Good morning everyone.
Another very busy day ahead here, heaps of things to do.
Have to make lunch for my mother's church friends today- bishop is coming, so stuff to hide!! I have a tray of crystals purifying in sunlight and smudge sticks drying, also spells written on parchment, pentacles, ivy dragons blood and things left over from a photo shoot yesterday. I am so bound up with this stuff that I have to make myself actually think- Is this witch stuff? And run it mentally past the christian eyes!!

Mothers church friends love sweet stuff, so hot chocolate fudge cake and ice cream always goes down well!
I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning everyone!
Speakout good luck with your "tidying"

Welcome wellhelloyou lovely to see you. There are many who are wiser with the Tarot than I but this is what I drew for you. This would suggest to me that things are very overwhelming for you right now and there's situations you might have a strong desire to leave behind and a change is needed. However I'm sure others will also help.

Today is a day of self care here before my next hospital appointment which I have a feeling will be painful, so a rest and recharge with some herbal tea and incense is in order.

Good morning sisters,

Just checking in- another busy bee here! 🐝 But the energy of the goddess is abundant and flowing with the newness and possibly of spring- lovely for flow and getting things done 💫

Welcome wellhelloyou, I’m glad you can feel the positive energy of our sacred space here. The lifeforce is strong within us and through our connection it has a powerful momentum. I drew the 7 of cups for you. You may feel overwhelmed by choice, anxious about making the right one and not wanting to miss out. But whatever choice you make propels you to the place that is right for your path right now. All will be well. The key is to pick a direction and focus on that- don’t be distracted by what could have been.

I’m loving the sacred feminine/goddess discussion and all the wise words shared around it. Thank you all 🙏

The goddess and the sacred feminine, within a feminist framework are central to my path too. I’m listening with interest to you wise words and reflections here.

Here’s some articles I have enjoyed on the subject

Good luck with the bishop ,chocolate fudge cake and all else involved in your day speakout! I have such a lovely image of your home infused with your creativity and magic. It’s a shame when we have to hide things, although I do understand why. I for one, would rather not be in a position of having to explain myself to those who have no intention of understanding or accepting. A waste of energy IMO. I’ve no time for people who feel they have the right to try and change my mind! Hope all goes well x

Wishing everyone some magic in their day ✨

Thank you @Loyaultemelie and @YashmisCrone for the card. Incredibly spot on! I’ll keep your wise words in my mind.

Yes. I was drawn to this thread randomly - not searching - and read through the pages eagerly. Such a lovely warm comforting supportive positive space. The world needs more of this to your around.

Hope everyone’s day is magical.

Elphame · 01/04/2019 11:16

Welcome wellhelloyou :)

Good luck with the "de-witching" speakout! I always manage to miss something.... The chocolate fudge cake sounds delicious.

Not much planned here. I've already taken the cat to the vet for his post surgery check up (he had a tooth out last week) and I'm currently trapped in the house. Quite literally! The front door has jammed and I can't open it. DP has gone out with the dog so I'm hoping he can unjam it when he gets home.....

I only discovered I was trapped when the delivery of Japanese charcoal arrived, It is apparently far better for incense burning than those discs you find everywhere as it burns more slowly and at a lower temperature which means more scent and less smoke. Or so I'm told. We'll soon see - if I ever get the door open that is!

speakout · 01/04/2019 11:21

YashmisCrone

Those links are very interesting, I rewatched The Burning Times last night, so so sad, and the music is so haunting.

OP posts:
SockPortal · 01/04/2019 14:04

@Elphame have you escaped your house yet?

I treated myself to a nice back massage this morning, I am firm believer it holistic methods. It's made me feel a lot better and lighter after a tough couple of weeks.

I'm planning to take this week slowly and get my life back in order. This week will be about writing to do lists, some relaxation and life planning.

It comes with a revelation that I'm not suited to work full time and be a mum. I'm going to work part time, spend some time nurturing myself and then I can offer my toddler DD a better version of myself.

