I found this prayer on Facebook and tought it was a beautiful way to start the new prayer thread.

There was a beautiful picture with it too, but I don’t know how to transfer that.

Afternoon lovely prayer thread people. How are you today?

We had an alpha away day on Sunday for our group and it was completely incredible. Just reminded me that God so longs to encounter us, to wrap us in love, to assure us of his presence. Just beautiful stuff. Still flying high. I pray you all know his presence today.

I did a talk on Sunday too, so still getting over all that, was utterly exhausted! But people seemed to be touched by it and that's a massive privilege. When I wrote this book I never dreamed I'd end up speaking too, just too terrifying, but it keeps happening and while it's still scary it feels like a new thing which is good. It's just too exhausting though to do much so I have to keep it few and far between!

How are you all?

Sorry am not around much right now. Had a good day yesterday but it's rather unravelled today. Can't seem to get people to understand and about what's going on.

mhd it's great that your book is out there and you're able to do speaking about it too. After you sent me a link I mentioned it to someone I know and it turned out they'd read it!

Please pray for MHD who has been struck down with a very painful lung infection.

“Very painful infection hit. Please pray, if you're of the inclination. Prayer may seem like a helpless gesture sometimes, but it does stuff. Last night I got afraid as pleurisy hit and it hurt so much, but I got such a tangible sense of God's presence in it. No, I don't always get why God doesn't just stop it, but I do know he's here in it. But it still hurts.”

Thank you so much Oma and everyone. I'm still quite poorly but pain much less. Just utterly worn out. Think this one will take a while to get over. Supposed to be speaking at a conference next weekend, but not sure that will be possible now.

Please remember me in your prayers. It's the anniversary of my godmothers suicide on Sunday and I'm finding Easter incredibly difficult. It's also the first one without being part of my community. I attempted to arrange crisis support for mental health but this has been refused.

I'm finding the readings and prayers over this period to be even more upsetting than usual. Things are getting harder not easier and I, like her, am struggling with thoughts of suicide (hence asking for crisis support).

Dear Becca, there is very little, if anything that anybody can say to help you in the desperate situation you find yourself in. From the grief you have felt over your godmother’s death you know that suicide is never the answer to anybody’s problems and I would urge you to turn your thoughts away from such a possibility. I would also suggest you keep calmly trying to deal with everyday needs and try to find some joy in ordinary circumstances.
God has not abandoned you however much it seems like it.

Becca, I am so sorry you are feeling that bad. It must be very difficult for you, particularly with the anniversary coming up and without the support of your community. I have prayed for you and will continue to do so.

Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well. It sounds like you've already reached out for that support. We hope you are able to get it asap.

Taking a day off from the threads I seem to have got embroiled in lately, you know the usual type... 😂

I love Easter Sunday. I wish I could be in church but this infection has floored me so badly I can't. But I'll be celebrating here at home and praising Jesus for the most incredible event in history. I'm so grateful.
