2021 15:51

Hills, 'a god that is has links to the cold (mostly only the cold), kind, middle aged
You need Santa Claus Halloween Wink

Seriously, I don't know, I'm not well versed in gods and pantheons. From what I remember, lots of gods are a bit too full on testosterone for me. Zeus would be a no-no and Odin the Allfather and his enlightenment and discovery of the Runes is good but he also has a belligerent side. Maybe the Oak king and the Holly King could be worth a look. www.learnreligions.com/holly-king-and-the-oak-king-2562991 They are dual aspects of the Horned God.
Some of the Irish gods and goddesses have lovely legends. mythopedia.com/celtic-mythology/gods/ Take no notice of my musings, go with whichever of them fire your imagination.

Luna how about pot plants or growing spring bulbs or even your own veg in planters? Aloe Vera on a windowsill?

Aerwyna I'm so pleased things are improving for you.

Kate Fabulous your DD feels comfortable enough to let you know she's interested in walking the Path.

Speakout and Violet your snow sounds wonderful, we have only thick frost and ice here.