Elphame · 01/04/2019 14:22

@SockPortal My knight is shining armour ( ahem) has rescued me! That door has been dicey for a bit but it's now actually bent.

I've just tried the Japanese charcoal - yes MUCH less smoke and the house smells lovely. However 10kg which was the minimum order will last me forever and a day. I may need to go into the re-sale business!

I always had great admiration for mothers who could juggle full time work and young children. I worked part time til my youngest was in secondary and could catch the school bus there and back. My DP's parents were living with us so they could keep an eye on them after school but of course they didn't need actual minding.

BlankTimes · 01/04/2019 14:46

Elphame now that's a message to stay put. Halloween Wink
When he does unjam it, rub candlewax all around the doorframe where it opens, top bottom and side, then there's a lot less chance of it sticking again.

Is there only one door? If so, on a more serious note, do have a backup plan about how you'd get out if there was a fire.

Speakout hope you've hidden everything, I'm sure the yommy offerings will distract from anything you may have accidentally left visible.

This whole unnecessary divisiveness doesn't happen elsewhere, in some countries like Ireland old practises were just assimilated into new ideas and carried on.

You'd never get a UK archaeologist saying anything like this “Despite the difficulty, if not the impossibility, of firmly correlating specific monuments with sites mentioned in early tales, the general legendary associations of Rathcroghan and its rich mythology now, as in the past, imbue the land with magic…”
John Waddell, Rathcroghan: Archaeological and Geophysical Survey in a Ritual Landscape. 2009

Elphame · 01/04/2019 15:39

I'll try the candle thing. Thanks Blanktimes We do have a back door so I could get out into the garden if I had to escape and provided I was feeling brave enough even a side gate onto the lane but it's somewhat over grown, has a temperamental old combination padlock and some steep steps. I need to be desperate to get out that way!

Interesting about the Waddell comment. I know that many UK academics working in the field have to be circumspect about what they say in public to maintain their academic credibility as belief in magic is still scoffed at by many. For some I'm sure (in fact I know!) their own beliefs are not as black and white as their published work would imply.

Ireland is on my wish list - never quite got there but I'm hoping in the next couple of years.

BlankTimes · 01/04/2019 16:40

You're welcome Elphame

I think it's a crazy system where academic credibility inhibits free speech. I'm so pleased there's an undercurrent of sense and understanding behind the pretense.

I'm sure you'll love Ireland and Ireland will love you, it's just so present. When you've got a spare hour, do have a look at Voices from the Dawn, their interactive sites on the map are really good to explore. voicesfromthedawn.com/

Everywhere has its own resonance and I think it depends on us as individuals whether that place is attractive to us, welcoming to us, or not.

Elphame · 01/04/2019 18:02

I will - I did take a quick look before I went out ( yay freedom!)

I'm still adding to my flower jar. Today I've picked some cuckoo flower, yellow archangel (was in 2 minds about that - it's an invasive pest that is far too comfortable around here), white dead nettle, primrose, purple and white violets and a kingcup. They need to dry before I can add them though.

I'm going to need a bigger jar!

Any Witches Here? Part 7.
YashmisCrone · 01/04/2019 23:49

Loyaul I didn’t see that you’d also drawn a card when I posted earlier- I like the way the two work together for a clearer message. Glad it made sense to you wellhelloyou Pleased to hear of your self care day. I really admire the positive stoic and warm energy you bring to our thread, despite all you’ve been through recently. I hope you’re on the mend. Healing energy being sent your way ✨

Elphame glad you escaped! Like BlankTimes I’d take it as a sign to stay put! Really interested to hear about the Japanese charcoal. I like to burn frankincense resin and use the charcoal discs- they are smokey though. Let me know if you do decide to sell some on- I’d put in an order! I loved seeing how your flower jar is coming along- beautiful.

