Monday Morning Blessings to you all. I'm not on the school run so I can join in the 8am candle lighting. I am practically fizzing with energy this morning (I am tired, but I have all this magic in me this morning) so I am going to send some of it out when I light the candle.

My garden (and our field) are simply too wet to get anything planted in the ground but I am going to start my garlic off in the greenhouse today. I also found a couple of packets of calendula seed and I fancy a riot of orange in the bed under my apples this year so I am going to sew them too for an early start.

Good morning Queens Crown Smile

The combination of frost on the hills and the glow of hazy winter sunlight here is creating such a magical atmosphere this morning. I’ve been absorbing it to take to work with me!

Lovely to see you queenrollo and littleninja and to read of burgeoning creativity and new life being planted. Such a glorious building of imbolc energy. Interesting how ‘spirituality’ (for want of a better word) and creativity seem to grow in tandem with each other. I think 2020 is going to be a good year for us queens..

Violet I love the sound of your new tarot spread and the feel of your excitement to use it. I think there’ll be some powerful readings ahead next weekend.

Wishing everyone a magical start to the week ✨

littleninja · 21/01/2020 07:06

@queenrollo so lovely to hear about your plans for growing. I have a small allotment and will be planting some seeds indoors this week to get a head start. Hopefully the seedlings will be a good size by the time I have prepared the ground and the risk of frost has passed. I love growing from seed. It's so satisfying when you have nurtured something so fragile and you see it come to bloom and bear fruit (or vegetables). I'll be interested to hear what other things you'll be planting and how you get on 🌱

speakout · 21/01/2020 07:13

Good morning.

I love all this talk of growing too. My DD bought me seeds for christmas, still feels a little early here, normally can't plant seeds outside or transplant outside until May here, we often get frosts in late April.
I do have plans to plant a few more trees in my garden this spring, than can be done early.
Off to a woman's empowerment workshop today- it's an all day event, no idea what to expect, OH has taken the day off to hold the fort and keep everyone fed.
Have a good day.

Another one loving the talk of growing. A relatively new thing for me ,I got such joy from the few things (herbs, tomatoes, peppers and some citrus saplings from pips) I grew from seed last year and was thinking of starting some off indoors again soon.

speakout I hope your day is nurturing and uplifting. I’m sure your open heart/mind will allow it to be. Novel for you to have a day without working/caring too. Positive wishes for an enjoyable day

VioletCharlotte · 21/01/2020 10:38

I'm enjoying hearing all your thoughts on growing things - Imbolc must be on the air 😊 I've never grown plants from seeds myself, but it does sounds like a nice thing to do.

Speakout your workshop sounds great - look forward to hearing all about it. You're always so busy, caring for your family, so I'm pleased to hear you've managed to carve out some time to pursue your own interests.

Littleninja I'm so pleased this thread has woken your creativity! Knitting seems like a cosy, relaxing hobby. I could do with something like that to keep me off my phone in the evenings! I've thought about crochet, but been put off as it looks quite complicated! Maybe I should give it a go.

I'm working from home today so enjoying being indoors in the warm. I started the day with a short yoga routine so feeling relaxed and focused.

Good morning.

An early start here, picking up DD at 7am she is on night shift in ICU at the children's hospital this week. It's gruelling for her.
She is asleep, so I am off shopping, post office and gym, back home to work for a few hours, make dinner then take DD back into the hospital later.

A day for magical oil blends, pagan music and incense.

When life gets busy it's time to witch harder!

When life gets busy it's time to witch harder

I love this speakout! A timely reminder, thank you.

It’s been a busy and at times tense week here too, I’m joining you in the magical oil blends and punctuating the day with small practices that bolster and protect.

I was treated to another sparrow hawk visitation yesterday- sitting in my garden- I’ve never seen one here before. I took it as another dose of animal medicine to be absorbed. Lovely stuff Crown Smile

rivierliedje · 22/01/2020 19:15

I'm enjoying growing things too.
I planted five little pea seads along with some seeds from a bell pepper I was eating, pips from a lemon and an avocado stone. I'll see what happens.
I experimented with a chickpea last year and it grew a lovely frilly looking stem.
I would love to have a permaculture garden, but working myself up to that one teeny tiny step at a time.

VioletCharlotte · 22/01/2020 19:33

'Busy but tense' is how I'd describe my week too Yashmis. I'm doing my best to try and remember to bring some magic into every day and to make time for some self-care. I had a difficult meeting at work this afternoon, so I've had a cleansing shower with Lavender oil. to restore my energy.

Speakout your DD's schedule sounds exhausting. I hope she's enjoying it? I work for the NHS so I know how hard the students and newly qualified nurses work.

speakout · 22/01/2020 19:34

rivierliedje It's a lovely idea planting seeds we come across or find in food. And often yield unexpected results- food crops are often f1 hybrids, so offspring won't usually conform to parent characteristics- but great fun to see what comes up.

Having a quiet night here, catching up with laundry, I look forward to warmer weather when I can dry outdoors.

