A nice, gentle thread for us all to count our blessing, to pause, breathe and be thankful for all the wee, small things that go right in our days.

Everyone is welcome, no matter our personal beliefs or faiths.

Today, I am grateful for a new year and a fresh start and for time spent with my family.x

that my friend has been able to get a much deserved couple of days away

On the subject of wee birds, Less, I was watching the breakfast assembly at my bird feeders this morning (mostly tits, but a few finches and a robin) and was thrilled to see a lively little wren make its fluttery way round the garden - such a joy!

I love watching the birds, Optimist, especially when we get something a wee bit unusual.

Wasting time watching blackbirds strip the berries off a tree in next door's front garden.

Scented candles and incense making the place smell all cosy in a wintry sort of way.

That sounds very festive, Less. My day didn't pan out as planned, but everyone's well and I was glad to be able to step in to help out in a small family difficulty. Quiet night in for me too - my good friend in New York has recommended Feud : Betty and Joan that's on BBC2 shortly, so time for pyjamas, methinks!

Today I am grateful I made it to Quaker meeting. I'm grateful for a lovely afternoon bowling and eating pizza with friends and family