SockPortal good to hear your massage has helped. It’s so important to nurture ourselves wherever we can isn’t it. I wonder if it helped you achieve the state of mind you needed to come to your conclusion about work. When I read your post I got a warm feeling of certainty that you’ve made a wise choice there. As speakout shared with us ‘a wise woman waters her own garden first’

BlankTimes I agree the divisiveness is unnecessary, and sadly exists in many spheres and professions. I think it’s indicative of how deep rooted the vilification is in our society. Oh my what a wormhole! Thank you for the warning Grin I’ve had a quick peak and am saving it for later in the week when I’m hoping to have a bit of quieter time 🤞

speakout I find The Burning Times utterly heartbreaking. It also makes me furious. Such heinous acts committed against women in the name of religion . When I get better at it I’d like to use the ability to send healing and comfort through time for solidarity with our sisters before us.

Also thinking of our Violet I hope all is well with you 💖

Mixed day energy wise for me today. It’s been busy and the next couple of days will be the same. I had the work news I was seeking answers for so at least I now know where to focus my energies, albeit a bit daunting. I also had an unusual kind of ‘energy reaction’ to a client I worked with today. Usually this shows me something I need to pay attention to in myself, I can’t put my finger on it yet. I might try a journeying meditation as I go to bed, sometimes this helps me find clarity through dreams. Sometimes I just need to ‘bookmark it’, stop searching and the answer will come when I’m ready for it.

Wishing everyone a restful night 💫

Mistymount · 02/04/2019 01:13

Speakout the amazing gravity glue info came via Blank, not me. She always provides the most fabulous worm holes to disappear down! Grin

Blank- I read history and English lit at uni and did a year at UCC which included Celtic civilisations and Celtic literature. I recall my lecturers there treating the literature with high regard and I only recently consciously realised just how comfortable they were in taking these hand in hand with proven historical facts.

I too like Bealtaine Cottage (and Tylluan Penry - another recommendation from our wonderful hive mind here). I’m sure I’m not the only one here who finds themselves chatting back to their videos making notes about ideas that pique my interest or scuttling off down another corner of the internet to learn more.

We are truly into Autumn now as the weather is cooling down but the garden is still thriving and the plants that prefer cooler climes are coming into their own.

DS2 is now back from school camp & DS1 went off yesterday, so I’ve had a weird couple of weeks and heaps of laundry. I’m sure DS1’s bedding was out & drying on the line before his bum touched the seat on the coach! They both finish school for Easter this Thursday so I’ll have to get my thinking cap on for things to occupy them.

We went to the school art show this weekend. This beautiful hare sold on the first night (way above my budget anyway). It was right opposite the entrance and the only hare picture in the exhibition. Interesting given my recent obsession with drawing hares.

Blessings to you all

VioletCharlotte · 02/04/2019 09:37

Morning everyone, just catching up on all the posts. Things move on so quickly when you're away for a day or two.

I've been really busy at work recently and seem to have a lot going on at home. I've not had enough time for self-care or anything witchy. I need to protect myself as everyone around me seems to have problems at the moment and I'm picking up on all the negativity. On top of that, I've got to go into hospital for a minor op on Friday. Only day surgery, but it's a general anaesthetic and I can't help feeling anxious about it. The hospital environment makes me extremely stressed and it always takes me a while to shake it.

Misty I love that picture of the hare. I have a bit of a hare obsession too. They're beautiful creatures aren't they?

SockPortal · 02/04/2019 14:54

Thank you @YashmisCrone, I have indeed found peace with my decision. Over the past few years I have forgotten to be me; the career profession, carer for my elderly grandparents and the shock of motherhood. The ladies on this thread and the past ones have taught me to invest in myself and have a better balance.

@VioletCharlotte I understand your fears, I had to have GA in January for a minor op. I know it's hard but channel your anxiety Ito the positive thoughts of how well you will feel after the procedure. Take time to recover and I will send you some healing vibes, I'm sure the others here will too!

I've noticed that hares are very in vogue at the moment. I'm going to use this to my advantage and have them in various places when I redo my garden this summer. They will be around in a subtle protective way.