Some peppermint tea soon and an early night.
Have an early hospital run to do in the morning, leaving at 6.15am.
Last one of the week.

OP posts:
YashmisCrone · 22/01/2020 20:29

I love the sound of your plantings too
rivierliedje, my tomatoes from the seeds of supermarket tomatoes produced quite a crop last year. Very satisfying and went some way to dismissing the story I was telling myself about ‘not having green fingers’. I agree with speakout, it’s great fun trying different things and seeing what emerges. I’ll be interested to hear how you experiments go!

Interesting also what you say about the F1 hybrids speakout, I don’t have much knowledge in that area and am always fascinated to learn more

Glad to hear you’ve been practicing self care after that meeting Violet, there’s something very powerful in the symbolism of washing that works on so many levels I think. We seem to be riding a similar energy right now, I feel like the challenge is to go with the waves rather than fight them- stiller waters ahead Crown Smile

In the meantime I’m looking ahead to Imbolc and cheering myself up with thoughts of food magic!

Love to all for a peaceful night 💫

speakout · 23/01/2020 11:49

Just back from a peaceful walk in my forest- huge changes in the air, snowdrops are starting to blanket the ground and the birds chorus in the trees is a cacophony.
Certainly the energy of Imbolc is here, even the air smells different, a lighter more botanical note, lifting from the woody and crisp notes of winter.
I have felt an energy shift too this week. I feel more grounded, more settled, more at home in my skin.
Despite some people around me not sharing the same energy I have felt strong and not interested in having my boundaries breached.

Off to make some lavender candles!! And save any seeds I find while I am chopping veg for dinner!!

Thank you so much for the beautiful snowdrop picture and the glorious forest energy speakout they lift my spirits as does hearing this:

The words of a queen Crown Smile

I read your post earlier when I was at work and loved the energy of it. I did some asserting of boundaries myself and felt sisterly solidarity 🙏

YashmisCrone · 24/01/2020 10:00

speakout I saw this yesterday and thought of you in your forest!

Also, how about these for crowns? Crown Shock

I think they’re beautiful.

Smell does invoke so much within us doesn't it. Memories, emotions, can move our mood.

YashmisCrone those floral crowns are exquisite- thank you for sharing. Beautiful images of strong female energy.

OP posts:
rivierliedje · 24/01/2020 19:05

Wow, those flower crowns are gorgeous.
The daffodil stems are pushing through and there is blossom on some trees, along with little buds everywhere!
I love it.
Here, in Ireland, spring traditionally starts on St Brigid's day 2nd of February, which really does seem to be the time things start stirring in the earth. I also like that counting each season three months from then, means that autumn lines up with harvest in august and that the solstices are midwinter and midsummer. It follows the light, rather than the weather.

speakout · 24/01/2020 20:02

rivierliedje

Lively hearing about traditions in Ireland.
Brigit is sometimes referred to as Bridie or Breide in Scotland- and very much the same energy as the Irish equivalent.

VioletCharlotte · 24/01/2020 20:33

Wow Yashmis those flower crowns are amazing! I would love the opportunity to wear one 💐🌺

Speakout thank you for the snowdrop image. I've not spotted any yet, but things are certainly changing. I'm seeing signs of spring everywhere and so many birds.

Rivierliedje I was thinking about Imbolc yesterday along the same lines as you It feels right for the spring to run Feb- April, summer May- July and so on. Autumn certainly feels more like Autumn than Summer.

I love Brigit's energy. I always feel a real connection to her.

speakout · 24/01/2020 21:25

VioletCharlotte

I was thinking how amazing it would be to wear one too.
I can imagine each of us wearing one in a majestic circle, all divine. all regal. All raising power within and without.

Brigit is an interesting deity. The christian church struggled to impose in Ireland , and assimilation was a very long process. So "Saint" Brigit was a palatable alternative for the institution, and a flavour of Catholicism that venerates Mary- simply a version of the goddess.

OP posts:
YashmisCrone · 24/01/2020 21:36

I agree that the markers of the year we observe as pagans/witches feel much more natural than mainstream definitions.

I’ve been enjoying noticing daffodil stalks and signs of new growth too, I can feel my energy rising with it- change is afoot and there’s growth to be done!

Also loving this talk of Brigid, such a tenacious goddess, I love how she stands the test of time in our collective conscious despite the usual efforts to ‘christianise’. The divine feminine cannot be squeezed into a patriarchy shaped box!

“ She protects us as we walk through the labyrinth but also makes us face the reality of ourselves. Her Fire is the spark alive in every one of us.”

Suc hinteresting reading.
I love the idea of Brigit upholding woman's rights.
THis is the energy we need to bring planetary healing.

Good morning, just lying in bed listening to the wind outside. I had sucha deep, dream filled resorative sleep. I hope everyone is enjoying this new moon energy- a time for fresh starts, new beginnings as we look towards the sun.
Imbolc approaches , a time I love, life unfolds anew, giving a fresh energy for any jaded spirit.

Have a magical day friends.