Elphame · 02/04/2019 16:35

@VioletCharlotte - I'm with you on the GA anxiety. Hope all goes well on Friday xx

I haven't said anything here but I had an urgent recall from my routine mammo. One of the existing ( benign) tumours in my breast has apparently doubled in size since the last ultrasound in December.

I got the swanky new mammogram machine this time which takes 3D pictures and yet another ultrasound. The good news is that the existing tumours haven't increased much if at all but I have a lovely new one right next to an existing one. Aren't I lucky....

More biopsies and I think I'm going to have to agree to surgery now. I had a huge fight to have the last surgical excision under local and this will be more of the same. I am terrified of having a GA though.

Consoling myself with chocolate hobnobs at the moment.

SockPortal · 02/04/2019 16:52

Ohhh @Elphame what a worrying time for you! I don't have anything to really say other than to say I will keep you in my thoughts. I'm sure someone wiser than me will be along shortly to offer you some words of wisdom.

Elphame · 02/04/2019 17:01

Aww thank you Sock. I'm fine really! Just rather fed up with the whole thing. It's a benign condition but annoying. If I thought surgery would be a permanent cure then I'd have it in a heartbeat but I don't think it will be. Been there, tried that!

speakout · 02/04/2019 17:05

Oh VioletCharlotte I can understand your concerns, try to keep strong, it will be over in a few days.

Elphame What a worrying time for you, I had a breast scare last year, so I can understand some of what you are going through.

Keep strong my sisters- I am sending healing thoughts and positive energy to both of you. X

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 02/04/2019 18:30

Oh goodness Elphame. That's certainly helped give me some perspective. I'm so relieved the tumours are benign, but it's still must be unpleasant and unsettling for you.

Sockportal and Speakout thank you for your kind words. I know I'll be fine and it should help me feel better. I'm going to try and focus on that, rather than the process itself.

Loyaultemelie · 02/04/2019 18:38

Wishing you well for Friday VioletCharlotte

Limping in still wearing the full leg contraption of doom feeling sorry for myself. At the hospital had one doctor tell me I need physio and gradual weight bearing in a moonboot . Then I got sent home by another having asked me to weightbear fully and not been able to and told I couldn't possibly be as painful and swollen as I am 8 weeks in. When questioned by a nurse how I was meant to fully weight bear in the brace he looked at us both like we had 5 heads and walked out with a breezy "come back in 4 weeks, I expect no brace in 3 and at least down to 1 crutch if not none"
However he's got my back up so I'm bloody well going to do it, with a little help from Mother Nature

Now off to disappear down BlankTimes latest wormhole

BlankTimes · 02/04/2019 23:41

Sending Good Things for all the medical issues.

and told I couldn't possibly be as painful and swollen as I am 8 weeks in
Sadly there are far too many people in the medical profession who act like that. Totally ignore your actual symptoms and deny they exist.
I was chatting to a really clued-up physio recently and she told me it's common for consultants whose patients have a negative test yet have all the physical symptoms indicative of Something Wrong to tell the patients they must just be imagining the symptoms.Based solely on their negative test result. I won't list the one's I've encountered lately or this will be at least a 25,000 word rant.
Your presentation is outside their narrow viewpoint of how it should be therefore you must be wrong, they couldn't possibly be wrong, they are qualified and you are not. I often wonder if they teach them that at medical school. Ego the size of a planet, zero empathy and zero ability to see outside their narrow parameters.

Please don't listen to what they said Loyaul please get a second opinion, especially if any of the following are a problem.

Is the area hot at all? Use the back of one hand to test the temp of both knees, it's often a better indicator than the palm, at least mine is

Is it red to look at? If so, draw a biro line where the redness ends and if more redness shows outside that line, get medical attention.

Use a tape measure and see how much bigger it is than the other one and keep a record of that at the same time say mid-evening or before bed every 2 days, if the swollen knee gets bigger, it needs medical attention from someone who knows what they are doing. not that pillock
